I assume more pieces of the breakable wire will be provided in the package to 'refurbish' the WEP and emergency full rich after each flight you use it? This really looks like a great project and I'm glad you seem to have your head sorted and will make no compromises.

Thrustmaster didn't add FFB to their flagship product, the Warthog, and I'll just venture to assume they did this for a good reason. This got me thinking: LOGICNC, maybe you could make the stick Warthog compatible (same screw and pins), for easy installation to our existing Warthog base?

Is there any idea of a price range that this would go to?

This is a matter for the forum administrator: new security checks should be put in place for new member registrations, to filter out the spam bots.

+1 I would very much like to fly a 6DOF SU33 with an upgraded external 3D model. And AFM. Should ED make this a new standalone module, I'd buy it in an instant.

De nada!

These babies: Yes, the pedals are metal, as is the base. They're heavy. They do need to be fixed to the floor, though - I have laminate floor and have simply used the regular duck tape for temporary fixation (until I get my sim room with a proper pit ready, that is :) ).

Open DCS World, go to Module Manager, login with the account you bought FC3 with, install directly from the Module Manager.

I highly recommend you add a set of rudder pedals with toe brakes. I am using the Saitek Pro Combat Flight rudder pedals, which are very decent and well complement the Warthog.

Until I learn to land that Huey properly, I personally prefer non clipping trees, thank you very much :D :D -
What are the major updates to be expected?

It would be nice if the new guy would choose a more... positive approach for his first post on this forum, if you catch my drift :) It would be easier to accept him to the forum that way... -
Robert, seriously, you said your piece. You don't like crew chiefs, we get that. You actually feel crew chiefs don't serve any purpose other than to kick some tires and hold flashlights for others that do actual work. We get that. What I don't get is your insistence on bashing around this thread. We understand you don't approve of this crew chief giving lessons. Why don't you leave alone the people who DO want to hear the lessons? You didn't hear what the crew chief had to say, did you? So what gives you the right to bash him into the ground, and on what basis? Do you know for a fact that this particular crew chief only kicks tires? Do you know for a fact that he fits YOUR idea of a crew chief? No. You know nothing of the sort. He did it for free. People decided to listen to him on their own. He might have given some good advice, he might have said nothing new - this doesn't matter much. All you're doing in here is trolling.

Warn him in advance? He was 'warned' in advance. The features were well advertised. Every single one of us that purchased FC3 knew, that most of the cockpits were copied from FC2. Some of us (that purchased during beta) actually received MORE than was advertised at the time of purchase (for example, when I bought it, there was no sign of A10A, SU27 and SU25 improved 6DOF cockpits and new models, so for me this is a pure bonus). What I'm saying is: When he bought it, he knew that he was buying cockpits from FC2. And yet, he's not satisfied and demands more. It would be a different matter if he wrote 'I really like the new 6DOF cockpits and I wish all the cockpits in FC3 were redone in 6DOF - the old ones are really outdated compared to the new ones.' But he didn't. He wrote he wasn't satisfied with the current cockpits, which clearly shows that he feels he's entitled to more. -
Once and for all: Robert, I fail to see where in this thread anyone is worshiping the crew chief. All I see is healthy respect for someone who actually works with the planes we fly with in our sims. I'll assume you didn't actually listen to his 'lesson', so basically you have no way of knowing WHAT he told the attendees. You don't know the scope of his knowledge, you're dismissing every notion of this guy based on his title of 'crew chief'. I'll go ahead and make an assumption that you have had some sort of bad experience with crew chiefs in the past and have problems with them for some reason or other. This is of course all assuming you are what you say you are (a military pilot). But let's go back to the topic at hand: He's a crew chief that works on an A10 airplane. Him having a virtual 'lesson' would be bad for us virtual pilots... how exactly? What exactly could be bad in this situation? Even if he doesn't tell us anything new and pertinent to our flying, it's still interesting to hear info from a firsthand experience, even if it is from someone that only takes care of the planes on the ground and not in the air. Let me give you another driving example: I love Formula one. I'd love to drive it. I do drive it in simulations. Would I love to talk to Lewis Hamilton or Michael Schumacher? Damn straight. But would I pass on an opportunity to talk to the guy that tickers around the engine, just because I'm more interested in driving? Nope. I'd love to talk to him, I'm sure he has much to say. Last but not least: You had your say. You don't like the idea. However, some of us do like it. There is absolutely no harm in it. Why do you insist on ruining a nice experience for the rest of us? Dude, relax, take a chill pill, let us enjoy what we enjoy. You don't have to take part of it, no one is forcing you.

To be honest, you knew what you purchased when you bought FC3. Saying that you're not satisfied with it is like buying a Renault Clio, then complaining that it doesn't have the advanced features of a BMW 3. While we all wish the 3D models and cockpits were updated to the eyecandy 6DOF versions that we're enjoying with F15, SU27 and A10A, we can't say we're not satisfied with FC3, as it's a vast improvement over FC2. -
It makes sense, but I for one would not mind hearing what the Crew chief can tell us about the planes we fly, from his perspective. It won't change the way we fly, but it might be interesting nevertheless. That makes some sense too, no?
-
Flight jocks... They think they know everything :) Seriously, though, knowing how to USE an airplane does not mean you know more about it than a crew chief. I consider myself an excellent driver, but I don't claim to know more about the car than my mechanic. Quite the opposite. I may know how to use it, but he knows how to keep it running.

It was too early in the morning for me (3am), and I was too beat from yesterday's activities to stay up that late. Again, did anyone record it :D ?
-
Is anyone recording it / has anyone recorded it?

Still plenty of time to see if it's legit, as 7:00 pm PT is several hours away. Also, Zoolander64 never wrote that HE HIMSELF would do the lecture. In fact, if you read his post, you can see that he will sit it out with the rest of us virtual pilots, so he may only be organizing this event. While I understand the skepticism (the guy did only register on this forum today and only has 1 post), it might be wise to give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

If ED were to record this entire lesson as a video and add it to the Training for the A10C, that'd be awesome. Better yet, record the audio, chop it up and make an interactive training mission :)

After the latest update, in Module Manager I can't see the serial number for my Black Shark 2 installation (it's the Upgrade version from BS1), even though I purchased BS1 and BS2 with the same account as other modules, and am logged in with my account within Module Manager, where my other serials are visible. I can see my BS1 and BS2 serials if I log in to the digitalcombatsimulator.com website and check my account there, so it appears the Module Manager doesn't read the BS2 upgrade serials, for some reason? Also, would it be possible to link my A10C serial with my account? I've originally purchased it via Steam, have it activated in DCS World and everything, and I'd like it very much if I could link it to my account, to centralise all my serials in the Module Manager.

Lovely review, and completely in sync with my own experience with the Huey. I did like the snick remark "(oh, the speculation does flow when it comes to DCS!)" :)

You can buy a copy of DCS A10C, DCS KA50, DCS P51D every month, that should theoretically skew the sales data well towards DCS modules :)
