Big kudos to yourself, renhanxue and the other Swedes for all that you have brought to the community through this thread, the declassified manuals etc. I don't think any other upcoming module has anywhere near as much information on the forum as the Viggen. This makes me reallly want to fly it :)

Aardvark would be awesome! Side-by-side seating also makes it easier to fill both positions by yourself :)

Leatherneck Simulations Mini-Update - SEPTEMBER 2015
chev255 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Holy molly, I read the whole update and was convinced it was a new thread from 2 weeks ago that I had missed somehow... Hope to be bombarded in Sept and Oct 2016 then! -
Fully agree, give us the Thud instead!

MH-53 Pave Low would be awesome (terrain following radar, air to air refueling, etc.)

Shadow, that's doppler shift that you hear during fly-bys (higher pitch when coming towards you, lower pitch when going away from you): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doppler_effect

HMS Intifada? :megalol:

Thanks Mbot - "must spread rep"...

Thanks! I'll give them a try

I'm reading "When Thunder Rolled" at the moment so would love to see an F-105! The f-4 is more famous but has the challenge of having 2 crew members...

Great news! I was concerned we would be stuck with the current AIM-9P (P3?)

Thanks Pat for the changelog, always said I would wait for the gun/rocket version to buy the module, so on my way to the e-shop right now!

The comparison with the car is biased, you can't compare distributing software and distributing hardware! Personnally I know I soon won't bother with JSGME and will revert to whatever textures ED distribute, just because when I play DCS I have only little time and I need something that works straight out of the box. So I think that if Starway feels he has been sufficiently compensated it would be nice if he can work with ED to integrate the textures in the base map. He can sign the proper legal agreements with ED to ensure he keeps the intellectual property.

Operational Hangers and Hanger Doors?
chev255 replied to WolfpackOfficial's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Gents - sorry for being picky, a hanger is something to hang stuff (like a clothes hanger), a hangar (with an A) is a building where you store stuff/planes/etc. -

Looks awesome, can't wait!

I agree, RAZBAM have set a new bar with respect to communication and how quickly features/fixes are implemented! Keep it up and please do the F-15E ASAP :joystick: ;)

Fair enough but the same questions remain: 1- do we think we will be able to model door to door fighting in DCS in the foreseeable future? (The current Las Vegas rendition is clearly not detailed enough for that (no interior of buildings, etc.) and the game engine would IMHO require major changes) 2- does it really matter to have true to life buildings/casinos/streets/etc.?
-
I never said cities were immune... but you are talking COIN here, I specifically said military battles, do we really need F-15C, F/A-18C, M2000, etc. to drop a couple JDAMs on insurgents in a city? Also, is the DCS engine, damage model, infantry model, civilians, etc. really adapted to COIN at the moment? Personnaly I am much more interested in full-on war scenarii between military forces both with air, land and naval assets. Most of the time these are not within cities. For sure we need cities, but I could not care less if the casinos and sky scrapers are the right ones at the right place.

Maybe because the terrain mesh on the Caucasus map is far too coarse (especially in the mountains)... Of course it's nice to have a well modeled city, but to me most tactical military battles happen in the countryside/desert, not in the city

Personnally, my main concern with Nevada and Hormuz maps is that I think too much time is devoted to creating a realistic rendition of the large cities and, although it is really nice to have, I would happily trade this against larger maps. The recent screenshots of Hormuz - showing details of Dubai - are don't seem reassuring on that subject... :(

Thanks Razbam for your transparency!

I can assure you that the day I started doing coordinated turns on the A-10 (using rudder into the turn), I discovered a whole new level of performance as the plane bleeds much less airspeed while turning  Rudder pedals are definitely a must for non-FBW planes and for all choppers :joystick:
