  1. Ok... Update on the VR Pilot for the AV8BNA. Now the Mirage 2000C VR Pilot is finished and soon to be pushed out to everyone in the next update. I have set up the Harrier pilot on the seat jig to start scanning and begin high poly mesh cleanup. Hopefully that will be done in the next week. Then most of the work will be in lower poly retopo'd model that will be used in game. I working to give you a gorgeous VR Harrier pilot just like the NEW Mirage VR pilot coming out in the next update. Pic of the mannequin with Navy/Marine Pilot gear.
  2. More positive news... Yes the new VR pilot is coming, I believe the next Open Beta Update. I hope you guys like it. A lot of hours went into and it's fully 3D scanned accurate Pilot Model. Here it is, well what it was scanned from.
  3. Texture map size will not affect FPS only load time and VRAM space. That's why high end cards are going into 12GB range. but an older, mediocre will have problems do to not enough VRAM and will have to store it on a swap file/drive and that causes stutters etc. We went with little as we could with textures for the aircraft to minimize FPS impact cause a lot of textures maps will affect FPS with higher drawcalls. Basically it will have to render more times with more textures to geometry instead less renders with fewer textures. The M2000 is dated due to the video performance from that time when it was released.
  4. There is a UI option to set it in the cockpit.
  5. I'll check it out it could be disabled in the max file. will check it out, but I am working other things right now so don't know when i can get to it.
  6. M2000C VR Pilot Patches Template. Once you have your patches cut out and placed. We recommend making a copy of the layer with the patches only. Going to Menu: “Image-->Adjustments-->Hue?Saturations” (Ctrl U)Adjusting the “Lightness” to full white. Next placing the new white patches over the black background and copying the Layers (Ctrl-Shift C) and placing it as the alpha in the Channels Layer. Go back into RGB Layer and hide the white black layers you created so only the original Patches layer is there to save as a DDS file DXT5 format. This should be pretty easy for people to place their patches in the correct spot without having to back and forth to get it correct. Also a great place to get official 2/5 Mirage patches: GustoShop We will have a download link once the pilot is out.
  7. Thanks, It was a tough progress with getting this pilot in the cockpit, but we are proud cause it's accurate. A lot of details are in there. We are also working a little feature I think people will really like coming to the VR pilot hopefully very soon.
  8. Normals are set in the model material via 3dsmax. Only Roughmets are naming conventional. What part are you having an issue with the normal maps? Here is the naming of texture channels in liveries: DIFFUSE = 0 NORMAL_MAP = 1 SPECULAR = 2 Decal = 3 DIRT = 4 DAMAGE = 5 PUDDLES = 6 SNOW = 7 SELF_ILLUMINATION = 8 AMBIENT_OCCLUSION = 9 BTW We didn't make the Magic's 3D model. Also when I had visited Orange the Magic's had a foggy white seeker glass.
  9. looks good. if you want to add roughmet, just add it to the name. example filename_RoughMet.dds <--- that should add the ability to have roughmet. it's all naming conventions.
  10. Thanks, It's a pain in the ass process of skin weights to make the joints bend correctly. The Pilot was scanned at a sitting position so there wasn't a stretching at the pelvis and has a nicer look, a more natural seat position. Once the skin weights are correctly applied to each bone, we can then easily assign the same arg of the controls, animate to match the throttle, stick, and pedals movements. Now with regards to the pilot doing other things that would require extreme coding and special techniques, basically a lot of work, reasons I will not say here as we are looking into this in the future.
  11. M2000C VR Pilot Seat mount test. WIP still have a lot more texture work to do. Animation and seat harness integration as well.
  12. The RWR fix was due to my error, had a model version screw up when fixing a different bug and it reset the RWR connector to the model that was causing the error. I didn't realize this until after it was released. I am truly sorry about this. I have already made sure that the fix is in the repository to be pushed out on the next update.
  13. That old windshield texture file isn't even the correct name to work in the 3d model. None of the old mods will work with the new cockpit completely different names and a lot of mapping changes.
  14. Thank you
  15. VTB in IRL it is set back inside with a screen over it just like what is in the update. that's how it is.
  16. NVG goggle can use the green floods if you have them on. That's why they changed them red to green.
  17. New VR 3d scan of Mirage 2000C Pilot in-progress.
  18. Did anyone notice the Flood lights are now green? NVG Upgrade to the cockpits.
  19. The information we had on the aircraft was from older sources. Yes such as engine performance. Even with the areas I am in, the 3D model side. Our data was public and from older and various different configurations, time periods, etc of the aircraft. After the collaboration between the Armee De l'aire and us started, now we have information to basically bring the aircraft to a modern day configuration and performance. In all areas of the aircraft. That is why we are doing this mid life overhaul.
  20. Yeah a lot of hard work goes into making these aircraft and I am happy to have the pleasure of working in Razbam along with ED and EC 2/5
  21. I don't think you can compare flight model characteristics differences between other aircraft especially with wing shapes and different FBW systems. We have a personal connection with the pilots from the 2/5 and we bug them constantly to really dive into comparison with the real aircraft and the DCS version. We have developed a good relationship with them and the communication is strong. They use DCS as training tool so they want to give us the most accurate feed back as possible. Actually we have even flown in their training simulators and the DCS version feel basically the same. When I got in the sim and tried it, I was quite impressed with Captain Smiley's work on capturing the "The Feel" as everyone calls it with FM performance. Except with the Thales simulated cockpit and a FBW simulated FLCS, also a throttle you have to slam in AB, etc. That is what draws the difference between their simulator and DCS that i could feel. (Edit: Their Mirage 2000C is the newer P2 Engine which spooled up faster, and we are addressing that in updates with accurate information soon.) The Mirage 2000C Stick is really hard to move and the pilots say that they learn to fly it "in the dime" not like how we do in in front of the monitors or in VR with our warthogs or Virpils slaming sticks from one side of the axis to the other. Also another thing about the simulator and this goes for every single one ever created that nobody takes into account when comparing to a real plane. Flying a real aircraft is a lot easier IRL than one on the computer, I don't care how good you code it and if you are Microsoft, ED, Xplane or even Thales within a million dollar simulator. It is so much easier in a real plane than any sim.
  22. Not happening tomorrow, new items still being coded. WIP Missing pilot is still in progress. Will be added when it's done.
  23. For those who don't go to Facebook.
