If anyone does this, the leds have to be seen from wide angles. Maybe standard leds filed flat will work. I am using a cap with the standard clip but I have ideal conditions for gaming so it works quite well. Most problems come from trying to look down right or left in the cockpit. I quess the pro clip would fix this problem? I think it would be better using some different methods for tracking than lights and a camera but there doesnt seem to be any alternatives on the market.

Check your options that the resolution is not over your monitors max resolution, otherwise the game will crash. For some reason after this update some settings were changed.
-
You could try a widening lense for iPhone. But a better camera doesnt hurt. Some cheap end dslr with video recording is good as you can change lenses, but not necessary.
-
Your first videos showed better how it looks when you are actually there. Could you film a new video from the seat with wide angle lens?
-
Then you have to make your own drivers.

Then I must have read some other guys message on some other thread. How do you like your virtual cockpit so far? I have been toying with an idea that if there was enough resolution in a projector it would be possible to make whole cockpit on flat surfaces using projection picture. Combined with camera you'd have functioning cockpit. If the projection was spherical the same projector could also "paint" the game picture around you... Currently it just is cheaper to buy multible touch screen monitors and place them as cockpit surfaces.

I dont see anything wrong bying the board that is on the first post. Quite affordable price, and easy to use. But I would have bought the eco model and used soldering: http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=76_81&products_id=234

Take your *"time" and run as fast and far away as you can while you still have an opportunity, remember to also shutdown your internet... :pilotfly: *[The amount of time and money invested into a hobby.] :joystick: But seriously.

I wonder why this thread is without much notice. Found this trough your post on that other thread. Very cool concept, would need to test it myself to know if I would like it not because I have never used the Track-ir with a pause button. I like it to be moving free all the time and use keyboard keys to press those buttons that are needed in combat. Place youtube tags around the video so others might watch it too.

If someone would sort the HUD issue it would be interesting to try 3D with stereoscopic helmed mounted display on DCS World. Unfortunately all current HMD's are so low resolution.

T.Hotas Warthog VS X52 pro what to buy
RpSPT replied to cyprus's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Having x52 I would advice anyone to stretch for Warthog unless you are keen to having your stick repaired when it brokes and x52 does break quite easily. Depending on your warranty you can get your x52 replaced but if the shop doesnt have any on stock you may have to wait long time while they order one. If you dont have warranty then you have to and can modify your x52 to take more "abuse" aka normal gaming. If you are wondering what gets broken on x52; Most times it is just the cable connection between stick and throttle coming loose. This is not a small problem as if you loose the connection mid flight for fraction of an second, the stick calibration centter will be the position you held your stick when the connection comes back. Good luck flying online... Second problem you might encounter with x52; A cable inside the stick becomes loose: You might loose one of your axels mid flight. Hope your warranty is still on while this happens. Luckily I still had my warranty on. -
Best Projectors for 3x Surround
RpSPT replied to desqjockey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think it is trow distance/ screen widht ratio. BHawtorne can correct me if I am wrong. So depending how big your room is you have to calculate how big picture can you get with the projectors you choose. -
AI is much slower in DCS World 1.2.2 than some previous version which number I dont remember. Dont know if it is intented to be this slow but it is quite annoying to deal with jtac on current version. Sometimes it takes almost a minute to get an answer from ground forces, or you have to ask for target multible times.
-
CH joysticks dont have rudder control as you cannot yaw the stick. CH joysticks have pitch and bank, but you need rudder pedals or something else for yaw.
-
Tracks can go differently on other computers. The track is simulated gameplay with recorded input from user. I did not watch that track yet, might watch it later. But if AtaliaA1 had wingman shooting the targets you might have some problem with AI on your computer.

I unfortunately dont have an answer to your problem. Your cockpit looks very good. Some holiday I will have to make an trip around europe and visit all the good cockpit builders that are posting their builds here on internet. Would be an interesting holiday if it would be ok to visit everyone. It would need some planning to make schedule that works. Could you also post your videos to your youtube page. Would be easier to watch them that way. The SAI looks good, hope you will get it working with the game soon.

It works in what ever program you wish to use it. The files are basicly a Saitek Profile that uses both AutoHotkey and Saitek STT. (Be Warned the capslk scrlk thing also currently works in Windows Desktop) It works in a way that it maps joystick buttons to use keyboard keys and scripts like LCtrl + B. When the A-10 exe included is running and CapsLock and ScrLk are on it also maps abcd...xyz keys as LCtrl + LWin + The key you press. So if you want to use this profile in some other game you just have to map the buttons the same way as in DCS World. Basicly you dont have to worry about what keyboard key is mapped into what button you can just press the joystick button in that games option to map the buttons. [Edit 2014: You can also use the included No_Saitek script and map your controls in game for whatever joystick you are using.] By the way I made for my self a batch file that starts all the programs from one shortcut: DCS World, AutoHotkey file and TrackIR. You could also include Helios if you are running multible monitors or what ever program you need. I higly recommend making a batch file. Edit: One more thing, if you also fly the Ka-50 you probably should shutdown the AutoHotkey file and change the Saitek profile as currently I dont have the Ka-50 input files included. Ofcourse you can map the buttons and keys for Ka-50 using the same profile.

Count me in. All versions of Arma are way too casual as what comes to vehicle controls for my tastes. If DCS "Next Gen" had infantry and all vehicles included it would be awesome. While waiting for that I will continue flying A-10, Ka-50...

During one years period my first Saitek x52 Pro got broken while playing. I dont know for sure what caused it but suddenly when turning the stick around in sircles the Y-axel got lost immediately. I got new as an free replacement but now it is starting to loose calibration mid flight. It gets fixed by fidling with the cables but try doing that mid flight without pausing. This will definately be the last Saitek Stick I will ever buy unless they really make something more sturdy. I guess you get what you paid for.

Very nice panels.

Looks very good. Do you have modular desing to make it easier to move this pit if necessary?

Now that I have actually played with this profile I noticed that I was missing some buttons that are quite handy on landings. After making the Profile Demonstration video I have added: Update 1: Added Wheelbrake to Pinky button. Added Airbrake to Precision Slider (note that it presses + and -) Added Flaps Up and Down to left toggle on joystick base. Update 1.1: Added Gear Up and Down to middle toggle on joystick base. Edit: Updated profile picture to first post. Edit: Update 1.2: Added A&G button to stick right toggle down. Added wheel turn toggle to throttle (i) button. Changed TS Com into more usable config. (Ctrl + PgUp)

How do you feel about the screen setup? Are the bezels in the way and why do you prefer this style over horizontal setup? If you had more vertical height in your monitors would you use them in horizontal way? Something like 30" 16:10 monitor/s in horizontal setup would be good but too expensive imo. Three 27" 4:3 monitors might be interesting but doesnt? exist atleast in consumer market.

I have decided to use mode switch as little as possible, and actually not using it at all currently. The necessary HOTAS Hat directions are mapped into buttons that were not fitting into the X52 Hats. Works well in a way that I dont have to change modes in flight. I wish there was a way to get the mouse stick working as a POV to get smoother slew. My mouse stick works as a zoom view and it is very good in that function. POV 1 is my slew currently. What did you use to make that profile picture? Edit: Gimp seems to be able to open these. Did you make this template yourself? Can I used it?
