    Unreal Engine 5

Talking about car parts is a bad comparison when setting Hardware and Software alterations properties in the same Workshop for facelifting. To some extent, I agree that building something new is better than trying to refurbish and update a whole system, expanding it to a wider more sophisticated level... As to what is feasible or not - I used to do the repairing of most car parts myself, but I am not a mechanic by profession as much as I am no IT expert too. But, I worked with developers in programming my own game invention, therefore I know exactly where the problem areas are. Instead of a YouTube Video Link, I ought to have linked it directly to the Unreal Engine 5 Site. If the Nanite theme which streams and processes only the detail you can perceive, largely removing poly count and draw call constraints, and eliminating time-consuming work like baking details to normal maps - is exaggerated - time will tell... Quoting Unreal Engine 5 build "is for game developers who like to live on the bleeding edge to start testing features and prototyping their next games" is a tool for developers yet to be tested and checked how far embedding it is compatible with the DCS Engine... Finally, the ED IT department is the one who calls the shots and makes the right decisions in the interest of DCS.

    Unreal Engine 5

For those who do have less knowledge in real time rendering: embedding Unreal Engine 5 in the DCS engine means higher setting in display resolution, which is essential for an 8K-VR AND at the same time more gain in FPS! With my high PC-Specs I still get between 30-40 FPS in my Pimax 4K, because without having a high resolution setting, you can merely depict any target on the ground from far distance. Pimax has just annouced a 12K-VR for next year. To get the most out of it, DCS Engine will surely need that upgrade...

    Unreal Engine 5

The final frontier to reality in simulation has finally been reached! Unreal Engine uses new technology in real time rendering. No more limits to Polygons in a scene. UNREAL ENGINE 5
  4. Would be great for a third world war scenario!
  5. Andre JetSeat: This SIMSHAKER JETPAD is around $ 250. Wouldn't call it cheap... http://website.informer.com/visit?domain=andres.shop&source=domain-visitlinktop&cid=desktop-302e3937393130303030203136333138373939303120393833383636333130&from_dv=1&site_hit=11160301
  6. Anybody can recommand what is the cheapest best alternative for this product on the market?
  7. There has been recently quite an increase in the haptic vests developments for gamers, which transmit haptic perceptions precisely to the body area affected in the game intercourse in real-time through sensors. Here some brands going viral in the media: Tesla suit b-haptics Hardlight VR Subpac M2X Woojer Strap However, we, the virtual flight Simmers community should be intrigued in one aspect of haptic experience we definitely need: high altitude! The Pressure Equalization Suit! Here is the Pneumatically-Actuated Force Jacket (YouTube Video) It also can be used for different types of gaming experience, but I am not sure if DCS has embedded a digital output for the pressure facture hardware-sensors to be simulated in real time, but if not, the algorythm should be ready for use when this hardware is on the market. The Force Jacket appeared in 2018 on the Web, but I could not trace any Implementation as a product for mass production. In case someone did and in case it is ready, that would be awesome; I will definitely look forward buying a Force Jacket as soon as it will available for an affordable price.

