  1. Apologies, I was typing on phone and auto correct re-did half my reply, but yes: -Exclusive Full Screen Mode -HDR Disabled One thing to note, the Driver level FMF also Auto-Disables if the pixel shift/jitter/motion is above a certain threshold. So you may get it to work during startup and taxi, but once your start your take off roll, depending on the motion of the scenery around you, it would auto disable anyway.
  2. Users should understand, there's two different Types of FMF Engines. FSR 3.0 uses FMF on a Rendering Engine Level, using Motion vectors and Optical Flow Data to create the images. Non FSR 3.0, uses FMF on a Driver Level and does not use MV or OF Data, and image quality suffers. This will also not take 24-40 FPS Games and make them instantly 60+ FPS. The Tech docs and requirements for Driver level FMF Require: -55+ FPS in 1080P -70+ FPS in 1440P -VSYNC ENABLED -Radeon Enhanced Sync DISABLED. -FreeSync will automatically be disabled. In Summary, this are not the droids your looking for.
  3. How is it obsolete? there's still plenty of users that run both Stable and Open Beta, I myself run at least 8 installs, and localize all my liveries to a single smaller 512 GB SSD for all of those installs.
  4. Tasks aren't set by the mission editor, they are set in the aircraft's config files.
  5. there's no way to avoid it at the moment, hopefully the updated parser resolves the issue, but I'm still testing some functions before I release.
  6. personel tend to rest fingers on the screen and the outside of the bezel to avoid accidently pressing osb at the wrong time. I've seen some of the F-15C Large MFDs and they look way worse smudges wise.
  7. You only need a 4K Card if the system is using Ray Reconstruction or Frame Generation, on a 2K and 3K Card, you will still get DLSS3.5, minus those features
  8. The issue was fixed internally a few weeks ago, but I may adjust some of the exception behavior before the next public version. Hopefully these issues are fixed w/ 1.1 parser and localization adjustments.
  9. If it's happening during PRESET_ON, It's likely because the app is trying to move the DCS Default Options.lua from the /Saved Games/DCS/ Root, to the /Presets/Default/ Store folder, and there is already an old options.lua file there.
  10. dont forget \AppData\ Folder
  11. Deep-Learning-Super-Sampling. Say you have an Expensive 4K 120Hz Screen or a VR HMD that has a really high display resolution. And You have a GPU bottleneck and cant render DCS at 4K 120FPS. With DLSS, The Game is rendered anywhere from 50% (or 1/4 of the pixels) to 85% of the original resolution, and the AI tensor cores filter and upsample them to the native display resolution. w/ minimal visual loss in quality, vs traditional Image Scaling. the work is done using nVidia/RTXs Tensor Cores vs the GPU, and uses AI to construct a vector based pipeline to anticipate what the pixels should look like during the filtering pass. So you could in theory, run the game at 1080p and upscale it to your 4K screen's resolution, and keep the frame rate of 1080p, with minimal to no VISUAL loss in quality.
  12. Frame Generation Requires DX12 or Vulkan. DLSS1.0, 2.0, 2.2, 3.0 or 3.5 Libraries can be used on DX11, DX12, or Vulkan. You will not be able to use Frame Generation or Ray Re-Construction commands unless your on DX12 or Vulkan though.
  13. From someone that produces content for film studios, Licensed trademarks and fees the last 5 years have become ridiculous. You wanna wear a Slurpee or Jurassic Park T-Shirt in a Monetized YT short?, Fork over $10K or Blur it out. Fun fact, that scene in Jurassic World, where the operator is wearing the original Jurassic Park T-Shirt, cost the production crew $45K in TM License and Art Fees. If Snoopy's happy, we're all happy, as for APKWS, maybe it wasn't Advanced enough or Precise enough..
  14. No they are basically trying to keep your account safe, especially if you are someone that purchased significant amounts, as 2FA is an extra security layer to prevent anyone from gaining access to your account through dis-honest or mis-leading methods.
