I've been using a G13 and have been really happy with it. Though .. it's unfortunately starting to give out. I switched to an Elgato Streamdeck. G13's last I checked were discontinued, and super expensive now if you can find them

MiG15 Mission 8 "Gas Tank on E" feedback
Apache600 replied to Quip's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Sorry bud, not sure how you're doing this, as you start the mission with an additional 300L (with the external tanks). When I tested it, I would drop the tanks (which weren't even empty at the time) when AWACS gave the go-ahead to engage. You're well over half way through the mission at that point. -
Updated 5/20/2020: Mission 8.6 for MiG-15 and F-86: Fail safe helo F10 radio operations fixed, and missing radio comms restored MiG-21 eh? One of the most fun aircraft to fly. I hope that Magnitude will be able to address some of the issues that have been popping up.

Alright guys, I had the chance to look more closely at all of it now that I'm home, thanks again for the reports. As per noted, the Mi-8 wouldn't depart, but oddly enough, the CH-47 in the F-86 version did. I re-did the fail safe's, and now the Mi-8 now departs .... but after take off, it would just sit and hover over the enemies and get shot up. So some further tweaking was required, and it works. The Mi-8 version DOES require the pilot to use the fail safe and force the helo to take-off. Hopefully when the "landing" feature is fixed, it will work without need of the fail safe. The mission has been updated and sent to ED. They should be in the next beta update. - Apache600

I'll be giving it a test when I get home (out on a work trip and only on a laptop). I took another close look at my trigger set up the other day, and didn't find a discrepancy. Not saying one doesn't exist, I just didn't see it. unfortunately, I can not share an unprotected mission file.
-
There are now F10 radio menu options to force the helo to take off. When it lands, there's a timer that starts, and if the game detects the helo has not lifted off in a certain amount of time, the radio menu will be made available allowing the player to force it off the ground.

Hello Rattler, yes there is a way to replay a specific mission (outside of the campaign progression) ... but I would guess it wouldn't be mission 4, as you don't (well, shouldn't) be pulling the trigger at all in that mission :) I'd bet you're thinking of mission 5. Anyway, all missions can be accessed in it's directory folder. c:/program files/eagle dynamics/mods/campaigns/CAMPAIGNNAME Just select "Mission" from the main page of DCS, and click on "My Missions" and then find that file path. If you have DCS saved on a drive other than C:, you'll just have to copy and paste the mission file over to some place in C:, as the "My Missions" only lets you look around in that drive. - Apache600

Sorry to hear that mission 15 was giving you a rough time. What you can do (and something I use when testing triggers and what-not in longer missions) is use time acceleration to get out there, and then if shot down, or you want to try something different, click the "watch replay" button. Then the mission will start again but you're not in the cockpit. Accelerate time to a ridiculous speed, let your previous self fly you out there, and then when you get to where you want to be (and after slowing time back down to 1x) press ESC and then select "take control". Hope that helps a bit!

MiG-15/F-86 Campaign Announcement
Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
you're very welcome some1. If you insert a different plane into the campaign, there are some additional triggers you'll have to adjust in order to make the mission(s) work properly. Most notably, the sound files will not work, as they are tuned for the MiG-15's radio freqs. Sorry bud -
Help in mission 15 "final nail"
Apache600 replied to Eviscerador's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
The MiG is tricky because of it's unstable characteristic at high speed. If you find you don't want to have all that push on the stick, you could always do a series of S turns. Keeping the plane in a bank will put the lift vector off to the side, requiring not as much nose down force. -
Weird AI behavior in Mission 8.2
Apache600 replied to sthompson's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Tested the mission the other day, and the Su-17 flew his correct path, and started hitting the units around the MLRS's as he was supposed to. The MLRS's also fired their rockets properly, and yeah they're going for targets pretty far down range. The smoke on their rockets visually burns out really really quick, after a matter of only a couple hundred feet. I'll run it a few more times to see if the A.I. goes awry. -
Thanks for the report, I'm happy to say that after testing it in 2.5.6, AND in the newest soon to be released version of the campaign, all these problems have been fixed. I saw the issue you mentioned about the air supremacy A-10's :P I fixed that as well.

Mission 13 - P-51 Crashes with chinook on runway
Apache600 replied to illern's topic in The Museum Relic Campaign
Here's an interesting find, I had the triggers set up for the delayed P-51 departure (by 48 seconds to be exact) .... just that the delayed start trigger wasn't working properly. It will be now though -
Interesting .... regardless, I've updated the mission for the next patch of the campaign that will be released soon, that has a Fail Safe against this issue from coming up again. Thanks again for letting me know about it.

MiG-15/F-86 Campaign Announcement

Thanks guys! Really glad to hear you all enjoyed it. -
Thanks guys, I may have to make a "fail safe" option for this mission. Those missiles shouldn't be missing their targets.

Help in mission 15 "final nail"

@ Shadow KT, that's basically the strategy i used. Just gotta continually check your six, and make sure you're running the correct direction for your friendly line. -

Not my area of expertise, sorry bud. You'd have to talk to someone who's been running servers. Might be able to find someone in the Multiplayer / Multiplayer Server Administration section of the forums. -

[INVESTIGATING] Losing control of Walleye
Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in Bugs and Problems
I've never had the bomb fall short. My experience with it has the bomb flattening out it's trajectory, and gliding well past the target. It isn't a slow onset either, when I move the TDC to select a new target after the drop, the white box flight path marker on the MCDU shoots to the bottom of the display. Then it's unrecoverable -

Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in User Created Missions General
nope, nothing for persistence. That's something you'd have to set up on your own. Crack the Channel is one of the longest duration missions I've made, so what I would recommend for your red air activity is edit the time for it to spawn. Their triggers are way at the bottom of the list. -
Anyone else run into this issue? Shortly after release, after having acquiring a target, I lose complete control of the AGM-62 when I try and adjust it's flight path. Basically, after I release the bomb and it's gliding towards a target (and the flight path vector is super imposed under the center of the crosshairs) if I choose to switch targets, the bombs fins seems to go full deflection and I lose all control for the rest of the bombs flight. Anyone have this happening too? I get it really consistently, 90+ percent of the time.

Apache600's Community Missions
Apache600 replied to Apache600's topic in User Created Missions General
I hear that, got a 1 & 3 year old at home Looking at the mission, I've got the red air threat spawning at 83 minutes. A few other air threats (defense type ones) will spawn when you reach certain parts of the mission, or travel to far to the west. Hot Parking Spot spawns should not effect the mission, as long as you are simply just changing the pre-existing aircraft from "Takeoff from Ground" to "Takeoff from parking hot" The problem with the carrier spawning is unfortunately something I have no control over. Hope this helps you out!
