  1. Looks like a really nice mission, I'm gonna try it out, I've been making some Afghanistan missions too but I was keeping it simple, with only infantry, JDAM on ammo caches and some JTACs. Since DCS World I've to make it again. :/
  2. Oh yeah that's for sure!!!
  3. :rotflmao: To answer the thread, I think it's all about flight hours and maybe some points.
  4. OK. I'm back on it for a lil' (hangovers are gone right now:puke::D). I'm actually asking on a french forum to know more about the C++ cause I'm missing some params about the audio buffer and video frame, also I don't really get the point of adding resolution and FPS parameters in the Header since we have to choose it in the ME. Well C0ff if you read that, be ready to receive an e-mail soon, I need your help to get my happy end  (you know what I mean:yes:) However I let you in your holiday until my next recovery (around 3rd Jan 2013):holiday:
  5. XD
  6. :shocking:Wow wow wow, before looking to buy anything, did you try to play DCS World once? You said "I'm going to...", you have some good specifications here, you can run the game pretty well with that 955 X4, plus you're OCed. FC3 and A10C aren't different in performance, that's all DCS World now. You will sure have to make some choices in the options but high/med settings shouldn't be problematic. If you don't have the game, try the free SU25 and see what's your perfomance results, for me it would be an error to update your PC before playing the game, it's even more true if it was some hard earned $$$ :weight_lift_2:
  7. +1 It would be helpful to have a benchmarking track or even a benchmark function, it could be a reference for every players, but peoples will say that's not important, we have more important problems to deal with blabla.. Personally I do it by myself, save a track of a mission, edit it adding some different views and it does the job
  8. Holly molly, this guy know how to get some attention ^^. Welcome to DCS, you have some amazing pictures, all my respect... The virtual squadron is for sure the best solution!
  9. No difference for me. there's everything you should know above so I don't know how I could help you more. As USMC Trev said, drop 2 candies ;)
  10. I concurr with the first post, I played some of my own mission with infantry and sometimes I need to come very close and make 3 or 4 passes to kill 1 or 2 survivors even if I really lead my rain on him! Same problem when playing the instant actions, me and my wingman need to waste 4 passes to kill a poor guy! It's like there was no blast implemented, I always use the HEI ammo only since I like to create "Afghanistan conflict" missions with only infantry and light vehicles. The HEI are supposed to have a blast effect about 10 meters, I don't like to see the target still standing fine after 3 passes on him, he should be crawling in pieces at least!!
  11. :yay:Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays everybody!!:santa: Good luck for that hangover :drink: :drunk:
  12. :xmas: Joyeux Noël à toute la communauté française!!:santa: :holiday::drunk: PS : Très bon choix pour la photo :shifty: haha
  13. Maybe there are few errors, but there's a spirit in your vid that I really like, a scenario, you did a great job to "link" your pictures to give that ambiance, you and Glowing Amraam are having the best vids around the web! I hope we will see more of your work soon!!:thumbup::thumbup:
  14. Wahoo!! Oo Honestly that's my favorite video of DCS!! Beautiful! Simply beautiful!!
  15. :noexpression: Hmm yeah for me, it's all the way too expensive.
  16. Personally, I'm for a realistic scenario, a conflict in Europe :no_sad: not for now, I would prefer an Afghanistan or Iran theather for sure. I know that a French bud was working on 3DSMax, creating an Afghanistan map on Checksix, last time, he was asking for some help to create some objects...
  17. The biggest hoax ever... XD
  18. Thanks for testing it, I'll take the use of sensors in consideration now, I didn't know about that. The line of sight is still confusing sometimes, I've been able to make them spot enemies on a hill without a clear visual (they were down the moutain) and it worked fine, sometimes it doesn't. Weird! :D
  19. Well, it's not really patched now, and IL2 Sturmovik doesn't like the new hardware, I should say drivers! I got flickering water with Catalyst, so all the rivers, seas, lakes are flashing, and it's unplayable, also it's getting graphically a bit old and personally, when you put your finger on a modern jet fighter, there's no way to come back in these slow birds^^ (kidding)
  20. Be sure of that!! Don't hesitate, there will be no regrets, it don't really think DCS is difficult as some peoples can tell, the only limits that exist are yours! Seriously, there's training exercices which helped me a lot, a well written manual (long to read ofc), training videos on YouTube, there's everything to learn fast and well. Personally, I first learned to fly on IL2 Sturmovik, I was such a ****, and DCS just took me to the "play real concept" and gave me the motivation to learn how to bust those russian tanks! About the bugs, I'd say, yes there are some, but there's more fun than bugs to me, don't forget that the game is passing into a sort of "transition" and it's gonna be better soon, it's forced! Happy Xmas!!
  21. Hi, I remember on the 1.1.1.1 version, I've been able to destroy an ammunition depot with 2 GBU-10s, lasing the both ends of it. I was lasing in AREA mode but it shouldn't matter. Maybe the 1.2.2 version changed it, I don't think so however.
  22. What is the device you fly with? That's weird, I can assign everything I want, it can be my gamepad, joystick, secondary mouse buttons... But I prefer to have DCS controls on my HOTAS (anyway I don't have enough buttons), Freetrack is on my keyboard and mouse, that's not difficult to left the throttle for 1 second so...
  23. XD that's very harsh but it's all the truth
  24. Yes, that's what will happen in real life mate, deal with that, the TGP lock into the ground/thermal sigs, not coordinates, if you make a high G turn, the TGP can't hold the position, it doesn't have enough power to move that fast, and it's more true if you mask it with the plane, you can also get a "gimb roll" if you hit the limits of the head FOV and have to roll back. If you set your SPI in a valley and then fly behind the hill, the TGP will recalculate the path to the nearest available target, hence the edge of the hill, it doesn't see through the mountains!! The best solution is to set your SPI on the map, if the TGP lost the visual, you can press China Hat Forward to lead the TGP sensor on the SPI. Well I can be wrong about the lock system, I'm a bit clueless about that. But I can tell you, it's not a bug. Maybe someone else will correct that. Hope it helps
