  1. I don't see any problem for a F4U-4 fight vs a 109.And i fly mostly 109. I would also love to fly one,but with cannon armament not mg .
  2. I see some people mistake shooting skill with historical damage model. I can kill the crap out of a p51 online and offline with my cannon. Online there is no p51 pilot that can claim he shot me down more than I shot him down.

  4. qB8FlckQHcw This document presents a test done by the US to evaluate what damage would a 30mm cannon shell inflict on a p47 fighter. http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=get...fier=ADA800394 The test shows that you have a 28% chance of killing a p47 with one shot. And a 40% chance of doing enough damage with one shot to a p47 so that it's unable to return to base if the base Is 2 hours away or more. In my video I hit the Ai p51 five times and it's flying like nothing happened(first shooting in my video). The last shooting in my video is vs a human player flying a p51. The document below shows that the damage a 30mm 108 cannon does is mostly to the structure of a fighter. But vs human pilots in most cases like the above video example I kill the engine or the pilot. This is contrary to the test performed in real life. Also the human flown p51 engines stop sometimes when I score hits on the p51's wings. And overall for human flown p51 the engine seems too fragile and the structure too tough compared to the historical test results I posted. "A" tipe kill is : the aircraft goes down in the next five minutes. "B" tipe kill is : the aircraft can't return to home base(because of combat damage) if the base is 2 hours flight time or more away. Also no coment on the 37mm hit from the mig 15 on the p51.
  5. Sithspawn post is condescending nothing more . Sithspawn said nothing is wrong with the way 109 wings broke. And i had to take the time to prove he was wrong. I don't want to take the time to prove him wrong again.
  6. BpTrygZfC-g min 4.27 "There is evidence that a 109 would turn tighter than a spitfire". I don't want the 109k to outurn a spifire mk14 for example. Not to mention a spit 9. But what i see in DCS the 109 turns performance is too close to the mustang which is a ton heavier has laminar wings(that aren't great for low speed turning) and doesn't have slats. Plus the 109 at the moment has a 30m/s climg rate that is higher than historical and that should also help in it's turning performance. I would be ready to belive the low speed performance the 109 has in DCS because i see Yo-Yo as a talented FM creator but the way it falls on one wing and hangs/stops then twiches it just doesn't match at all what i read about the 109.
  7. I had a lot of trouble at first too because I used landing flaps setting to take off like I did back in il2 1946.First check you are using take of flaps position 15 degrees or so.Than pull the stick back as soon as you start to taxi and use pedal brakes or keys assigned as pedal brakes to steer.I find the 109 is the most fun to take off.
  8. Exactly. +Why is the wingtip that touched the ground and broke off flying faster than the plane ? :D The friction with the ground should have slowed it down more than the plane.
  9. I see yo-yo as a man that does his job with professionalism and dedication. I can't say i'm not happy with the 109 FM in DCS. It stalls and shakes too easy imho and I gave other general concerns I posted .But compared with another I can't even say "simulator" where the 109 flat stalls when pulling mild negative g.I mean that's a disaster of FM.And a ton of fanboys that also don't fly the 109 in that "simulator" are saying that fm is accurate .
  10. It is you who are trolling this thread. You don't even fly the 109.I can't make it more obvious than that. The 109 overclimbs.By how much only the devs know. The flaps give no advantage in turning. Finish, german, british testi pilots all belive the 109 had mild stall characteristics. But the 109 in game stalls all over the place sometimes it's on the edge of stall at over 400km'h. Of course with a extended warthog the 109 might be a joy to fly. What do I know.
  11. Unless you have evidence or numbers this is just an assumption. Do you even fly the 109 in game ? No. So you're just making assumptions that the FM is 100 righ . One of the D9's cannons has a bug for months. Nobody fixed it.The mustang firing bug that totally ruing fps is there for years but thank god the accelerated stall for the 109 in accurate.
  12. Slats "behaviour" of on Mig3 : On the night before enemy forces invaded our country, concurrent testing was concluded by the Scientific Research Institute of VVS and LEE NKAP in testing the effectiveness of elongated automatic slats on the MiG-3. With slats, the engineers and test pilots noted that the fighter ceased to stall without warning, the fighter also proved easier to control while executing aerobatic maneuvers. The MiG-3 was easily leveled prior landing; in other words, it gave more control and did not have a tendency to roll over to the side when the pilot pulled on the control stick. - The results noted: Automatic slats, length 2004 mm, on the serial MiG-3 considerably eliminated stalls and increased controllability when speed was lost. Before a stall, the aircraft would warn the pilot by rocking, and when a stall was imminent, the aircraft dipped its nose and banked to the right. The installation of the slats considerably simplified piloting and made it possible to control the aircraft with a loss of speed. - From empirical tests it was seen that fighters with “smooth” wings, critical speed leveled off at 190 km/h but when the slats were added the speed dropped to 155-160 km/h. In certain conditions, for example when turning, the MiG-3 completely stopped stalling. Its behaviour tended to give more warnings than with 1573 mm slats. - The majority of test flights were done by test pilots A.I. Zhukov, V.N. Savkin, V.T. Sahranov, noting that thanks to the slats, piloting the plane was a lot easier."
