Unofficial List of Upcoming DCS Aircraft
Madone replied to Bluedrake42's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
+1 I'm dreaming of that AH-64 every night ^^ -
That's a dream that everybody have, I mean playing the infantry from arma 2 combined with the aircrafts and ground vehicles from DCS, I'm pretty we will see a sim like that in the future. Compatibility and financial questions to resolve to make it happen...

Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Madone replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I know that Freetrack 2.1 works with BS1 but with DCS World I'm not sure.... Btw I edited the line 27 as follow : NewInput.setHeadTrackerDllPath('./bin/headtracker/headtracker.dll') The path don't have to be full and led to C:/ blah blah. Start your path from bin. Give it a try! It doesn't work if the path isn't set correctly. Don't ever give up!! XD -

Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Madone replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yes because unfortunately, the headtracker has been created to work with Freetrack 2.2... A french guy has got the same problem, he just bought a Logitech C920 with FaceTrackNOIR and it works. Here is the french post : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=1589685#post1589685 Also there's a known post about that and you will maybe find your solution there : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=87436&highlight=Freetrack+bs2 But I really think that you have to run the 2.2 version, definitely :/ -

10 points KLR Rico! Do you run it as admin, I run it as admin as well... A lot of issues can occur if you don't. -
Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Madone replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok glad to hear it helps you, by the way I bought my LEDs by a german e-shop (click here), so I'm a bit surprised that you didn't buy your stuff there. :) Don't be distaught, if the same FT device works for someone else, there's no reason to fail with you. -
Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Madone replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Bexx0r, Well that's weird, I know 2 guys using a PS3 Eye with FT 2.2 and it works fine for them. Maybe it's your built-in camera which is causing problems, can you try Freetrack and your PS3 eye with an other PC? Maybe the next FT release will fix it (if there's one). Btw if you have the SFH485 and want to increase the tracking, I recommend you to sand the top of the led down. I've the P version, the top is flat, so try to sand it as flat as possible. If the light is too weak, change the resistor? I really can't help you more with the software issue, it was a pain in the a$$ for me just to set it up. But again, try your PS3 EYE and FT with an other PC, you will know if it's due to your laptop camera. Cya -

HeadTracker.zip

Bonjour, Perso j'ai seulement DCS World A-10C mais ça marche correctement. Cordialement :D

I got this issue several times on Georgian Hammer (no CA), the last time, I dropped one CBU87 but I got no crash, only FPS going down, then my wingman launch a maverick and I got a CTD after the explosion. There's definitely a problem with the explosions effects, I hope ED is already working on it. Btw I use a Freetrack device so it could be the cause since FT isn't really stable :/
-
Mosley, are you a part of these guys which are always ready to break the fun at the first trouble and rarely to cheer? A software cannot be perfect, there's still some bugs. Yes there's a CTD's with DCS, but that's not a reason to eclipse all the sim. I have more fun than CTD. If you're not happy play something else.
-
Thx for the info Rich, I was thinking that there was only an executable. I hope it will be fixed in the future anyway.
-
It is important Heater, just wait. They're working hard, and I prefer something slow and reliable than quick and busted. Thx ED for working on it.

You guys aren't patient at all! :)

Some nice stuff here. I think I got the worst case, it's an old one that I've modded to add fans and bigger components^^. Why should I buy a new case? It works that way! :D It's a bit different since I've a new HDD and hidden the Zalman switch. The old config is hilarious now.

IMHO, yes, but maybe I'm wrong, I know that the CPU/RAM work together to load and calculate the amount of objects and the GPU provide the textures, shadows... But be careful, don't think that you need a core i7 2600k ultra overclocked with a 512 mb direct X9 graphic card. The best thing is too have a homogeneous PC with a good CPU and GPU working well together. To your second question, 18-20FPS stable isn't enough to play correctly, personally, I prefer a 45-50FPS with MID/HIGH settings than 20 FPS max settings because DCS doesn't need to be at Max settings to kick your ***. There's no specified hardware, just check what the others players have and judge by yourself with what you need. Personally I'm proud with my core i3 2100/HD6850 tandem. The fps never drop under 20 FPS at almost max settings. PS: we are going off topic, it would have been better in the hardware section :/

Just bringing an other voice over here. That's really annoying, DCS get an amount of CTD, that's a pity. I got the "login crash" earlier, now it's resolved, I don't really know how, I tried a bit everything lol. But the connections interrupted are still there on some servers (which are not listed). IMHO, the team should test the game with more accuracy, so please focus guys and bring us some great updates!

Oo dude! My pc cost something like 850$ XD I feel depressed now ^^ Relax man, sure you will have the best of the sim with these specs, but for DCS I think the CPU is really more important than the graphic card because e.g there's tons of objects to show while flying low with high visibility and the CPU works for that. But you're good for many years with this PC. Damn 2400 I still can't believe that! lol At this time, DCS use only 2 cores right? (that's for my information)
