  1. That's Awesome ! I'll give it a try.
  2. Since my last comment, when I am on "MARK" and want to create a waypoint I do this: 1. I go to the Waypoint menu on CDU. 2. I do FUNCT+9 (MSN) on UFC to switch from Mark to Mission. 3. Because the CDU will usually have a MARK point selected I "go to" last waypoint I remember. 4. I create a new waypoint with my custom name and enter the coordinates. I never touch the rotating switches by the CDU, I only use UFC. So far, no problems. If you have an easier way of switching from Mark to Mission, please share. Cheers.
  3. Thanks guys, I must be trying to edit MARK point. Next time I have the problem I'll grab the video with FRAPS. Cheers!
  4. Hi guys, I have a problem with the CDU as the title suggest but not sure about the circumstances. The problem appears usually after I switch to Mark and then back to Msn with (UFC)func->8 "MARK", then (UFC) func->9 MSN. Then when I try to enter coordinates in MGRS format (with coordinates switched to MGRS of course) I get the "CDU INPUT ERROR" or similar message. I am trying to input the coordinates from (UFC)func-> 3, that is "WP". It doesn't matter if I try to create a new waypoint or modify an existing one. It happens regularly so I wonder what am I doing wrong ? Any idea? Cheers
  5. Hi guys, I am creating a mission, where I have 7 A-10 machines. I wonder if there is an easy way to give them all the same set of waypoints? Or maybe is it possible to add the waypoint to database of airfields waypoints ? Cheers
  6. MikiBzh, thanks, much appreciated.
  7. Thanks! I have (so far) found information on the "minimum safe distance" on probably all of the weapons used in the game by A-10. Looks like an interesting manual. Cheers.
  8. If you know a weapon kill/blast/fragmentation radious - or whatever it is called, you can calculate the "Danger close distance". If you are playing as a JTAC, it is a crucial information...
  9. Hi guys, I wonder if anybody could hint me on how to get my hands on DCS World, weapons explosion range ? Is there a database editor ? Or maybe a ready chart ? Cheers
  10. @ZaltysZ, Thanks for the hint It works for my SSD. I moved all temp directories to another drive. I think DCS is using the C:/Users/User_name/Saved Games/DCS/Tracks while you fly...so I moved the directory to another drive, using the below tutorial: http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-move-windows-7-personal-folders-my-documents-another-drive.htm We'll see how it'll go... Cheers
  11. I would say, depends what you want. If you want F-15, buy F-15! If you are into strategy games, you are a big fan of tanks / APCs or Anti Air vehicles...but still playing DCS simulations, you've read the "Firestrike 7/9" or "Danger Close" or other book about JTAC guys and feel the urge to JTAC yourself, you are a mission designer and looking for more control over a mission as a Game Master...then buy Combined Arms ? :-)
  12. I can feel a . . .
  13. I tried and same here.
  14. Have you checked in the mission editor if you have sufficient JTAC, commander, game master players on the "red/blue" side ? Also, I am guessing MANPAD needs to be marked as "player can drive" ?
  15. Wow. That's great! Cheers.
  16. What do you mean? Is MANPAD equipped with binoculars view and laser designator? I can't check it now.
  17. What I am seriously missing is an Infantry JTAC. If I create a mission where I would like to place a JTAC behind enemy lines, maybe with a group of soldiers for protection, preferably on a hill top I have to put a humvee or an APC! This is rediculous. Couldn't we have a model of manpad infantry with SOFLAM instead? Somebody please, please, please fix that!
  18. A guy in our squadron created a mission where he was in a role of the Game Master. He was also doing all the ATC and ground units voices using morphing software. IMHO it was the best game experience ever. You have to have some acting and directing skills to do it right, next to the game skills. The ability to talk to the ground units instead of just listening to messages puts the game up on a different level. Here's video from the mission:
  19. 1.2.8 Open Beta Preliminary Change Log says: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122086
  20. Hi, I was playing JTAC in CA and was laser marking targets to get range or coordinates and that made me wonder...Would some of the better equipped vehicles detect my laser and open fire in the real world ? I had a quick google search and found some information on BEA Systems website: Cheers. EDIT: I know it's only a beta.
  21. Ptako: It is more a matter of preference. The guys I play with prefer MGRS in A-10. Also, I entered the server with MGRS set as default, so there was no such option... No Carrier: Thanks. Found it under "general" controls. Works great.
  22. Hi guys, I started playing with CA and during my last game I had a couple of A-10s and a KA-50 on my stack. I bumped into a problem. The KA-50 takes L-L coordinates, but A-10 preferred the MGRS. I wonder if there is a way to switch between the two, while you look through binos ? Sorry if I am duplicating another thread like this. I'll remove it if I do. Thanks
  23. I don't want to create another thread about binos before somebody confirm this: When I switch to binos, as soon as I move the mouse, even a tiny bit, the view shoots up and I am looking at clouds. I can normally move mouse down and start using the binos, but it is a major discomfort when I am switching between binos and the normal view. Any idea ? Thanks.
  24. ENO, that's a good one. You just need to find PATIENT hog drivers to fly with.
