  1. yeah i totally agree...and you know i do ;) 109G and Fw190A8 would be awesome...heck ive said it quite often, give me a 109F4 and i wont complain. more variety will always be a good thing for all of us and the longevity of the sim.
  2. well...whats the goal of this discussion really? to tell every 109 pilot he only has kills because he flies that certain aircraft? he must have no clue right, because he flies that uber plane, and skill is of no relevance, because he has the wonder weapon? different aircraft have different advantages and disadvantages...if you want all equal, then we will have to create a pure airquake server where the same types fight each other, i.e. spit vs. spit.... if you don't like the disadvantages the one aircraft has, and dont know what to do with the advantages it has, then choose the other aircraft, which according to this discussion must be a total noob plane outturning and outclimbing ufo's, shooting lightenings out of its ass... or you can wait for the Mk XIV, which i think, will dominate in every relevant discipline. but probably, we will see the same threads pop up, leading to nothing but anger, frustration, deleted posts and banned people. really where should this be heading? we can hope that ED gives us more variety in future with either adding different boosts, fuel types and hopefully also more aircraft, but other than that, whats the purpose of this discussion? to attack people who are flying the 109?denying them skill because they fly that certain aircraft? cool, i fly the g6 from now on...oh wait, there is none...
  3. ^^thats correct...all my cars so far did this...but, in the aircraft im flying i havent noticed this yet, or at least definitely not as pronounced that it would be obvious.
  4. absolutely wrong what you are saying here....the flaps make the plane more nose heavy and stable for take off...thats also the reason why its recommended by rl 109 pilots...
  5. whats interesting in game is, that all ww2 aircraft seem to burn fuel faster the less they have....the first 200liters in the 109 take quite a long time to burn, but the second half goes empty really rapid... its the same with the p51....where you can literally watch how quickly the last 5 to 10gallons in each tank vaporise.... and this effect is definitely most pronounced in the spit...at least it was with the previous patch where the last 20gallons vanish within like 5min
  6. well, for the stats i couldnt care less, except that i would want to see them vanish again, as they are reason for lots of really ugly online behaviour. also, they are not telling much in regards of aircraft performance, not until the pilots really got used to fly the spit to its limits for quite a while...years pretty much as for damage model, we all know its being worked on, and we all hope we will get it rather sooner than later...anyway, the 109 is way more advanced and vulnerable than the p51 for example(it has radiator leaks, it has fuel leaks, lost control surfaces which actually do make a difference, lost rudder=flat spin=dead) but yes Krupi, im all for giving the spit 25lbs boost as an option, and im totally with you about more aircraft variants...especially as they have the base already...a 109K4 isnt that far off from any other 109 version, im sure they could use it as a workbase and start from there. i would assume that development time would be decreased for creating any new 109 variant compared to a completely new aircraft. and we will need these variations...
  7. obviously you didn't read my post...try once more.
  8. while i agree that the model indeed looks not as nice as the spit or many other modules, i think i would prefer them to focus first on the bugs the module has for months or since the initial release...and afterwards, instead of creating or improving the current K4 3d model, which doesnt look too bad imo, i would prefer them to actually give us a 2nd 109 variant, and then this time maybe with more polygons, as i agree, performance is not the issue as other modules prove.
  9. hey swaquark...im no expert in that field but i just did a quick test of my internet connection: 75.61Mbit/s down 6.6Mbit/s up so actually pretty much the same what you have... now when we do some squad training, we usually host the server from my machine...everything below 10people seems about fine...but 10 i think is pretty much the barrier where things turn bad, to a point where it starts to become unplayable. all the other stuff, like flying from a 2nd machine, or doing other internet activities will also affect it of course...
  10. thats good to hear...could this be related to people starting to spike/lag once they make rapid hard manouvers as well??cause thats a typical scenario you see as well in dcs, while they fly steady manouvers, everything seems to be ok, but once you are behind them, many start to go crazy on the controls, and thats where usually they start to seriously lag/spike, while their ping isnt an issue...i know not related to the tracer bug here, but just asking whether this overflow of data could be a cause of this?
