Thanks for the reply. That's basically what I've been trying to do. Make my primary as number 2 and secondary as number 1. Can't seem to figure out how to get this done... even in registry. Using Ultramon to swap primary and secondary for now but it's still chore to switch them every time.

Need help Hello. I've read through most of the posts and configured my dual monitors to be correct proportion but have somewhat different problem than what most were having. I have secondary monitor (1600x1200) on the left and primary (1920x1200) on the right. I followed the instructions here and setup ABRIS and Shkval on the left and main camera on the right. Problem is that the display starts on my main monitor on the right and spans to the right side ignoring my secondary monitor. In other words, left edge of my primary monitor on the right is considered x:0. Instead of starting from left edge of my secondary on the left. If I switch primary and secondary in NVIDIA display property, it works. But this presents another problem. LOMAC and my other games start up on my smaller 1600x1200 display. It seems that some people here successfully configured secondary on the left. Do I just have to switch my secondary and primary every time I play DCS or is there a setting that would resolve this? My graphic card is 9800GT with latest driver and monitors are setup as extend. Thanks for any suggestions. Also running Windows7 64bit

I agree with you some degrees zaelu but it's not entirely true. Yes DX10 is just an API but it also has certain requirements. Nvidia 8 series graphics card for one and Vista. So when people say DX10 is required for motion blur and depth of field, it's usually assumed that 8 series graphic card or equivalent is also required. An API is not gonna enable a feature on 7 series card that is not even available. As I've said before, the motion blur and depth of field you see on PS consoles are radial blur and crude z-depth blur. They're not true motion blur and depth of field. Which by the way works pretty well for uni-directional games like racing games.
-
None of the games released so far has true motion blur. What they all had were radial blur simulating motion blur. Difference is that radial blur is applied as a post effect. It will blur everything. True motion blur will only blur things that are close and moving fast relative to the view. Far away objects shouldn't be blurred. Back in the days, Voodoo2 cards with SLI was capable of true motion blur and depth of field but none of the games took advantage of it. Most people thought performance hit of motion blur was not worth it not realizing that motion blurred games require only half the frame rate. 30fps in games are not smooth enough and at least 60~90fps is required for smooth gameplay. But nobody complains about 30fps in movies and TV. That's because TV's and movies are motion blurred and computer games are not. I'll take 30fps motion blurred game over normal game running 90fps.

On Vista 64bit, I've had few issues but it was graphic driver and game setting issues. One thing weird is that I used to had to disable Vsync to get maximum frame rates. But now its the other way around, enabling vsync gives me almost double the frame rates. Of course this took me awhile to figure out and until then, I was bitching like hell about Vista. Other than these little configuration and settings issues, I have zero compatibility issues with Vista 64bit and lockon or any other games. Performance wise... on E6600 and 8800GTX, there's no game I can't run in max graphic setting in Vista 64. And for future DX10 games, Vista of course is better choice.
-
At current state, Vista... especially 64bit has some issues but if you're getting a brand new machine, I'd still recommend Vista 64. 64bit is here to stay and it's not going away. You don't see benefits with 64bit OS and DX10 because not enough games and softwares are written for it... yet. But it's coming starting with Crysis in couple weeks. 32bit OS has inherent limitation of 1.4GB of RAM per process. Whether you have 2GB or 200GB of RAM, a single process can only use 1.4GB in 32bit environment. 64bit virtually removes that ceiling. And by the way, because Microsoft doesn't offer upgrade path from 32bit Vista to 64bit, if you purchase 32bit Vista, you'll gonna have to buy a whole new copy of Vista 64 when you do want to go 64bit.

There's tracking window you can launch from trackIR software. Try the head movement you're doing in game and see if trackIR sees all 3 markers at all times. If not, you need to reposition the markers and/or trackIR so all 3 markers are seen at all times.

I have Pro and it's not worth the upgrade if you already have X52.

I clicked the save icon at every stage after completing the mission. Redid the first mission 5 times, trying every possible way to save. Classify, declassify, save as different name... none works. And this only happens with the default mig29 campaign. I guess vistrel's solution is only one...
-
The default mig29 campaign, when I complete the first mission and save, it doesn't stick. When I reload the campaign, I'm still on the first mission even tho I completed it and saved. I tried saving the campaign in different mission but still same.

Well... for armaments, all current US fighters use same AMRAAM and sidewinders so I guess they're all same??? For air to ground, F-35 can carry more and much wider variety of A2G munitions internally. For combat abilities... have you even looked them up? Absolutely nothing about these two are same performance wise. Instead of us making long list of differences, it'd be much easier for you to tell us what is same. Max speed? turn rate? climb rate? What's same? If you say these two are same, then I'm sure you also think F4 and F15 are same as well.

I thought you said you don't care what we say.

You guys are not reading the fine prints. $120 million is for incremental purchase. According to wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-22_Raptor "By the time all 183 jets have been purchased, $34 billion will be spent on actually procuring the aircraft." That turns out to be $186 million each.
-
According to this FAQ, it can't http://www.jsf.mil/contact/con_faqs.htm And I'm pretty sure F-35 does have thrust vectoring. By the way, Air Force did say that F-35 will replace A-10. I don't agree with that but they did say it.
-
I say that's a big difference. F-22 is $200 million. F-35 is $35 million. F-22 is not for sale. F-35 is. F-22 can supercruise. F-35 can't. Other than the stealthy appearance and the fact that both can fly, there's nothing else similar.

Off topic but wonder why there hasn't been any Harrier sim. And why was he flying with gear down in that video by the way?

http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11552 Your old profile wont work and wont convert into new SST. You'll have to recreate the profile. Also, current version lack some functionality... most are minor but one major function missing is the cycle keystroke function. Saitek said it'll be in their next SST version.

Buttons not working outside lock on!!!
Ven replied to Aeroscout's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Disable any profile on your joystick and try assigning one of the joystick button as center for TIR. Try it in LOMAC and if that works, then you know for sure it's the keyboard causing the problem. You can check off "trap" in TIR hotkey settings and those keys will function in game. It's just that the view will center everytime you press them. -
New GFX corruption fix for NVIDIA users
Ven replied to suntrace1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No, I don't know where Guru3D got those but nVidia didn't even release 162.15 betas for Vista. I was checking it almost hourly since XP beta was released. It was only for XP and they removed it after numerous people reported BSOD. -
Checked couple weeks ago and they're $150 US each totaling $450 if you were to buy all 3 new. Or $300 just for the stick and throttle.
-
If we're just talking stock, I would never again buy a controller using cheap linear carbon potentiometers. I've messed with them too many times with racing wheels and over the years, replacement cost of those do add up. Perhaps you do wear them out faster on wheels than joysticks but still...

New GFX corruption fix for NVIDIA users

nVidia removed those drivers now. Says there are problems with them. -
X52 is a HOTAS too. And which "joystick" are you getting soon? X52 or Cougar? I chose X52 Pro over Cougar. Money was no issue but I chose it for comfort as I have pretty small hands. And X52 can be adjusted where as I almost have to stroke the damn Cougar to reach all the buttons. Back when I was racing online, I bought ECCI for $1000 thinking that it'll make me faster. But then I found out that the best drivers were using the old Thrustmaster T1 (not even T2) and regular joysticks. Better equipments might give you better immersion and durability but wont make you better pilot. Whatever you chose is always the best equipment.

Thermal paste doesn't make a big difference as long as you applied them properly. Quality of the paste might make +/- 1' difference maybe. Try adjusting ambient temperature and fan speed. Or back down on the OC. I've OC'ed like crazy in the past and I only do very conservative OC'ing. Even when the OC is stable and cool with liquid cooling, it still shortens the CPU lifespan.

Track IR 4 Pro how do set distance from cockpit
Ven replied to Kaptein_Damli's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You have 2 choices. One is to move your head closer to the monitor and then press "center trackIR" button. This way when you sit back, you'll get wider view. Second choice is the one I prefer. I disable the Z axis in TrackIR and use the mouse wheel on my HOTAS for zoom. Z axis in TrackIR is cool effect but I find my self leaning back and forward too often during a mission and gets tiring.
