  3. I do and I agree with him. Will choppers that spawn/take off from airbases also use up fuel? Also I like the idea of MiG21 using up less fuel than bigger planes, introduces more incentive to use them.
  4. Hey guys I am having a weird issue. :D Red side FW-190 slots explode and despawn me but BF-109 and TF-51 slots on the same airfield are fine. Anyone experience something similar? Could there have been an issue when I picked the side?
  5. First thing that comes to my mind are your radio settings. There is an option (under gameplay I think) called 'simple radio' if it is turned on, you shouldn't have a problem. If it is on you need to use your actual radios to communicate with assets/ground. If you only want to talk to the ground crew the simplest way is to just open the canopy. :) There are already tutorials for the radio's so I won't bother. If radios are not the issue please make sure the airport you landed on is actually on your coalition before you land. A neutral or opposing airfield will not rearm, refuel or repair you. edit: Disregard everything, I just checked the mission in the newest version, the nearest airfields are set to neutral. It's not you, it's the mission. :) edit2: Okay I edited the missions in the editor and just set the airfields around the target area to blue and it works. You can either edit it yourself or use my version. The instant missions are located in your DCS World folder: "\DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\A-10C\Missions\EN\QuickStart" back them up and just copy mine over them. http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?file_id=44119455917540011446 The file is around 22mb since it has the voice overs.
  6. Sorry if I missed it but searching this thread didn't give a result, was there ever a a official word about multi-crew? Anyway great stuff as always, blueflag teached me how to really love the Mi-8, it wormed itself into my heart and has become probably my favorit DCS module. :)

  10. The stand-alone client can use ALL keys no matter where they are bought from. Steam client can only use keys bought from the steam store.

  12. Hey big Mi-8 fan here, so I am biased! xD - The Mi-8 has the AP assit channels, like the shark it makes flying a bit 'less hands on'. Once you understand these channels and don't fight them anymore, I find flying it way less exhausting then the huey. (I have a TM Warthog^^) - IT HAS WORKING FAN ANIMATION!!! - Very forgiving with battle damage, most of the times my pilots die before my chopper. - Can do all the roles huey does, only thing you might miss is that the Mi-8 has no AI door gunners and you can't 'AI-cheat' to find units. - Haven't tried slingloads in huey but on the mighty 8 it's terrific fun. - A lot of system depth, not sure if you have that much small neat stuff in the huey. Coloured flares, siren to embark for your cyber troops(ED we need a ME trigger here!), anti ice systems, drift from the navigation thingy etc. I probably forget something important. Screw the huey, get the Mi8! :)
  13. I had issues in 2.0 with the new weapon select function, I used a clean default.lua and just added the alternative bindings on top. I didn't test it completely, but so far it worked. MiG-21BIS Custom Controls.rar

    TDC Slew

    Hey how did you fix the red keybinding conflict for the TDC slew commands? I tried reassigning it but can't get it to work. Normally if this happens I just clear the default bindings, set something entirely else and reassign. This time it's not working. (not trying the axis) edit: Fixed, I think there might have been a problem with a 3 way switch (parking break), once I unbound it & restarted DCS, the binding conflict (with TDC right) was gone.
  15. Then please let my displeasure with the design be known. ^^ As it is now, it feels like a full time job. I said it before, but doing fuel runs for hours doesn't feel like we accomplished anything. They are empty one restart later anyway. Also, to be honest a refueling run in a helicopter is simply not enjoyable at all. 40-55nm simple straight flying, no real danger since it's mostly way behind the frontline... Also curious how the other trans pilots feel about that. There were a lot of rounds (3hrs cycle) that we did nothing but refuel in a bloody group and still it's never even close enough. The longer the campaign goes on, the quieter it gets when you ask in TS who will be doing the refueling run... edit to clarify: I think the system is a very neat idea, just in the current form it is very frustrating. I also recognize that some refueling (even if deemed boring by some nay sayers^^) should be necessary but I am having a hard time 'adjusting to the current numbers' :) edit2: The idea mentioned in this thread about refineries/oil platforms was interesting, and it may be a lesser bitter pill to swallow if the enemy messed up your fuel situation.

