Well that surely goes for FSX standard Helicopters. But did you try the Jetranger 206 from Dodosim? It has also a Cargo Hook/Unhook utility. Once you reach flying that thing in level 5 setting, you'll change your mind. Beside that, Dodo was one of the first who added a Cumulative Wear and Damage system in FSX. And as long as we still don't have any Cargo Hooking option in DCS, I still need to "hook up" in FSX to quencher that thirst. Yet no matter what a wonderful job Dodosim did with its Jetranger 206, I've got to admit, it can't top the Uh-1Huey

I've just installed FC3. I went to DCS Users Files Downloads looking for Device Profiles for my Saitek X52 for: A-10A F-15C Su-25T Su-27 Su-33 Mi-29A Mi-29C but couldn't find one single, neither Saitek nor anything else! Is FC3 so unpopular that no Simmer was bounteous enough to share his Device treasures with the rest of the community? Need some tip for FC3 devices. Thanks

So... maybe because they thought there was Global Warming up there, they ran in a hurry for the guys wearing Bikini & Tangas and got their butt frozen!? You see - Global Warming has tricked them again and is indeed to blame for everything :megalol:

Uniform system of mouse commands for knobs and switches for ALL AI
BiBa replied to BiBa's topic in DCS Wishlist
No further inconsistencies I'm aware of for now... Multistage switches should be limited from cyclic toggle in only up or down / left or right mouse and always configured with two key commands. This goes for now for many switches, which is a great thing, but would be perfect if also complemented uniformally for the rest of them. Also the mouse wheel turning should be uniformly taken into consideration. I have a Kensigton Mouse with a right-left wheel, which makes turning knobs a real pleasure. There is an Axis assignment for all three P-51 sytems for Pich, Yaw & Roll Trimmers in the Option/Controls/Axis Command Assign, which I adore, because it makes the cockpit "almost" perfect... Unfortunatly as it is the only AI with a Gear lever, a Gear Axis Command Assign is also needed there to make it perfect! In FSX I use the three Lever Saitek Throttle Quandrant as extension to my X52, where one Lever is assigned for the Gear. Beside the joy of having a physical Lever in touch, you never forget with it to lower the Gear, no matter how "high" you can be. :pilotfly: -
For the third time; there is a Big word in the thread's title, as I made my researches on Big planes. As to Small fighters; I usually double check things before coming out and about gavagai's Fw 190D-9 and Bf 109F/G/K, well I've checked for the third time in the DCS Encyclopedia but couldn't trace them. Maybe overseen, maybe they are cited under different name or maybe they are not yet added there. But Small is not my issue. If you're so keen on it, I suggest you make your own research for your own Small Wingspans list... You just do the Voodoo you do! And instead of hexing the empty part of the cup with sarcasm, try to fill the other half with serenity for a change :book:

Yeah, that's a good one - for Users who do not have a second monitor (like me :P)... But hasn't that been implemented by DCS; when I click "show pilot" he has already a Kneeboard, and that is without PeterP's Add-On. I'm sure there is a lot more out there plus some "Area 51 UFOs", with even smaller Wingspans... My focus was only restricted on DCS available AIs ;)

Questions regarding the stability and control of the Mustang
BiBa replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
Looking at the Video of PeterP, I think he did a wonderful job with his balance mounted cyclic construction. (this thread Page 5) I wonder what such a design construction would cost if made available for the market... -
Well - I'm really anxious for the next Cargo missions. From my FSX experience with swing load, I can say that with the Huey, it's going to be a real challenge!
-
I wonder if the option External Cargo Hook/Unhook is operative or still in plan for future activation. If I it is, then there must be somewhere a Cargo-mission extra for download! Thanks

Uniform system of mouse commands for knobs and switches for ALL AI

Left or right, there are different perspective approaches and arguments for decision making, and I'll make my brain take even a U-turn if I have to, as long the decision IS made for ONE uniform mouse system! You'll be amazed when you find out what's behind the brain phenomenology of left and right and the kind of impact it had on the history of mankind; it's not east west related, but rather with the bias thinking of good and bad, starting with "good" Angels placed over the right shoulder and "bad" Angels over the left. Almost in all civilizations children were forbidden to write with the left hand, seen as work of the "devil". It's because the right hand is controlled by the left brain hemisphere responsible for rational thinking, while the right brain is more for subconsciousness, that's why left hand writers were claimed to be under evil spell and were banned in all monotheistic societies and 90% of the rest civilizations. There are tons of resources starting from holistic learning down to occultism related to. Yet in one thing the western thinking has been established, cornering the word right - right side / hand with the Right (juridically), also in German "Rechts" and French "Droit". All of them equals = straight, upright, righteous, upstanding. While left is for eg in German equals bad thing "linke Sache". Do you think that the Oligarchs decided to corner also political streams from socialism to fascism with leftist and rightist just by coincidence!? Me personally I prefer pragmatically the logical solution. For eg knob turning right needs right click / right wheel turn etc... -
Questions regarding the stability and control of the Mustang
BiBa replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
The mass-attack phenomena "markwilliam" was facing is a recurring problem in DCS Support, that is turning its Forums more to a "Wailing Wall" than the Support-role it was thought for. I couldn't trace any direct affront in his replies towards any member, whereas notorious "Forum Lobbies" concealed with rhetoric laminate, harbor often in their sarcastic attitude more ranting than a direct BS or FUs. This destructive attitude is contra-productive and doesn't help reaching higher latitude, what a Forum was meant for. In return, I admire the factual clarity and serenity of how for eg Belsimtek/TFC Associate like EvilBivol-1 deals with things. This is the kind of characteristic attitude that should be set as paragon, which prevails in dealing with technical terms, no matter how bold criticism is, as long as it's exclusively framed in the context of technical terminology. Down by laws of gravity, what comes up must come down - what is wrong can't stall long! No need for disgraceful sneering to call a spade a spade... Neurotic narcissists are here unnecessary, misleading and out of place. The problem is: they are not aware to acquire this self-knowledge, because vanity is their muse... It's the speciality of the Moderator to filter them up. -
Uniform system of mouse commands for knobs and switches for ALL AI

An exhumation application is strongly recommended! In other words, the administrative directory should have set the programing conditions of standard parameters for all partners since day One! Obviously the leadership's guidance suffers from deficiencies in hyperopia :pilotfly: -
Uniform system of mouse commands for knobs and switches for ALL AI
BiBa replied to BiBa's topic in DCS Wishlist
I'm not sure I can follow what you mean wih your "easy" logic!? I'm sure this is the kind of sacrifice every Simmer looking for "perfection" is willing to make... I also have invested as well many many hours, that I'll gladly give away for that uniform system. On the contrary - what is making customers hesitate in buying more planes are these chaotic minorities in AI interfaces. -
Questions regarding the stability and control of the Mustang
BiBa replied to Pajeezy's topic in DCS: P-51D Mustang
This $350 Heli-Kit http://www.heli-kit.com.ar/ is basically for Helicopters, but by reversing the Collective, it is better suitable for the P-51 with its cyclic stick that matches the P-51 stick properties better than any fly by wire sophisticated Joystick on the market! Rudders are also included on a uniform platform for all three parts, which makes it the best investment for a whole package... Its Collective Command has also a Twist Throttle that can be assigned for the Range Dial! -
That's why I named it Big Wingspans. May be in this case I ought to have rather called it slaughter for a Pigfight! ;) The rule of thumb for fighters is between (P-51) 37 - 57 feet or 11,28 - 17,38 meters . The margin is so small there is no room for big fallacy, if set to a general scale of 45 feet / 13,7 meters for Dogfights as an acceptable quick alternative.
-
With the exception of the Mi-8 Magnificent I have the whole DCS serie. Everyone knows how tiresome it is to remember each plane's own knob and switch system as they differ from each other. As the DCS World Open Beta is still on construction, please use a uniform system of mouse commands for ALL knobs and switches in ALL DCS AI - for eg: All switch-ups = right mouse All switch-downs = left mouse All knobs right turns = right mouse or right/up wheel turn All knobs left turns = left mouse or left/down wheel turn Thanks
-
I made here a JPEG with a list of 18 Big Enemy Wingspans for P-51 in Foot and Meter scale for all those who in the heat of a dogfight need a quick info on the target.

SORRY - I must have been blind! I just found out, there are Yaw & Roll Trimmers in the Option/Controls/Axis Command! OOOPS  So instead I'll have to be looking for an extra hardware with two extra knobs for Yaw & Roll :music_whistling:
-
Yes this is also what I'm doing right now, because I also like it real... Usually I have my Saitek X52 two knobs assigned for Yaw & Roll in FSX for all other AI. But in the P-51 they are occupied for the Range Dial & Span Knob. For eg during Takeoff, the Yaw must be set to 5 right. Not using the "virtual trimmer" means I have to reset it manually in the virtual cockpit, and that requires view contact during the critical climbing process. So this "cheating" Trim option is in my opinion still required for now, until DCS decides to extend the Axis assignment for Yaw & Roll Trimmers! Until then a "cheating trimmer" only for Yaw & Roll is still needed.
-
Happy new year first to all DCS Users! Is there maybe an Add-On for the P-51 like the "Unchain rudder from trim - PeterPs" Ka-50, but who can unchain instead the Elevator/pitch? The reason why it's needed is because I use for the Pitch Axis assignment the Saitek Cessna Trim Wheel, that has no physical pitching stop, but stupidly always starts where it's been set, and not where the Sim has been changed. For eg if while landing I increase with the Saitek the Pitch up to 5 and I click on the Trimmer, all Yaw, Roll & Pitch are reset to zero. But as soon as I slightly reoperate the Saitek Pitch trimmer, it jumps automatically to 5, which makes the transition a bit chaotic. I wrote to Saitek asking if there is a driver that takes over from the Sim level, rather than the physical Saitek Pitch Trimmer, but unfortunately not. Until then, the only solution is a similar Add-On like for the Ka-50. Thanks

Weird, the German Site has no new ticket option. it seems only in English is this available. LockOn at Amazon.com.uk had problem with my delivery adress?! Lock on doesn't have it on stock. So I bought again a second hand copy from US and takes up to 4 weeks. Hope this one is not damaged.
-
Now with DCS Winter Sale, I would like to order DCS Flaming Cliffs 3. As Lock On - Modern Air Combat is needed, I've had the bad luck of purchasing a damaged version on Ebay, so it was wasted money. First question is since there is no Download version for it in Europe, if it could be arranged just to buy the software key of Lock on without having to instal it, that enables Flaming Cliffs 3. Second question: I wanted to open a new Ticket on DCS home User Support, but even though logged in, this option doesn't exist anymore. So how are we supposed to contact Home Support? There is only the option to make an ID inquiry left. Thanks

It's interesting though your idea using it as a rudder trim. I assume you've turned it 90° aside. I was looking for a similar instrument for Aileron/Rudder Trim. Would be nice a little bit smaller than the Elevator Trim, but will do as alternative. Beside that, the disadvantage of this Trim Elevator is that, if you've also assigned the Up/Down Trimming on the joystick buttons and have used them, the Trimmer always starts where you've left it and not where the airplane changed trimmer status is. Should be possible because it has no mechanical stop. I wonder if there is a suitable software/driver that can solve this problem.
-
Yes it's a Trim wheel. Well I made the same movement (twisting in both directions) as I did with the assignment of the other three SAITEK accessoire that I have, but didn't work... But I've just solved the issue; as it's a one Axis instrument, you have to click in the "Key / Button" box and choose JOY_X. Seems like the only exception for the SAITEK collection in DCS. But thanks anyway.
