  1. Let me clear things up. The ACLS turns of its glidepath tracking mode 2-3 secs before landing and goes into an attitude hold where it locks in the current attitude for the last part of the approach. Bouncing is due to work in progress suspension and wire trapping physics. There's a reason why there's a big WiP disclaimer in the video :pilotfly:
  2. Oooh, that's a great idea actually :) Hmm, will probably have to push the release by 2-3 years though :D
  3. Well we did post this a while back :P
  4. you're right, this has nothing to do with ED. :)
  5. We have some quite cool ideas for this, not ready to share yet though! :)
  6. This has really become a much bigger issue than it is, right now it's slower than it will be in most cases, and after 30 sec in the cockpit you won't even think about it, trust me :P
  7. Again, I understand your concern, but we've verified that AoA and glideslope are correctly implemented. You have pointed out that the alpha seems to high, yet the value you suggested is much higher than the actual value (hence would be worse) Yes landing speed is too high, doesn't affect the issue you're stating AoA in video is 15 units and glideslope is 3.5 as prescribed in manual, so don't worry. If you're worried, i can assure you that there's no problem with seeing the carrier properly while landing :joystick: TrackIR was used to record video, hence head position is adjusted based on how you sit and how you calibrate it Yes sure, you can play around with it as soon as we send you a build, but that is really far of the point of this post! :P And anyway, this is just a youtube video we put together to share our progress with the community, not really a FM validation test . So please treat it as what it is! I'm happy to discuss any more issues like this in private, off the forums, (add me on skype, Alex can provide you with my skype id) :)
  8. I'm sorry but I don't see what your point is, it's really easy to see the meatball while landing with the F14, just adjust the head position a bit from what you see in this video! Feel free to play around with it and test it out when we've released the airplane :)
  9. Actually, that would make the problem even worse. Fortunately we have a number of good sources contradicting that conversion (including other NAVAIR manuals for the F14) :P
  10. Thing you're missing is that it's not alpha degrees, but units ;) And yes, approach speed is too high at the moment for the given loadout (hence the WIP tag), performance is still being tuned a lot. But that won't change alpha & glideslope since 15 units of alpha is always used.
  11. I'm a pilot myself and this is actually quite common when you sit like you do while not landing :D Just lean forward and/or lift head a bit. edit: It's of course more important for carrier landings but we have verified that approach alpha and glideslope is correct so i think it's mainly a matter of viewpoint :)
  12. We're just using it in order to be able to test F-14 with as many different carriers as possible! :pilotfly:
  13. Guys, you have to understand that adding the Lantirn would be a major undertaking given the difference in avionics. The only thing decided so far in regards to the pod is that we won't do it from start. The F14 from the time period you're getting at launch wasn't actually even rated to drop bombs in real life even if it had the capability. If we do the Lantirn it will most likely be in a later strike update with improved avionics and so on as well. We're commited to making a great module and in order to do that we have to focus on the core features at first, we're a small Indie developer and we can't do everything at once :pilotfly:
  14. We have some really cool ideas for how TARPS will work in the sim and I personally believe a lot of you will really enjoy playing around with it. :D The F-14's from the time frame we're aiming for did not use Lantirn pods and hence the current plans are to not include them at launch. That said, everything is subject to change as you know; we might decide to add it at a later point for instance. The pod would add a fairly significant system to the development roadmap and i'm sure everyone would rather have a Tomcat without the lantirn earlier rather than a tomcat with lantirn later ;)
  15. Soon :music_whistling:
  16. From wikipedia: "Link 4C is fitted to the F-14 only"
  17. whuuut, i promise i fixed it! hehe :P does this happen in MP or SP for you?
  18. It zooms in around the currently selected waypoint except in A2A mode / Ground avoidance mode where it shows what's immediately ahead (1->10 km or something like that, can't remember exact number)
  19. fixed in latest internal build :)
  20. That was quick! Just enter 666 and ls/sku again...
  21. Thanks for the report, issue is known and I'm working on a fix :)
  22. Ah, thanks for the report, i checked code and it seems the missile doesn't enter its search mode before travelling a certain distance (this is wrong). Will fix it, hopefully for hot patch (no promise though).
  23. There is a bug where if you select attack before anf it fires in quick mode, it's fixed in code now and will be in next patch :)
  24. Hi guys, I'm looking into this but so far i have not been able to reproduce it unfortunately. Does it happen for all missions? Both SP and MP? Certain loadouts? What are your system specs?