  8. The new forum engine deleted all my Activities Streams Content I Started Content I follow Members I Follow Content I Posted In They are all empty showing the same message: There are no results to show in this activity stream yet Am I the only one facing this problem?
  9. Thanks for the Info
  10. Pressing F2 is for External View of Aircraft. I'm blind like BonerCat... So again: 1. What is the key-command for "Pushback"? 2. What is the key-command to "activate the Elevator"? 3. What is the key-command to "move away parked Aircraft on the Elevator"? Please restrict to short brief Info if available and avoid embedding it in long Novel-like enlightenment that leads to nothing but getting lost in the stud. It's really weary sometimes to find a practical clue in some thread that leads to nothing less than a futile search for the needle in a haystack. Thanks
  11. Deleting the signature is deleting our digital ID, where I used to display my Hardware Specs: WIN 10-64. MoBo: ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-F. SAMSUNG 970 EVO+ M.2. CPU: Intel Core i9-9900K. GPU: MANLI RTX 2080 Ti. RAM: KINGSTON HyperX 3200 MHz 32 GB. Monitor: ASUS VG278H 3D FHD/VR: PiMax 4K/TrackIR-5/SAITEK X55-Yoke-Quadrant-Rudder-Trim Wheel. Our Hardware is defacto our digital personality on this forum, where nothing else counts than the type of Hardware in use when describing any technical problem. DCS Please reintroduce the signature
  12. When the head motion is active in TrackIR with all three Gunners, the gun sight movements do not react anymore to the mouse. You have to pause TrackIR to activate the Gunner mouse! This is definitely a bug. Went through an intensive DCS repair procedure without results.
  13. Yeppp - working
  14. After two years of waiting, it is quite frustrating.
  15. I made a mission with a hot Take-Off from the CVN-74 John C.Stennis. But it seems this Take-Off gets literally really HOT because, my Wingman chooses to start so hot on top of me, that I get fired (dead) with a big bang (explosion)... Therefore the "banged" terminology in the title should not be confused with a sexual connotation. Can someone check if this mission has the same "naughty" result? If so then there is a bug in the Mission Editor! FA-18C Defensive Systems HOT.miz
  16. I reckon we are here in the "bug and Report" area. After the last update, I had this Track problem with the FW-190 Dora, so if it is not a general game performance, the admin should know by now where to move and relocate this thread.
  17. I had a few Tracks saved for tough missions worth showing to guests, who want to have a VR experience inside a cockpit. Recently after the last update, replaying the tracks, my plane started to act irrationally, not the way the original flight took place or sometimes just crashing or shooting at the wrong place! Today I saved a new track, and when replayed, the same bugs showed again. I program my own missions, and tracks are an important asset for an analysis. Also, this kind of VR first experience knocks the new spectator out of his seat, the best kind of advertising to win new DCS customers. The problem is how to show you what is going wrong as long as there is no Video recording of the original flight for comparison, therefore attaching a solo Track wouldn't do any help... Any idea? PS. There is no category for Track bugs, so I chose this one.
  18. I'm having a lot of irregularities in VAICOM For example, when flying the P-51D I say Kutaisi - Inbound VAICOM reads it correctly as Kutaisi, but VAICOM output in DCS is instead: Kolkhi . Listening resumed: . Recognized : 'kutaisi' . (awaiting additional input) . Recognized : 'inbound' . TX1 | SEL/AUTO: [ Kutaisi ],[ ],[ ] Inbound [ ] [ ] . Joystick : 'Transmit TX1 release' . Listening suspended DCS: . ATC (Kolkhi): Enfield 1-1, Kolkhi, fly heading 126 for 50, QFE 29.33, runway 27, to pattern altitude . Listening suspended Also often I say Two (wingman) VAICOM reads it correctly but the DCS output is Flight So when I try to send the wingman to engage with Air Defenses, the whole flight is sent instead to do the job, whereas the Second Elements should go to engage Target of Opportunity. Above that, a major problem arose since I installed the software: Sometimes I have to repeat the order up to 5 times until DCS reacts, and that not only through VAICOM, but also with standard F keys. A lot of frustrating irregularities that I cannot reveal the causes.
  19. Let's check the chronological order to save the DCS gfx settings in SkateZilla's DCS Updater GUI / Launcher Utility. So first, you have to: 1. Configure the DCS Options/SYSTEM for VR 2. Exit DCS 3. Go to the folder: Saved Games/DCS/Config 3. Rename the Graphics.lua file set for VR 4. Go back to DCS Options/SYSTEM 5. Configure the DCS Options/SYSTEM for Monitor 6. Exit DCS 7. Go to the folder: Saved Games/DCS/Config 8. Rename the Graphics.lua file set for Monitor 9. Use each lua file as per your session (more details pls) 10. Finally, rename to default the Graphics.lua prior to launching DCS And that is supposed to be an easy matter of course for the DCS common user! Whereas, if we have in the Options/SYSTEM two buttons to; 1. Save for Monitor 2. Save for VR And in a pre-start DCS window also two buttons: 1. Monitor Start 2. VR Start Don't you think that the DCS laymen's majority will be relieved with that short cut? (let alone the Steam users who can't use that mod) PS. Even the old FSX Dinosaur had the possibility to save your own setting in the Options/SYSTEM Since SkateZilla's programming work is already done, ED only needs to embed it in that two buttons slimmed-down version of mine, and the VR/Monitor users are happy...
  20. Well that's a good argument for a double gogo :joystick:
  21. Thanks for the tip. Seems like Zilla has done a good job. Still though, his mod interface seems very demanding. A simple short cut in the standard system setting is surely preferable for common users, who do not want to mess around with mods, risking to screw up something by mistake. Therefore, it would be great if ED takes over Zilla's programming and embed those two options as standard in a pre-start exe. The problem with mods is that they always need a little bit of tuning after each DCS update.
  22. DCS needs badly in Options/SYSTEM 2 save buttons: 1. Save for Monitor 2. Save for VR In the VR cockpit, there are still problems reading the details in gauges, so I still prefer to fly modern aircraft (with MFCD) on Monitor. With my high-end PC (my Signature) I get with the highest monitor system settings a satisfying 60 FPS. But with that same system setting, (4x MSAA, 2x SSAA, 16x Anisotropic Filtering, Lens Effects Dirt & Flare + xtras) my VR Pimax 4k performs around 15 FPS ONLY. (see my thread: 4K VR Slop) So every time I need to shift between VR & Monitor, I have to change the System setting in all its details. On the long term; that sucks  Once those two System settings are saved, a click on the DCS icon for start will pop a pre-start window with two buttons: 1. Monitor Start 2. VR Start So in the Options / SYSTEM page, two buttons are needed: Save for Monitor Save for VR ED will need to invest some programming in it for sure. But, the end justifies the means...
  23. I tested the StarVR One with Tobii Eye Tracking technology and I felt they had almost the same time of latency like my TrackVR. They have a 120Hz Gaze Data Output Frequency (binocular) with an Accuracy of 0.5°–1.1°, which is IMO fast and precise enough for a quick response. Of course, the larger is the HMD FOV, the more eye detecting frame sensors are needed, with a higher CPU-GPU resource inference. But ultimately the foveated rendering Tec spares way more performance resources than the Eye-Tracking can claim. Harlikwin - you have a high level of technical knowledge (and I don't love to prove you wrong), but I think this Tec will become on the long term indispensable for all VR HMD in the near future.
  24. That's good news