  15. At this point in Technological evolution, Nearly everyone uses 2FA now, some services go as far as giving discounts if you have it set up, as it's extra security for you and the service provider. Saying your against 2FA is like buying a home, and removing the deadbolts and security system panel because it's one more thing to do when entering your home. And since the Internet is easily the shadiest place on earth, the same said home would be in the shadiest neighborhood for comparative example. All of my accounts especially those that involve any type of purchased content or subscriptions are protected by 2FA. My employer also uses 2FA for everything through their servers as well, and has for the last 5 or 6 years.
  16. This is where the term "Diminishing Returns" comes into play. While you could increase the polygon resolution to make that specific edge appear a little bit smoother, while adding 20-40% more polygons to the model. That specific edge is ONLY Visible at that angle and specific lighting conditions. And the ONLY Reason it's visible is because no matter how the smoothing groups are set up it's a hard edge. Increasing the curve from 24 sides to 48 sides wont make it smoother, just smaller flat edges. The Lot 20 has ~36 sides on it the engines, but it's also a sloping edge and not a hard edge.
  17. I was about to say, The community must've forgot the news article where RazBam said that ED Granted them access to the their Model. Same goes for the KC-130 and KC-MPRS
  18. Roller Coaster Tycoon.
  19. The Vertical stab is a corrupted normal, not really a texture issue.
  20. Compressing Folders makes load times extreme, plus hits on ram and disk during games as new assets need to be de-compressed. Honestly, if you dont want them, simply delete them. But 60 GB in 2023 is nothing, there's 12/18/22/44 TB Drives. I have Literally EVERY Module on my External M.2 and it's no where near taking up 2TB, It sits somewhere around 650 GB Total Folder Size, 133 GB is the \CoreMods\ and the \Bazar\ Folder for all the AI Aircraft, Weapons, Objects Shapes and Textures 53 GB is the \Mods\aircraft\ Folder for all Player Aircraft Modules Cockpit Shapes Textures and Systems Coding 365 GB is the \Mods\terrain\ Folder for all Terrains, Textures, Terrain Shapes etc. 8 GB is the \Mods\tech\ for Asset Packs Shapes and Textures, as well as GPS Systems, Shapes and Textures 60 GB is the \Mods\campaigns\. So Removing the Liveries Honestly in the grand scheme of things doesn't do anything ~ 5-10% of the total install size. There are more concerning things in the core files that need attention and cleansed.
  21. APKWS Just Needs to have the ability for it to detect any lasers set to the freq. from any source, and fire.
  22. There's a few problems with this: A. Removing all and giving a player a generic skin, when online, if a player chooses a dark camo, and you don't have it, it will represent the player in a generic grey livery, or something that stands out more, causing desync in player visuals and essentially cheating by making players non-camouflaged. B. When I polled server admins of the popular servers, they choose to have them installed, so Even if ED says "Make AI Skin Packs optional downloads", as soon as you try to play MP, most if not all server admins will have the packs installed, thus creating more MP Environment separation. Object textures and liveries are part of the core. If it's total DCS Install Size that's bothering you, then there are other aspects that take of space that have more of a reason to clean/fix than current CoreMods Liveries. This entire thread exists because SSD Prices 4 Years ago were insane. now you can get 4TB for $200 Easily 2TB for $100 etc. Market Storage Medium Prices (and their inflation) should not dictate how DCS is developed.
  23. What's the Difference between a Rocket and a Missile? According to everyone I know in the Navy, Guidance. APKWS Takes a unguided rocket, and gives it guidance, thus becoming a missile. older aircraft it was simply adding the guidance section, and firing them like normal rockets. newer aircraft SMS & DFCS need to know the weight of these items, the Guidance section alone adds 30lbs, x however many are loaded into the launcher x however many launchers are loaded.
  24. 60GB is nothing compared to other platforms of similar category and visual fidelity.
