Yes. Let us have some videos so I can lubricate my expectations in the sheer awesomeness of this module.

I feel that we must sort out this issue through trial by combat.....with Mig-21's! :D -

Brave words from someone who abandoned Sweden for Austria. XD Trying to screw Denmark may be too big a task even for me. -

You are totally taking my pants off with those images. Can't wait. XD -
Hey, I only live some 40 km's away from Helsingborg. I could pick up a preview version personally. ;)

I would imagine it has something to do with forming a proper oppinion on it. If there wasn't an embargo, every one who received a copy would, in the name of getting more viewers/readers, think "Oh shit, I have to put up something as soon as possible to be ahead of the other guys", which would most likely result in half-assed or incomplete oppinions of the product, which could result in bad oppinions of the product which would generally be bad for LN and bad for the writer/streamer as their professionalism would be dented by bringing half-formed opinions. Having a set date where everyone can bring material and opinions on the product gives everyone a fair chance to thoroughly test the product, form a fair opinion on it's quality and write/produce a proper article/video that properly displays the merits and shortcommings. It's sorta the same way reviewing of full video games takes place. ;)

The All Things Combined Past Release Date Discussions

Well both ways have their merits and problems. Say nothing, and you wont get caught having made incorrect "promises". On the other hand a lot of people, like me, hate to be left out of the loop, have no idea whats going on and in general being ignored by a developer and because of that I like how LN is continously keeping contact with their "audience" and trying to keep them informed. Now of course, this has also lead to some things that was said did not quite come true just yet. While this is of course regrettable, one would be well advised to remember that LN does not run this show, it's all ED and THEY are the ones that decides when something is released. Unfortunately, as a software programmer, I know all too well what being subject to another party's time table can do for your own production, and for that reason I cannot blame LN in any way for what most likely is not really a fault on their part. -

I actually find this to be a good test of patience. Waiting for this module is like being a monk, sitting in front of the altar (computer) waiting for inner peace. Thank you for the pre-release Zen experience Leatherneck. XD -
Was great fun to fly the campaign. My poor KA-50 had some hairy moments dodging hailstorms from the SU-27's until our F15's could chase them away. Will definitely be back for the next campaign as well ;)

Good to hear. Any landing you can walk away from is a good landing ;)

When I wanna do landings with the MI-8 that doesn't look overly cautious and slow, I tend to find that I always use the same method. As I approach my landing zone going at some 250 km/h, I usually drop my collective quite a bit to loose altitude and at the same time I pitch back to kill speed. I keep the collective low to make sure that I dont gain a lot of altitude while braking down. While i am doing this, I keep an eye on the gauge indicating how fast I'm ascending or descending (dont remember its name) and try to keep it around 5 m/s descending. This is usually pretty straight forward. Once I get below 40 km/h forward speed, the descending speed will increase dramatically though, DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN! I cannot emphasize how important it is that you keep an eye on the descend needle when you approach 40 km/h. It will litterally go from steady 5 m/s, to +20 m/s within a few seconds if you are not paying attention and drop you like a rock. Adjust with A LOT more collective to keep your descend speed at around 5m/s. From there it should be somewhat easy to put your MI-8 down. When you get close to the ground, keep a descend speed of about 2-3 m/s, and preferrably if you keep a forward momentum of around 5-10 km/h that lets you keep an eye on what you are landing.

[X52Pro] Removing Throttle Detent (1280px Photos!)
Cruiser18 replied to Devrim's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Very nice. I just tried this out on my regular X-52 and it works like a charm. Thx a lot man. The throttle detent was always a pain in the butt for me ;) -
Don't have time to look up the proper names for the systems, but the A-10 has a switch that you flip that helps stabilize the A-10 for when you fire the cannon so you don't go all over the place. Also remember that the Gau-8 fires at a much faster rate, almost constantly, contrary to the machine guns on other jets that has a small interval between firings that allows the opposite forces to affect the plane. The Gau-8 is more like a constant force that is countered by the stabilizer switch, hence the lag of shaking. The A-10 is also a much heavier and more stable platform than the other "flimsy" jets.

You're welcome ;) I always use the HMS for quick snap-to targeting if I know my shkval is way off-target. Saves a lot of time.

Is it just me or is the wind really rough on this mission? Like the mission. Making people having to land on the front deck is insane though ;)

Maverick-X have a look at this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607 It's basically a small program that keeps a duplicate directory with your mods, than can then be re-applied every time a patch restores the modded files.

I went through the exact same as you. I had been running my Black Shark with an X52 for a long time using just the joystick twist, and finally I decided to buy the Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals. Getting your body to adjust to something new from what has already become a reflex is a massive undertaking. I found myself having massive problems trying to teach my legs that they now where in control of the rudder. After a good number of hours, you will slowly get adjusted to it though, and now I dont even think about it when I use my pedals to turn. Best thing I can recommend is first of all: Remove the rudder from the joystick twist. Force yourself to use the pedals. Second: Put a good number of hours into the free flight instant action. Fly low in a town with big building and twist and turn in and out between the buildings. Do this for a while and your body will start adjusting to this new way of controlling the chopper. Before you know it, you will be able to make small fine adjustments with the rudder without thinking about it, and using your legs to adjust the rudder sure beats the twist when having to limp your damaged chopper home and having to hold the rudder at an angle for almost 30 minutes. :P
