  1. Ok. I guess they have improved since I tried it last summer. But are they precise enough to register a finger gesture to flick a switch? This is what I see as the hurdle to overcome in VR hand controls, since you can't feel the finger touching the switch. This is why I think a touch controller, with buttons may be the way to go, for now. But if LeapMotion can register my hand and finger pointing at a switch or button, and then register a finger movement that activates that switch, it would definately be superior to using hand controllers. Aren't they working on a new version, BTW?
  2. The Rb75 should launch of the rail just like any other Maverick or Sidewinder, for that matter. It may climb after launch, depending on launch parameters. Cool skin, BTW! :)
  3. This is the same on the Viggen, but 'Benfixering' has nothing to do with that :) This is the straps that you connect to the boots, so they will be retracted from the rudderpedals in case of ejection. Edit: What you are reffering to is called 'Saxlänk nosställ - KOPPLAD" in the checklist.
  4. :v: I bet that was on the agenda for a friday lunch meeting, at some point....
  5. No problem! It wouldn't surprise me at all if the crazy SAAB engineers toyed with the idea of an ejectable tailfin at some point ;)
  6. If mentioned, please disregard. I miss the SNURK button on the stick. It's the autopilot disengage button. It cancels SPAK, ATT and HÖJD if engaged. I also would like a toggle for the trigger safety catch. As of now you either hold it in ARM or use different buttons for ARM and SAFE. It would be nice to use the same pushbutton to ARM and SAFE. The master mode selector, weapon selector and intervall rotaries should have a clockwise rotation and a counter clockwise rotation command. Pretty pleeease!! :)
  7. Well, it depends on how well we will be able to control switches and buttons in the cockpit with the controllers... Yes, one would have to let go of the stick or throttle to grab a touch controller to interact with the cockpit. But today I have to let go of controls to grab the mouse or trackball to do the same... I'm thinking of putting some velcro on my controllers and my thighs, so I can place them there when I'm on the HOTAS. Best way would be to just use the hands, of course. And I have no doubt there will be VR gloves in the near future that will allow us to do that. I'm not sure the LeapMotion is good enough for this purpose, just yet.
  8. Feels like sitting in the real cockpit! I have pixel density at 1.5 and can read anything when zooming and leaning in. I think the FPS issues are part due to the Viggen module and part DCS 1.5.6.
  9. Nah, you got it right! ;) Difference between regular and training ARAK pods. The regular launched all at once (with timed delay) and the training pod could be set to singles or all. But the pilot had no way of changing this in flight. And as Cobra stated, if they allow for trainingpods and a singe/all setting, it will be perfectly realistic.
  10. Sounds like a reasonable solution.
  11. RagnarDa, LNS developer, says it should be fixed in the next update.
  12. I guess they will. And I hope they keep these mirrors as an option. I only fly VR and need to conserve FPS, so I normally turn mirrors off. But I like having the mirrors on as it increases immersion and makes the cockpit look more "alive". Better than turning the mirrors away, at least.
  13. Cobra replied in another thread about mirrors, that the mirrors currently in the Viggen have 0 impact on FPS.
  14. Don't know where you got that from, but it's not correct. The fin could be folded, on ground, by a mechanic, but otherwise it stayed put.
  15. I believe the Oculus Touch support is new from 1.5.6..? I haven't seen it before, but then again, the Oculus Touch controller haven't been out that long, and I just recently installed 1.5 to fly the Viggen. AFAIK the hands can't interact with the cockpit, and they don't align with the controllers. But I read Wags commenting in the Input/Output forum that it's very early implementation.
  16. Nice! Looking forward to fridays update.
  17. Make sure you haven't mapped the brake axes to roll. This is often a problem in DCS because it automatically maps any controller you have connected.
  18. I wish I learned more from MY experiences... ;-)
  19. No, but because I served in the Swedish Airforce as a mechanic on the Viggen, and I know how to read ;)
  20. I couldn't agree more, BlackLion! Especially this: Module makers, please take note of this. :)
  21. Yeah, half is pretty much a big difference ;) Edit: Hope that didn't sound condescending. Didn't mean it that way. :)
  22. Yeah, that's true. Also, the canopy lever should be held forward to close, then the button is pushed in while folding the handle forward to lock the canopy. The reverse for opening :) But then again, how much effort should it take to open and close a canopy? ;)
  23. The real Viggen didn't like too much downforce on the nosewheel either. :)
  24. I made a user curve for the rudder input, that is very weak around center, but scales to full deflection. That calmed things down. Will be interesting to see what the steering output RagnarDa mentioned will do, as it seems like you have to keep NWS input at a minimum when rolling at high speed. My curve: 0 1 3 12 32 47 60 70 80 90 100
  25. This must be a new feature of 1.5.6. It's probably mentioned in the change log, that I'm too lazy to read. But I was shocked to suddenly see two floating gloves appearing in my Viggen! My daughter came into the room as I was flying the Viggen in VR. She picked up the Touch controllers, which switched them on, so the sensors could see them... They don't do anything yet, but clearly ED has plans for them..! Oh, and a bug report. They should be white, or Green Nomex, in the Viggen! ;)
