NVIDIA acuity definition: ...the average acuity in adults is about 1.6 times better than 20/20, roughly 20/15 vision, or 80ppd. Visual acuity peaks at around 25 years old and then slowly declines, but even then the average 75 year old has better eyesight than 20/20. Are you referring to the Fraunhofer Institute VR in Berlin (where I live)?
  2. HTC just announced a $150 Eye-tracking Module Supporting All HTC Headsets! Any idea if HP is also planning for an additional eye-tracking module soon?

You're 100% right about the PPD rule of thumb instead of PPI, when dealing with HMD! (FYI The average perception of the human eye retina resolution is 80 PPD) A 4K (8.847.360 pix) 2.98" display viewed in an HMD at a 2.7 Inch distance has a 78.7 PPD, (VARJO VR–1 Bionic Display has also 2.98") which is a little bit below the average vision of 20/15 (80 PPD). Yet there is still the distortion problem in optics dealing with a flat display, which is only solvable when it is replaced with a spherical display, where the scope of the curvature of the display-sphere is synchronized with the distance to the eye field of view; for e.g, a 78.7 pixels per degree are calculated at the flat display focus center, while ~86.5 PPD should be calculated at the edge. (see pic 1.PPD Calculator attached) Anyway, a 5K+ WHXGA GPU performance (2 x 8.847.360 pix) will do the job. For further comparisons see pic 2.Pixels Table attached I made, which also highlights the discrepancies like between UHD & 4K. didn't know that - there is indeed some missed homework I have to catch up with... 2160x2160/eye x 2.89" = 1057 ppi display + 6DOF for $650! Waw - I'll go for that one for sure  https://www8.hp.com/us/en/vr/reverb-vr-headset.html

To exploit the 4K full potential, 4X MSAA is mandatory - maybe we have to fetch for some alien-ware then :pilotfly: There have been developments recently in 8K VR, where I read about HMD with two HDMI cable connections, two graphic cards, so not a hopeless case. I'll try that - thanks On one hand its FPS have better performance, but on the other hand, it runs 2560×1440 (1280×1440 per eye), which makes a total of 3.686.400 pixels (WQHD)-(Pixel Density Approx. 600ppi), which is way below the 8.847.360 pix 4K. So beside FPS, how can it display a better pic quality?
  7. The properties of my new high-end pc depicted in my signature, ensure me for my FHD monitor a steady 60 FPS with the highest DCS system performance settings. (see pic 1. 60 FPS) But the standard VR-preset for my Pimax 4K is way below the minimum and offers me a very bad result (see pic 2. VR standard) After many tests, the only acceptable setting where cockpit gages and other small details are readable is the following: (see pic 3. VR optimum) The problem with it is that I get around some measly 15 FPS only. Why? A High-end PC like this can't cope with a 4K VR? I was planning to purchase the 8K Pimax VR, but it seems to get the best out of it; I'll need to purchase also a second G-Force RTX 2080 Ti-SLI. Someone with same Hardware can recommend me what is the best setting for a minimum 30 FPS?
  8. You're right - thanks - needed only to go a step further... Got it!
  9. I have 26$ Bonus that will expire in three weeks. Whatever I try to purchase: Christen Eagle II, Yak-52, Spitfire LF Mk. IX, M-2000C or Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight... there is only ONE option in the shopping cart that excludes Bonus use: "Enter coupon code for discount (not bonus)" Can anyone tell how can I use this Bonus "lollypop" fund before it expires???
  10. It's been now a year since the Bug with "When ROCKETS and Bomb are loaded, ROCKETS do not fire" has been reported! (also ROCKET EMERGENCY RELEASE does not react) Why is it taking so long to get fixed? PS > when ROCKETS are loaded without Bombs, both with ROCKET EMERGENCY RELEASE work fine, so it seems to be a minor Bug that should not be so tough to solve... I programmed an elaborate mission that depends on both loads where the rescue of ground troops is at stake waiting for salvation. If military maintenance dawdled as slowly as DCS Bug-Support, no wonder Germany lost the war...
