This threads title is misleading.
Fact: There was a big problem with statistics. We fixed it.
Someone had presumed that the cause was "player id duplicated between different online players". But it was not the case at all. player id cannot be duplicated because it is the connection id. The problem was inside the statistics module which is being refactored.
That's why the changelog does not mention 'playerid'. It does reference this thread, though.
Please, clarify your question.
Usermods can still reference stock sounds, but they better use wave names w/o extensions.