  11. one slight correction...while the dcs stats claimed 2losses, the only real loss i had was with the collision...the other loss visible in the stats came out of nowhere even before we took off for the first time, before the match actually started... and we didnt win because of me, but because of every single pilot on our side...everybody contributed to it....oh and we still dont know officially whether we really won it btw. :)
  12. ok....i think last comment from me now in this topic....if 1 on 1 does not tell anything in regards of relative aircraft performance, then i dont know what is... anyway, if 1v1 does not prove anything as you say, where i would disagree, then the only logical result would be, that teamwork does make the difference...and lack of teamwork has nothing to do with the spitfire and how much boost it has, or how fast it is, or whatever, but has only to do with the pilot(s) in question. best regards my friend.
  13. yeah you know Krupi, i think we are drifting way off topic now, and i'm not in the mood to start a fight with you here now for now reason while we are obviously talking aside each other i think now....anyway, im on the acg server today...and i offer to fly the spit against you in an aircraft of your choice... :)
  14. yeah, i know, it can be frustrating to see the oponent just to run away, and you cant do much about it...but in that situation, just imagine, that its just as frustrating for the guy running because he knows that he cant do anything else without getting into serious trouble....remembering this will remain you more calm, and keep you fly more disciplined....and having patience is key, as most of the german pilots, will stay disciplined only up to a certain point...if the first or second boom n zoom attacks didnt work out, most of them will keep trying with more and more commitment...out of frustration, they will fly more and more to your rules until you actually have that advantage you need... right now, every aircraft has certain advantages and disadvantages over its enemies....i assume that the spit xiv will change that for the first time, and i think it will be the first aircraft which outdoes its enemies(except 190s roll rate) in every discipline...and even if in some aspects its only a close advantage, it will still dominate in every phase of the fight....so i think that will be a new chapter for dcs ww2, and while im really looking forward to fly against it, i dont expect it to be even at all...not even close tbh...still, absolutely looking forward to fight it....
  15. Well if they just run, or strictly stay on boom n zoom tactics executed perfectly then yes...then they will stay above you...but without being a real threat...then it could be considered as disengaging almost..once they do start to trade their energy for angles, they are playing to your rules
  16. if you haven't already, try to map the brakes to an axis if you have one...makes groundhandling much easier, and actually i think a joy with the spit...p51 will still stay by far the easiest on the ground though. not using any curves is also my approach, but i dont use them for the rudder either...you will get used to make only slight inputs with the rudder, and then its actually pretty straight forward, even with the missing stick forces. engine managment is also i think pretty straight forward in the spit...as Yo-Yo mentioned, try not to go below 180...that way you can go full power all day long without any trouble. and i personally prefer to just lower the nose to not go below that speed, instead of throttling back, unless im in direct shooting position...that way, you will still outturn everything around you, but more important, in the end you will most likely have more and more energy relatively to your oponent, ending up above him with more speed, and at that point, if you dont mess it up completely, he is done....
  17. yeah would be awesome if that bug could be hunted down...i agree with bounder...it can be a really frustrating experience, and can confirm defaultface's comment about it happening at the probably exact same moment to several people...
  18. yes and no...just like with all the other ww2 birds, yes, the stick stiffens up above stall speeds, and yes you feel buffeting just fine...as to your question whether ffb is applying correct effects based on airspeed, i say no...while the stick does stiffen up above stall speed, from then on, its pretty much the same force you feel, and whether you go 200 or 400 makes no difference...interestingly, dcs does not seem to use the full force the sidewinder can provide...you can feel this in other sims, where the stick does stiffen up much more and where you can feel what the sidewinder is capable of in regards of centering force. i hope they will adjust this in future and make the stick stiffen up even more at higher speeds, so that we can feel a difference between lets say 200 and 400... all in all though, dcs does the best job in implementing ffb of all the sims out there i think...lets hope they improve it even further.
  19. cool! i hope you guys do many more of these events, so that eventually we will have a solid and robust netcode.
  20. don't know...been here for like 5years, with many patches regarding netcode, and tbh, while many things might have changed behind the curtains, as a user, it feels pretty much the same like back then... but maybe i should have worded my question differently...so i try again...the crashes and bugs you found during that session, do you think that fixing these will provide an obvious difference to the end user? and do you think you can fix these issues in relatively short time?
  21. can we expect some real and noticeable improvement in netcode in future??im happy to take part in such events, but i really hope that this will finally make a difference....
