As the topic sais: I struggle with the CBU-97 (and other CBU variants) against armored targets. Normally I would use GBU or Mavericks against tanks when selecting weapons myself, however I see that JTACs tends to request CBUs if I carry them. 1 - I've entered the wind informed to me by the JTAC, however I still seem to miss when bombing in CCRP mode. I do not change any other settings except changing from CCIP to CCRP. 2 - Is it possible to take out several targets with one bomb? Is this why JTAC seem to request them? Thanks for helping.

I'm using LAlt + ' where I have tried various both default and custom made weapon loads. Everything is loaded except Maverics...

After updating to 1.2.3 both DCS and Tacview I get the following error message when trying to Record DCS flights: "Please ensure the DCS World is properly installed and your have write access to its folder" As far as I know I do have write access to the folder. What might be wrong?

Hi, After updating to 1.2.3 my A-10 won't accept any Maverics when trying to reload while in a multiplayer mission. Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi, Is the serial I own for each module restricted to only one computer or can I install them on two? Steam has such a feature I’m looking for. You can install your games on several computers, but you can only run the games from one computer at a time. I do not intend to run the modules on two computers at the same time, so a solution similar to the one Steam is offering would be sufficient. My problem is that I work away from home for about a week and I'd like to use DCS:Combined Arms when at work. Is this possible? Thank you

Exactly. And that is basically all I need, at least as long as they don't intend to implement the full JTAC datalink. As you say the effect in the A-10 is the same regardless.

Is it possible to assign a tasking as JTAC to an A-10 via datalink? By that I mean the same way as the AI JTAC can send me the target directly to me in the A-10 when he sais "Stand by data".

Nice input from various persons in this thread. It has been interesting to follow. Thank you all. I tried one of the methods described; to run in and shoot at about 1 mile. It works, since I am able to kill one or two soldiers on every run. Shooting from a longer distance I have not been able to kill any previously. I still find it much more difficult to kill a soldier than a truck though and that I find a bit strange... Being the thread starter, I would still like to ask one final question: Based on the information in this thread - is the GAU-8 working as it should against infantry, or should it be adjusted?

This solved the problem for me. After just opening and saving the MP-US Battalion Day Advance - Maykop mission I was able to enter both JTACs, SAMs and tanks. Although this is a fix, I do not find it satisfactory... It should be unnecessary to do it this way..?

Still no-joy... I can not see any JTACs available at all. See first picture below. After first entering an A-10, selecting the JTAC and pressing Right Alt-J to enter it, I get an error message as displayed in the upper left corner of the 2nd picture below:

Yes, I can understand that, and this is also what I want to achieve. I'd like to point out targets for my friend flying the DCS:A-10. It still does not seem to work for me however as I'll explain below... And this is my main problem. Although I am, in a few missions, able to enter Abrams tanks and then press B for the JTAC function, I have not yet been able to enter any units designated as JTACs by the mission. So far I've only tried missions starting with MP-US (as I assume MP-US means Multiplayer US missions?) in this folder: ...\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\tech\CombinedArms\Missions\EN\Single Just now for example, I hosted a multiplayer server and started the MP-US Battalion Day Advance - Maykop mission. I then selected the first JTAC unit in the list: My first confusion is that when I select a ground unit I'm not situated in the cockpit like what happens when I select an A-10. Instead I'm presented with the F10 menu map. So what unit am I? I do not know, but I find a JTAC unit and select it: I then press Right Alt-J indicating I'd like to enter and control that vehicle, but this is where I get the Unable to enter vehicle: wrong vehicle type error message as indicated in the upper left corner: I try to enter all other units in the mission, but get the same result on every one of them. As mentioned above I have been successful in entering some tanks from time to time, but not in this mission apparently (can't remember what mission it was in right now) So basically I'm stuck... What am I doing wrong? Should I try some other missions? Suggestions and download link would be appreciated.

I see. I'm not really interested in designing missions on my own. I'm more interested in playing missions already set up for JTAC, however they do not seem to work... I see a list of JTAC for both red and blue side on the list you refer to. What does 2 instead of 1 mean? In a mission I just checked there was a 1 there, and I would assume this means that there is one JTAC available? However no JTACs are playable in the mission.

Yes, I have no $ symbol, so that is ok. In a mission, using the F10 menu I do see the tank icon on a few units, but never JTACs. Usually the symbol appears on SAMs that are far from the front or M1 Abrams tanks. Yes, I've checked several missions with the Mission Editor. Every unit, including JTACs, have set that "Player can drive" or something like that. However I still get the Unable to enter vehicle: wrong vehicle type message when trying to "board" them... Maybe you have a suggestion to a mission where I easily can join as JTAC for my friend in an A-10?

Hi, I would like to play the role as JTAC with my friend in a A-10. I got a tips that I could try the missions starting with MP-US in the mission folder. Although I bought DCS:CA several months ago I've never used it so I have no idea how it works... According to the manual I can enter a vehicle by selecting it in the F10 map screen, and press Right Alt - J. I could not find any playable JTAC in those missions... Only flyable A-10s...

Does this mean that the GAU-8 has been modified in the upcoming patch? Sounds fair enough. But how many runs did you have to do before all targets were taken out? If you took out the last 8 in run number two, that sounds good. If you had to run in several times hitting no more than one or two, there still is a problem... I'm sure the GAU is way more effective against infantry than what it is in the sim as of today..?

Hi, Although I own Combined Arms, I have not yet tried it. Are there any good missions available where I can be JTAC for a friend in the A-10C? Maybe there are some JTAC tutorials available somewhere also? Thank you!
