Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Madone replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Yes I think it's because the "Are Flankers Gone?" was merged to become this one... -
Don't worry, I'm not the type that gives up in front of the wall... :D

Ok, I got the same stutters that you're describing, in a ramp start, the PC loads the textures when I look around then it's gone, and I think, you could have it even with a very high end PC, I would be surprised if you were getting bad FPS with that CPU/GPU, my core i3 is in the same scale, but I can't oc it, at 4Ghz you beat me easily, plus you have a nice graphic card, I dunno what's your PC screen but you should have something smooth and nice. Personally I'm med/high settings, I hit 45 FPS average, that's enough for me, but I'm running a 19" screen though. About the quantity of RAM, I think buying 16GB is an overkill to play, if you're encoding vids, using a ramdisk or softwares like 3DSMax, it can be useful. The frequency is more important... 8GB is enough. The sound card should be really helpful, I'm looking to buy one. Tell us the result!!

Totally right, I'd also say, that's a question of money, you can't crash a 60 millions dollars plane just because you think you're gonna crash, "oh damn the flight instruments are out?!! eject eject right now!!" (would be my case lol) because at the flight school, at least, in France, the instructor says : "There are peoples which everyday in a goddamn factory, office or whatever to earn money and then pay government taxes, that's allow you to learn how to fly a plane and be paid once you have done your graduation. You can't mess with that.":worthy: -

Operation Bactria (MP COOP 14), Afghanistan CAS
Madone replied to Habu23's topic in User Created Missions General
Looks like a really nice mission, I'm gonna try it out, I've been making some Afghanistan missions too but I was keeping it simple, with only infantry, JDAM on ammo caches and some JTACs. Since DCS World I've to make it again. :/ -
Oh yeah that's for sure!!!

:rotflmao: To answer the thread, I think it's all about flight hours and maybe some points.

OK. I'm back on it for a lil' (hangovers are gone right now:puke::D). I'm actually asking on a french forum to know more about the C++ cause I'm missing some params about the audio buffer and video frame, also I don't really get the point of adding resolution and FPS parameters in the Header since we have to choose it in the ME. Well C0ff if you read that, be ready to receive an e-mail soon, I need your help to get my happy end  (you know what I mean:yes:) However I let you in your holiday until my next recovery (around 3rd Jan 2013):holiday:

:shocking:Wow wow wow, before looking to buy anything, did you try to play DCS World once? You said "I'm going to...", you have some good specifications here, you can run the game pretty well with that 955 X4, plus you're OCed. FC3 and A10C aren't different in performance, that's all DCS World now. You will sure have to make some choices in the options but high/med settings shouldn't be problematic. If you don't have the game, try the free SU25 and see what's your perfomance results, for me it would be an error to update your PC before playing the game, it's even more true if it was some hard earned $$$ :weight_lift_2:

DCS World Benchmark Tracks??
Madone replied to walker450's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
+1 It would be helpful to have a benchmarking track or even a benchmark function, it could be a reference for every players, but peoples will say that's not important, we have more important problems to deal with blabla.. Personally I do it by myself, save a track of a mission, edit it adding some different views and it does the job -
Holly molly, this guy know how to get some attention ^^. Welcome to DCS, you have some amazing pictures, all my respect... The virtual squadron is for sure the best solution!
-
No difference for me. there's everything you should know above so I don't know how I could help you more. As USMC Trev said, drop 2 candies ;)

I concurr with the first post, I played some of my own mission with infantry and sometimes I need to come very close and make 3 or 4 passes to kill 1 or 2 survivors even if I really lead my rain on him! Same problem when playing the instant actions, me and my wingman need to waste 4 passes to kill a poor guy! It's like there was no blast implemented, I always use the HEI ammo only since I like to create "Afghanistan conflict" missions with only infantry and light vehicles. The HEI are supposed to have a blast effect about 10 meters, I don't like to see the target still standing fine after 3 passes on him, he should be crawling in pieces at least!!

Maybe there are few errors, but there's a spirit in your vid that I really like, a scenario, you did a great job to "link" your pictures to give that ambiance, you and Glowing Amraam are having the best vids around the web! I hope we will see more of your work soon!!:thumbup::thumbup:

:noexpression: Hmm yeah for me, it's all the way too expensive.
-
Personally, I'm for a realistic scenario, a conflict in Europe :no_sad: not for now, I would prefer an Afghanistan or Iran theather for sure. I know that a French bud was working on 3DSMax, creating an Afghanistan map on Checksix, last time, he was asking for some help to create some objects...

The biggest hoax ever... XD

Thanks for testing it, I'll take the use of sensors in consideration now, I didn't know about that. The line of sight is still confusing sometimes, I've been able to make them spot enemies on a hill without a clear visual (they were down the moutain) and it worked fine, sometimes it doesn't. Weird! :D