  13. I found this document on another forum: http://oai.dtic.mil/oai/oai?verb=getRecord&metadataPrefix=html&identifier=ADA800394 It estimates hitting power of german 30mm 108 vs a p47 aircraft. "A" tipe kill is : the aircraft goes down in the next five minutes. "B" tipe kill is : the aircraft can't return to home base if the base is 2 hours flight time or more away. This last image shows that the damage done by german 30mm is mostly structural damage. Sometimes in the game a p51 get's hit in the tail by 30mm a few times and nothing. And than i hit it once with 0.50 mm from both nose mg's and the tale brakes off. The damege model works by counting Hit points i think. When gunpods are going to be available i will be one happy panda.
  14. I'm not flying the p51 but i will the p47 and i want to set up my baby's guns just the way i want them.
  15. If i fly for axis I would love that i mean to be outnubered .But i don't think i's possible because if i want to fly axis and the server will not let me join because it has a certain ratio of allies to axis aircraft than i can't play at all. But if i fly the p47 i wouldn't like it .Too few targets. I do support the crazy high power settings on the p47.But the allied fighters will have to face the me262. and it's a better energy fighter than any allied fighter anyway.
  16. I'm curious. Comparing g6 with g10,14 which one turned better ? I think k4 was the worst turning plane.
  17. I don't think scaling is the solution. Better lods , sunlight reflection would be better solutins imho.
  18. So he can call other people "incompetent" at will. I'm sorry i responded to that.
  19. My problems are : 1.The p51 can keep turning at lower speeds than the 109.I can still turn with a p51 at 250 km/h .With a 109 i can't turn under 290 km/h.What i read it's the other way around. 2.The 109's flaps offer 0 turn advantage in the latest DCS version. As far a turn radius it's not a complaint i just turn better with the p51.That's just me. Why do you feel the need to disrespect other people.I have a much better kill death ratio than you (that is without head tracking ,i use the mouse to look around). You don't see me disrespecting other people. Grow up man.
  20. I wish the mustang gets 150 octane too. I wish there was an official answer : It will be available .... april ,may, june It will not be available because .....
  21. That's exactly what I noticed. 0 flap advantage in a turn. That's unrealistic. I read about Marseille using landing flaps to turn better. That may be just a war story but combat flaps should help in turning. What's your online name ? i'm just curious how many times I shot you down ? Mine is ivjg4-Knight. I'm not part of jg4 but jg4 had a knight emblem and I like knights :D . I noticed 4trouble was a great F.. pilot.I was honoured to fight him.
  22. That picture is just cherry picked. We should now allow it .You said it not me. Oh my god I got so upset because you get upset and call me luftwhiner.Very mature what can I say . You're right! only a whiner would think that 3 30mm hits to the tail section should do at least some damage. Oh and the majority of people that voted think i'm right . There are also tons of references about how powerfull the 30mm was: Helmut Lennartz . august 15 1944 . me 262 combat testing: Vs a b17 near near Stuttgart . "i scored hits on the left wing.the effect was devastating, the wing broke away immediately" 16 august 1944 Siegfried schubert while flying a me163 cuts the tail section of a b17 with just 3 30mm shells.
  23. The two guns and their accessorizes weigthed 135 kg, and 215 kg complete with ammunition. The gondolas clean aerdynamic drag was equivalent of +0,0215 sq. meters of Δ[Fcw], or resulted roughly about -8 km/h speed loss at SL. To this needed to be added the increased induced drag resulting from the added weight of 215kg, i.e. roughly equivalent to about - 1,5 km/h at SL and about -6 km/h at rated altitude, as per this January 1944 document: http://kurfurst.org/Performance_test...ragitems_table what is that supposed to mean ?
  24. Now I understand :smartass:.Thanks for the explanation.
  25. It's highly unlikely the fw had 30mm ammo since usually this kind of ammo was used to shoot bombers on the western front. It's a Russian documentary : weapons of victory part 28. The narator tells you in russian what kind of plane, gun is in video I posted. If you want to see another example of 37mm damage you can see in DCS the mig15 can kill a f86 with one 37mm shot from any angle 90% of the time. But you can't blow a horizontal stabilizer or vertical stabilizer with three shots to the tail ? That's at least questionable. Your "unquestioned, absolute proof" : "There are B-17s that had 88mm detonate INSIDE the fuselage that made it home". Is not even a video. It's just words. Where is your video ? Why SHOULD we allow such words is.This is "UNALAWELABLE".:megalol: Of course it can .You find out that now ? :megalol:
