hey hlfritz, unfortunately I'm not sure. With Crack the Channel, different Red Air assets appear at different times, though I think I know the specific Red Air threat you're talking about. If I'm correct, then THAT Red Air threat was pushed back a little further into the mission (can't remember exactly, but it might be around the 1 hour mark, give or take a few) (by the way, nice profile pic. I've got a Triumph 675. Use to track an R6 way back in the day) -

This is an all-in-one style Air-Ground, Air-Air attack mission for the Normandy map, and supports every flyable platform in DCS. All Fixed wing aircraft start at either Saint Pierre du Mont, Deux Jumeaux, or Cricqueville-en-Bessin. While all the helicopters start at Cricqueville-en-Bessin. There is also a fleet sailing North - South, starting just north of the Land Based spawning airfields. The Kuznestov has 3 Su-33’s, the Stennis has 4 F-18’s, the Tarawa has 4 AV-8B’s, and the Carl Vinson has 2 slots for “Mod of Interest” (Defaulted to F-18’s). ** Special Notes for Platforms - AH-64, 3rd and 4th slot = no FCR/RFI - Bf-109, 3rd and 4th slot = no flare gun - C-101CC, 2nd slot in respective group = no IFR hood, 3rd slot in respective group = solo - C-101EB, 2nd slot = rear seat NS430 - CEII, 3rd slot = solo - I-16, 3rd and 4th slot = landing torch - L-39C, 3rd slot = solo; 4th slot = solo, no gunsight (with NS430) - L-39ZA, 3rd and 4th slot = solo - M-2000C , 3rd and 4th slot = DDM Sensor - Mi-24, 3rd and 4th slot = no IR suppressor - Mi-8, 3rd slot = no IR suppressor, no additional armor, no cargo halfdoor; 4th slot = no IR suppressor - MiG-19, 3rd and 4th slot = no RWR - Mosquito, 3rd and 4th slot = no flare gun - UH-1, 3rd and 4th slot = no IR suppressor - Yak-52, 2nd slot in respective group = solo Ground Mission Difficulty definitions: Unattended Depots: No enemy return fire. Easy - Intended to be completed by a single player. Air defense includes small arms and vehicle mounted machine guns. Medium - Can be completed by a more competent single player, but really intended for 2+ players. Air defense includes AAA vehicles (guns) some with radar capability. And a possible short range IR SAM unit. (AAA for WWII) Hard - Intended for a small group, or team, of players. Air defense includes multiple SAM's, both IR and Radar. (AAA, Flak for WWII) Air Mission Difficulty definitions: (These missions are mainly built for 1-2 players, except for the "Large Cap Group's" air missions. Those are more suited for larger groups of player's flying together.) Easy - Either a few non-retaliatory aircraft, or a single fighter or two with guns only. (Vietnam and Modern enemies may have IR missiles) Medium - One or more retaliatory aircraft. Short range missiles possible. Hard - Multiple retaliatory aircraft with possibility of both short and long range missiles. For “Large CAP Group’s” all difficulties have A-A missiles. None of the aircraft have ordinance already loaded. So don't forget to load something! Only Mi-8's, Mi-24's, and Huey's are listed as "Medevac" and are the only ones that can do rescue mission pickups. In order to activate a mission, you MUST select it through the F10 radio menu option. Once completed with a mission, you will have the option of selecting a new mission. If you selected a mission that you no longer wish to complete, or have selected a mission in error, you can use the "Auto-complete" radio option to delete the units and go back to the main menu. ** NOTE - if you select the "auto-complete" option, you can no longer select that mission in the future. ** All Helo Missions require at least one helicopter that can pick up troops. That would only be the Mi-8, Mi-24,or the UH-1 at this time. AWAC's is available at 263Mhz (Chan 11 for aircraft that need it, Chan G for Viggen) AWAC is set to Immortal and Invisible. Tanker aircraft (Texaco) is operated on a respawnable script. It is also set to Invisible. If the tanker runs out of fuel, a new one will spawn. Haha, of course it worked. After a day of failures, it just needed to shut down and think about what it did for the night. I'll still look into it and see if I can replicate an issue.

Howdy Folks, hoping for some insight here if possible. I had to take a 2 month hiatus (work) from DCS and when I got back and did all the DCS patches and Rift S updates, I noticed that I no longer had sound from both my PC speakers and my Rift S headset in DCS. I really liked this as my speaker system could put out bass that the Rift S could only dream of. Now it's either one or the other, but what's really weird is that when I am running DCS, and I go to the Oculus Menu, then DCS sounds are on both speakers and headset. But when I go back into the sim, I lose headset sound. Any chance for folks that operate this way that you could share with me your settings. I'd be extremely grateful. - Apache600

Make sure you don't get into the "chase down" scenario. Because both you and the B-52's do nearly the same speed. If you're coming straight at them, be sure not to let them go whizzing by, or you'll never catch up. Instead, plan to start turning well before you cross paths, so that by the time you're on a parallel course, you are near enough to them that the minute speed difference you have can make up for any deviation in your turn. You really have to lead these guys and plan it appropriately.

Fantastic news. Looks like the trigger for the destruction of the factory only requires the bomb to be passed into a "bomb in zone" trigger area. The area isn't that big, less than a 1/4 mile diameter. If the bomb sails long, and still penetrates that area, it sets off the trigger. I'll have to create a better "fail safe" in a future update. I'm assuming you never dropped the bombs though, correct? If you had, and destroyed the factory yourself, that would also trigger the sequence. I just tried the mission and didn't have any clipping into the ground issues. The route that I took is the same as that depicted in the "spoiler" tag from this post here. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2872322&postcount=7 If you try this route, and you still get the issues, please let me know. Because I could not replicate it. I was using the most recent open beta available at the time of this post. - Apache600

Thanks for putting up this thread. - Ability to create localized weather. - Radio Freq's can be copied to other similar aircraft (doesn't even do that within the same group). - Warehouse overhaul. (UI is pretty clunky) Limiting certain weapons, or restricting them to a zero count doesn't always work ... USA carriers in particular. - NAV lights On/Off for AI. - AAA "fire into area" so AAA can fire into the sky (like ground units can "fire at point"). - Volume adjustments for imported sound files. - Spawn client aircraft "on ground" like helo's.

Thank you highwymn, always great to hear about someone enjoying the campaign, and really appreciate you sharing your thoughts about it. @rajdary- I've had something in the works for a looooooong time. The story is almost done, but with changing positions at work, moving across the country, a toddler and an infant ... and possibly a job change soon .... it's been hard to have the free time for it. What free time i have had with DCS has been working with some of those community SP/MP missions. Hopefully there will be some free time so I can get cranking on the new campaign. and lastly, sorry for the delayed response mrmat01. so you've got it all squared away? -
