Gah! I bought a DFI lanparty UT RDX200 and it hated my Opty. Motherboard is Asus A8V-E SE getting 2.2 out of it atm...but had lock ups at 2.3 so must buy better memory....! What you running the 165 at Fudd?

I think you're right about trying to overclock first. Will try that and see how I get on. Thanks for the heads up on the noob guide. DFI MB's dont support Opterons...which sucks!

Asus A8V-E Deluxe I think... was looking at getting a DFI LanParty UT NF4 Ultra-D (MB-014-DF). Doh! Thats SLI! or this one Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe Crossfire. or this one MSI K9A Platinum Crossfire. Oh and my memory is cheap value corsair pc3200 DDR.

Thanks for your replys...I would like to upgrade the motherboard so I can overclock the opteron...and I was looking at a crossfire board, but no idea which one. I am a bit anxious at overclocking...mainly cos I have zero experience! I suppose I was being a little lazy and thinking I could just buy a newer cpu instead :smilewink: Running opteron at stock speed!

System atm: Opteron 146 2gb cheap ram ATI x1900XTX 1280x1024 anti aliasing 4x antiscopic filtering 8x Everything high apart from vis rng and shadows. Looking to upgrade one of these to get vis rng to high without getting 6fps :(. ATM I get 10 fps over towns and as a ground pounder this is clearly unacceptable. Reducing the resolution isn't an option either. Probably looking at replacing the cpu. Any advice more than welcome.

I found a post a while back which suggested that when you change something in the options it breaks trackir next time you enter the game. An observation on my part is that I only seem to have to delete the file in the Input folder. This game is amazing and with trackir it's incredible!

After pinning the problem down to ch manager...I decided to delete the test map and lo and behold problem solved...my head hurts...:doh: Must resist fiddling next time...got a fighterstick coming tomorrow ....here's hoping I dont screw up again lol....:music_whistling: Thanks for pointing out the bleedin obvious! :D

What's wierder is that it's not affecting the A10!

Just tried without any controllers plugged in and still the same wierdness. Also with CH mamanger closed down! Left side flaps, full right side flaps half full as image!

I was flying normally this morning. I stopped the game for a bit and played around with my CH manager software...shut that down...started lock on. Suddenly I cannot start my engines in parked mode (Su25T), the engine light blinks...also my flaps seem to be jammed left fullflaps and right half flaps....flaps do not respond to the correct key! Arg! Whats going on?! When I start with engines on and in flight, flaps work and the engines can be turned off and on. I have reinstalled and still have the same problem!!!

I am assuming you have it and can't get it work. Look here Used the search function ^^

Thanks chaps! I've got a CH throttle which I love dearly (must get my head around the programming software...!) I think my choices are replace or get the CH JS...Arg I hate making decisions!! Anyone know how to enable FF with more than one joystick attached...currently I only get FF with only the JS plugged in.... Also have an Ergodex which is the bees whatsits! :)

My trusty Saitek Evo Force got knocked over the other day and last night the trigger finally failed to respond. :joystick: This leaves me with a dilema...do I go and replace it ...like for like or do I save up and get a ch or equivalent non FF joystick...discuss! :helpsmilie: Lock on doesn't really afford any benefits to FF but I play a bit of IL2 and will miss FF in Storm of War (love FF for knowing when I will stall on a turn and also the gun shake)! Any comments greatly appreciated!

I've wandered into work more than once with those silly silver dots on my glasses! Solved that now with the cap... which doesn't look so dumb!
