I haven't seen something even remotely resembling what i see in this gif you posted. Look at my pics at post 70 the shell hits the tail section and ... nothing. Or at post 72 above.No indication of hit. That is what i see.

@SITHSPAWN please accept my apology. I'm have a choleric personality :D. But my bigest problem is you can't tell if you get hits with the 108.On ww2 guncam footage you can see a puff of smoke. As far as i can tell only the HEI make a flash.With the m-geschoss there is no sign of a hit. You can see on the track the action was a lot faster and at first i thought i missed.But then i changed view on the p51 and i saw the damage. luft_5-2.trk

Here is track that goes with the pic posted in my previous post.After 7 hits no problem.The number of hits in Tacview is always half the number we see in debrief. It's a 1.2.14.35513 version so i had to reverd because i wasn't showing what really happened in latest version of DCS. This is a 30mm hit of the wingtip region. Not even this region is broken off or even compromised structuraly. Look at the pics below how the tracer hits the p51. And you can't even tell if you hit with the m-geschoss shells. In WW2 gun cam footage you can clearly see the hits. What the hell is this ? No tracers.No way to tell if you hit of not. Thank god we have moders. 7-108-hits-1.2.14.35513.trk

That's exactly what i think. A hit in the wing, fuselage should at least compromise the wing , fuselage structurally and aerodynamically (so when g is pulled it should brake off easier). Tacview estimates the number of hits to be exactly half the number shown at debrief screen.So i hit the p51 7 times with 108 shells. I can't show you the track because it didn't record exactly what happend. This happens sometimes. @SITHSPAWN How can you say the 108 seems fine to you ? Show me a fighter plane that was hit 7 times by 108 shells and flies like nothing happend.

For me the bigger problem was the lack of tunnel vision. In beta version i pulled 8.8 g b4 my wing broke.But no black vision at all. In real life you feel the G force on your body but in game imho we need some kind of visual warning i guess.Or audio(metal stress sounds and what not). Sith i know you already reported this but just wanted to express my opinion.

About the pictures i respectfully report the folowing: -The Ai plane flew on like nothing hapened. -Its hard to find the track for this one because i saved so many. -I wish the 30mm ammo would make big holes. I mean i hit the cockpit dead on and the tail. There should be two craters :D .Destroyed cockpit,pilot, tail with a big hole in it. I'm not going to be absurd and say that every shot i take at the Ai leaves it intact. And i'm making such a big deal aut of this because for me damage modeling comes first in a combat simulation.

50+ what ? airsoft pellets ? or 37 mm ammo :megalol: ? So the luftwaffe experts that calculated 3-4 shots were enough to take down a b17( this knowing their country was at stake) did't know what they were doing ? Maybe for a t34 tank that would be true . This is what mk108 damage on b17 looks like:

By German calculations, it took about 15-20 hits with the MG 151/20 ordnance to down a heavy bomber, but this was reduced to just 3-4 hits for a 30 mm shell, from the shattering effects of the hexogen explosive in the shells used for both the long-barreled MK 103 and shorter barreled MK 108 cannon. (Only 4-5 hits with 20 mm calibre ordnance were needed for frontal attacks. 3-4 hits for a b17.Probably less for a frontal attack with 30mm, nd i flew a mission where one ai p51 was hit 36 times b4 going down. qIohE9n2IT8 minute 1:10 to min 1:15 presents the effects of 37mm ammo on german planes.It vaporizes them.:D In the first image the first shell on the left is a mk108 30mm german shell. In the second image the last shell on the right is a russian 37mm shell used by the yak9t's 37mm cannon presented in the video. Even if not as powerfull, considering that the explosive power of a shell was a lot deadlier to an airplane than the penetrating power, the 30 imho should not be as week in dcs.

I haven't found any way to change mw50 tank content in MP. Would be nice to have as a feature. More range with more b4 fuel or leave the mw50 tank empty for a little lighter plane. @JST Nice work ! You have a like and sub from me.

From what i read the P51 should be much faster and climb better than a k4 without mw50(I want to fly like that to simulate a 109G's performance). Does this apply to DCS ?

1.For me that's so easy.It's a joke. And i don't mean anything by it. I'm just saying what it is. 2.Does it seams realistic to you for a p51 to receive a 30mm shell dead on in the cockpit and to still fly like nothing happened ? Or two in the same wing ? 3.I hit the tail section of a 109 with multiple 30 mm shells and it did not to brake (post mission info estimates 6) and than i hit another 109 in the same tail section with 10 (post mission log) 50 call rounds and it broke off . Does this seem normal to you ?

@Pilum The 50 cal machine gun damage model has been improved.I posted a demo at post 28, the last part of the video . I think it was too weak b4 and now it's just a little, little bit overpowered.

In al my 1.5 years of ww2 sim flying i have never been shot down by a spit 14 and if i did my kill death ratio vs it must be about 20 to 1. Most spit pilots will choose mk9 because it turns tighter. For me it's harder to kill an mk 9.I can't count how many times i've been shot down by one. And all this talk about octanes and what not. All allied fighters will be way slower than the historically 1944 present me 262 anyway. I would have wanted a fw a5,6,7,8 and a g14 , 6 but the decision was not mine.

I wish the mustang gets 75 octane fuel too. -I wish we got a 109g6 with the liberty to choose between mk108 30mm and mk 151 20mm. Also the G6 is inferior in every way to the spitfire mk9 . So when i kill a spit pilot it's a great feeling. Last week(In Old il21946) i shot down 4 spits9,25lbs in one mission at low alt with a 109g14 all with an alt advantage over me.And these apits are better in every way vs the g14. Of course i don't do this every time.No one can. -The G6 turns a lot better than the k4. It's not as easy as you think to shoot down an experienced pilot with the p51. Some people would still say it's so hard to shoot this g6. It should be sabotaged .This is the historical accurate way. -The mustang weapons are now very powerfull.You can brake a 109 in half with a few hits.That's a bid advantage.

In this shot i hit the propeller hub dead on.The propeller should be destroyed or the engine should at least stop even for an Ai plane. Damage-108-3.trk
