Hi guys! I'm wondering, how does HoJ work? I know the theory behind it, what I want to know is what I actually have to do (if anything) to launch a missile using that guidance mode?

March 6th is a Wednesday and it's my birthday.... :music_whistling:

Fighter Combat was reprinted some years ago, I think in the very year I bought it, 2008. You can still find it on Amazon at affordable prices.

When the -A is out, will someone please make a VF-33 Starfighters skin pack? Thank you! :) http://www.seaforces.org/usnair/VF/Fighter-Squadron-33.htm

I officially declare this thread derailed... Have at it, boys! :D

I'll risk it! (and run away while you take a shower....) Come on, guys, is that session classified? Are we going to see videos? Jabbers? Anyone? (violently shaking in withdrawal, barely contained by the reading of the manual...) :D

Finally! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the answers, guys, I'll check again, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Thanks, JumpinK, the problem is, it happens online, too, I first noticed this on Hoggit's Georgia at war server...

Must be Hornet lovers.... :D

Hi there! Would you guys please try to use your TACAN in air to air mode? I can't pick up air stations anymore, I'm wondering if it's a bug...

I get your frustration, it's really annoying. Might I suggest that you do what I did? I inserted that item in my start up checklist: right after hook check, the manual makes you check the pitot heating (which shouldn't have any real effect right now). Well, I just turn on the pitot and the ice inlet heating and leave them active all the time. Problem solved. Now, if only there was a definitive solution to the Home fuel advisory....

Thanks Jabbers, the view really seemed to much centered on the pilot, especially in the top mirror. Do you fly in VR, too, by any chance? If so, how's the mirror view in there? Well, it looks like we're 50% in agreement! :D I'm curious, what machine do you have? With the Rift, I don't notice any impact on fps, but I do have a new machine (except for the video card, which is still my old 1070). P.S. Btw, Jabbers, thanks for the video, it was really awesome! The fever is constantly rising....

So, after watching Jabbers video... am I the only one who thinks that, no matter how cool they are, mirrors aren't there to watch yourself reflected, but to show you what's on your six? Don't you think HB should change that?

I was just wondering if it's some kind of Russian tradition, to smash the festive lights at Christmas? :D

Hi there! After last Wednesday, I decided to give a go to OB, so I switched to it, via the Skatezilla updater GUI specific function (advanced update options -> update to latest beta). Once installed, the game wouldn't start. I ran the repair function, still nothing. Then I remembered I had two mods (A-4E and MB-339), got rid of those and the game finally started. Unfortunately, in VR now I don't see the usual pointing arrow mouse cursor, but only a dot, like the one you have in Oculus Home if you're not using touch controllers; once in the cockpit, there's no way I can use the mouse to interact with the aircraft. Mods, you can delete this thread, if you want. If I start the game with VR off, everything works fine: the mouse pointer is the regular arrow and I can click everything, as usual. Any idea what went wrong and how to fix it? BTW, I tried everything only in the Hornet. Thanks in advace for any help you can give me, guys! EDIT: Ok, I got it. Despite in stable I could have VR controllers enabled and use the mouse at the same time, it seems that in OB they're mutually exclusive. As soon as I disabled the touch controllers via DCS options, I got back mouse control in the cockpit.

I have the very same issue with my TWCS, I can slew the cursor without problems in the radar, but when I load the IRMAVs, it's very choppy, and if I try to keep the TDC depressed and move the sensor, it won't go up and left, only right and down. If I keep pushing and releasing the button, making little movements of the cursor in the mean time (like "pulsing" the movement), I have some resemblance of control, but it makes very difficult to lock a target, anyway, as I mostly have to fly the jet in the direction of the target and then trying to adjust the aim. I'm not using Target, either, nor binding key, just using the control configuration menu in game.

Thanks guys! I'll definitely give MP a go, as soon as I feel more confident (and I learn a bit more about how the various servers work).

... the satisfaction for successfully completing the first mission where I used every single skill a Hornet pilot must know, from cold start to shut down, passing through cat launch, air refueling and trap! :) Too bad tracks always get corrupted....

I guess that's why I never felt the need to code! :D

If I might nitpick, Deano, yep, it's already been reported... on November 21st, it seems, which means in Open Beta. I don't have Open Beta, I only use stable and for this release it's a new bug, since it didn't happen before last Wednesday update (and, btw, not really cool to break something that wasn't broken, ED! :music_whistling:)

Hey there, guys! Since I update the stable, last Wednesday, I'm having this issue, too. One more thing, there's a green glow near the throttle and, specularly, on the right side of the cockpit, near the fuse box. It looks like it's the APU light glow, but it's on even when that light is not, and it's visible every time I turn on console lights.

Thanks again for your answers, guys! And thanks, Master QuiGon, for showing this (not so) young Padawan the way to switch from stable to OB without too much hassle (and, I hope, not too many GBs to download...)!