  17. Without trying to be hostile, you are actually a Trans pilot, who is actively doing the support stuff? I have talked with a bunch of reds, read the same issue in this very thread. My own side and myself is very unhappy with the current system. Reading that you don't see an issue with the current system leaves me quite baffled.^^ Easy hotfix would be to simply raise the amount of fuel carried per crate. For retarded players, sorry I asked in chat specifically not to spawn on Nalchik because of the fuel issue. While making this post the remaining 250fuel from Nalchik disappeared without anyone in a NA slot to show for it. If you don't want any hard feelings towards described lonewolfs/randoms above, maybe disarm the system putting organized players against casuals. :)

There have been multiple posts this round about the FUEL system, can we have any feedback by admin team about our feedback please? :D Again, this is really frustrating, I did 3 fuel runs on Nalchik today and its down to 250 again, next time I will have to spawn at BE-TL FARP... PLEASE hotfix this, this is not a job I get paid RL money for. I should not have to WORK this campaign. :) This mechanic as it is now, is pure frustration, I have done countless of refueling flights and it doesn't feel like I have accomplished anything at all. There is no accountability, I can't see who used how much fuel, when and for what. Blue&Red frustrated trans please back me up on this. For blueside, sorry guys, but unless an airfield is on the way to the front I won't move a single crate until there is some kind of change to this. /ragerant edit: Anyway, not done, I gotta question the whole idea of the system. Unlike the Pilot-live system which gives the player penalty for retarded behaviour (getting killed), in the current Fuel-sytem the whole TEAM is getting a huge penalty for having retarded players/randoms who die/waste a lot of fuel. I can shoot the enemy team attacking my airfield and defend it.I can't defend against random, not communicating, unaware (lives&fuel) teammates who waste my fuel. :P Also I gotta ask, do the 'endless chopper'-spawns drain the fuel amount of airfields aswell? I am stumped how all this ****ing fuel is getting lost. Okay really done ranting now. :P Thx for your time Apo

  21. Some Feedback: - After live reset the PAK is not appearing via F10 menu for some time. - FARP spawn still a huge issue, spawn kills still etc. I have no solution to this with Heli cold start. (and FARP spawn needs to be cold see below) - Heli HOT spawn, since Trans doesn't cost lives a hot spawn on a airbase/airfield even with the Bunker-closing mechanic is IMHO a bad idea. Airframe spam should be prevented. On FARPs this is already implemented but not on airfields. -^rule clarification about respawn on FARPs/airbases that are being attacked. A 373 member dropped into blue TS3 channel and asked us not to respawn anymore on a FARP that he attacked, appealing to us that this is not how the system is intended. While I agree strongly in core with this, I believe in a competitive setting, this stuff must be reflected by the rules/systems - since we as blue attackers have to deal with the same. Would like a word from admins on this. <3 -Fuel logistics, first as said before, the amount of fuel transported via crate is WAY too low, frustrating for both sides afaik. My suggestion would be atleast 1,5k fuel PLUS I very much like the idea of static 'refinery/supply' areas that need to be captured & held. This could be done for SAMs too. - Stingers/Manpads, I use that stuff a lot, but to be honest, they are a bit OP in this scenario. Especially in night missions I feel this asset gives a little too much power to transport. (This hurts to admit as a Mi-8 pilot^^) - Weather, I still find the weather & crosswinds to be overboard at times. I can certainly live with 'some' wind in all of the missions, just tone it down a bit in the extremes. :) - NO live restriction for Heli Trans, as a Mi-8 pilot myself, I am deeply conflicted about this. On one hand I really like being able to fly the whole time without real restrictions. On the other I feel it cheapens not only my experience but that of others aswell. Somebody might kill me 5 times, going out of ammo and getting frustrated. With aggressive respawn & fast take off I might really do some serious damage on an attacking or defending force (CTLD) etc. So yes, conflicted^^ - Newbies & TS3, if you are not in teamspeak, you are doing it wrong. If you can talk or not you NEED to listen in, even if it is VERY confusing at first, you will learn a lot. Awesome round overall, having big fun!

  24. Amount of fuel carried by choppers (logistics) is way too low. For example refueling the Vaziani/TL/SO airbases is nearly impossible because the next FARPs are 50-59nm away. My Mi8 atleast can carry way more^^ Does RED have same problems? I am okay doing some refueling as a chopper pilot, but not a full time job for multiple pilots...
  25. Terrible Mi8 pilot here, my 'trick' is it to request the crate always next to some structure that will help me know where the crate is. Taxiway markings, buildings or even some ground textures. Personally I keep hoping for slingloads and the glorious cargo cam. :D