  11. I noticed in the UH-1H campaign Aurora, Labels of enemy targets are visualized even though they are covered by objects like big buildings. The problem is that my AI gunman starts endless futile shooting on those covered targets and does not recognize he is hitting the obstacle building in front so that his ammunition is consumed quickly. In other campaigns, Labels covered from mountains are not visualized. The same rule should also be valid for buildings too. If for some reason this is not applicable, or maybe for the advantage of having a total overview of enemy presence, I suggest depicting covered Labels with the standard [-] Label symbolizing a passive target, ([-] = like when option is on Dot Only) and this unshootable target should not have any description. When the ground target is in the field of fire, its [-] Label-symbol is replaced by a [^] symbol beneath the ground object, where its peak is directly pointing at the target without a gap (helps precise aiming at night) and its description should also be beneath its [^] Label-symbol. For Aircraft targets, I suggest a [v] Label-symbol above the aircraft target and its description is also above its [v] Label-symbol. This Lable distinction is most helpful to distinguish particularly parked aircraft on an airport from other ground targets, especially, when in mission editor the Labels are set on "Dot Only".
  12. Thanks  now I can continue with my campaigns
  13. After too many crashes, I had to clean up by deleting my (C:\Users\BiBa\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta) for repair, surely after making a backup. Now I wanted to continue my UH-1H campaign and not start it from scratch all over again, but couldn't find any trace of the previous flown campaigns mission. Aren't they not supposed to be here: (C:\Users\BiBa\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta.Backup\Missions\Campaigns)? Well, this one is empty and couldn't find any trace. :( Where is the path where the flown campaign missions are saved?
  14. Is this Mod compatible with World version 2.5?
  15. Oops, forgot this one. Thanks… But why the EKRAN Label is still in Russian? (see pic)
  16. Many thanks. Here what came out with this algorithm: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3303300/
  17. Even though in the Special Setting, the KA-50 Customized Cockpit is set to English, (see attached pic 1) everything in the Cockpit is in Eglish with the exception of the ABRIS + EKRAN, they remained in Russian! (see attached pic 2) I've executed the Repair Tool but didn't help. Those are the most important instruments to be read, and I cannot read Russian. Please help
  18. I want to set a Trigger with four possibilities from where only one enemy convoy can be activated at mission start. The 50% random option could start sometimes more than one, so my quest is, what type of command chain like (4.MISSION START) in the Trigger List / Condition / Action else than random can I use to guarantee that only ONE Group out of several will be activated at mission start? Many thanks in advance
  19. This file is a device-profile and not an App. When you open your SAITEK x55-Rhino App for programming any new profile, click on save-as and check the path where the App chose. Then copy my Profile and paste it into this file-path. All you need to do then is to click on the SAITEK Icon in the taskbar with the right mouse, my Profile will appear there. Click on it and play.
  20. Got it - Thanks! The DOF Standard for FA-18C are: limits_6DOF = {x = {-0.13,0.30},y ={-0.3,0.065},z = {-0.18,0.18},roll = 90.000000}, Anybody knows what setting is recommended to lean forward very close to the gauges?
  21. Thanks... I'm following up the subject now in your thread and have put there a question for you.
  22. The path I found is different: C:\Users\BiBa\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\FA-18C_hornet. There is no Config\View file. In my Config there is only the Input file and its backup. In it are the classic fours: joystick, keyboard, mouse, trackir. Only the joystick folder is occupied with files. So could not find neither the server.lua nor the View.lua. To create it manually you say, we should define a Snapview. How do you you do that to create a View.lua data?
  23. ...a photo speaks volumes... Thanks for the Info. Have to rethink a purchase twice now. I guess I'll wait a while to see in which price category this new Starvr One will be, with the unparalleled natural field of view of 210° horizontal and 130° vertical. https://www.starvr.com/products/
  24. ...well-founded argument
  25. Distortion and falsification of the someone's word is called denigration and could be enough reason to file a complaint to the Admin for character's disparagement. There you will be the one who will say whoppsi! Hitting a nerve with defamation or trying to be funny at the expense of someone else is not advisable in DCS forums.
