Server Announcement: -= ACG WW2 Server (EU) =-

terrain mods should be ok, and also the WWII unit mod is no problem...look at this post: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2235974&postcount=11 ..if you run any mods which adjust any files within those directories, then our integrity check will kick you. EDIT: if you are not familiar with your mods and which files they adjust, then one thing you could try is to disable all mods, and try to join...if that is working, then add one mod after the other trying to join each time you have added one.this way you will see which mod prevents you from joining. -

searching for 109K4s stationed in Austria during 44-45
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bf 109 K-4
ok some more reading shows that IIIGruppe of JG27 was definitely placed in austria in 1945 until the very end of the war in Salzburg and some of them also in Saalbach.the whole Gruppe was equipped with K4s during that time... so i think im going to search for JG27skins then belonging to the IIIGruppe. just like: -
i know about that bug.its been there ever since i play dcs and i know it from the p51 when flying online...for me that happened quite regular when i was flying for longer times on the server, that then all of a sudden my tracers became invisble...it also seemed, that not only the tracers but also the bullets themselves disappeared, judging how many rounds i tried to put towards my targets with such little effect...im not too sure about that though. but i know that bug, and i think, it has something to do with SLmod.at least i had that problem only on the dow server up until now, and only when there was slmod used on the server.there was a time where the dow guys stopped using slmod, and then all of a sudden also this bug disappeared for me.when they put it back up, i had that bug again...although i also cannot say 100% whether its really due to slmod. also this bug is not easily reproducable.... but you are not the only one, and ive had a couple of friends suffering from that bug as well.disconnect and reconnect seems to fix it.but sure thats not ideal.

let me guess. that was online freddie?and you have been on the server for some while before that happened?

ok a BIG THANKS to Roadrunner! he lead me to this site....on the first glance already it shows a detailed painting of Weiße 5 where i already found photographs earlier...it shows it in both states, pre-captured with german markings and then with allied overpaint....reading its description, it was captured in germany and transported with the allied markings to salzburg. -
@Maler!

yeah sure, if quoted only that part of the post, it sounds not too optimisitic. but with that i wasnt trying to be dismissive but just pointing out that with the current update policy coupled with NDA(what a lovely word) for us normal customers the fact that ED testers are having edge versions of dcs installed makes zero difference to our current installation....and in the end thats what im interested in. now of course, if the ED testers were allowed to share more information about things like system requirements, or how edge is improving in visual aspects or performance or etc....then there would be some value to it for us. nevertheless i appreciate the fact that its now closer than it ever was and i appreciate every single screenshot and every single snippet of new information. also, i am looking forward to the newsletter on 3rd december, and sure i hope its good news.but if the news is that its delayed and not finished within 2014,then i will not go nuts.we are used to it, and for now EDGE is just not yet existing for us customers. i am getting excited again once we have a release day announcement. just waiting here, enjoying the torturing screenshots, which all look awesome btw.
-
well, but i wasnt saying that i dont have more hope this year.
-
well, looking at those screenshots and not only of the 109, seeing what ED is capable off, i cant imagine that beeing too much of a challenge for them...hey they were able to put that gun in there in the first place. :) but as i said, i have no clue about such things...just hoping it will be made optional in the end

Toggle stick and throttle visibility on/of
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 313_Nevo's topic in DCS Wishlist
with the pilot body there is yet the problem that the animations are missing.it is a nice feature to have but it is not fully functional...meaning, in RL a pilot can move his arms and also feet to glance at certain spots in the pit.you cannot do that within dcs. so there it again makes sense to toggle the pilot off. hey, once we have a "full motion suit" interacting with dcs and the virutal pilot body, i wouldnt care for a toggle switch anymore and leave it set to on...thats something for the wishlist, DCS: SUIT :) -
not that i have a clue, but i imagine that should be a really easy fix?if it is indeed not already removable that is...

Toggle stick and throttle visibility on/of
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 313_Nevo's topic in DCS Wishlist
its a "game" simulation RL and for P51 i dont think you can look around the throttle to really have a look at the altimeter in RL either...but then again, the simple solution is to throttle back a bit and dont go full power all the time, then it is no problem to scan the gauge.if you go full power, i.e. during a dogfight, the altimeter is the least to worry about anyway. -
oh i am not!actually i am very positive and just look forward to EDGE. every day passing does tell me we are closer to it than yesterday. :)
-
^^yes P51's throttle covers quite an important gauge...but even trackir doesnt help in that case :) its just what it is and also a RL pilot has to live with that fact/disadvantage i suppose.

searching for 109K4s stationed in Austria during 44-45
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bf 109 K-4
well, i dont know about that site too much except that it has lots and lots of content... but as i said, asisbiz was by far not the only site refering to KG6 in austria, and also not the only site with these two skins.there are actual several versions made of those two skins on several sites by several persons.how accurate these are i cant say... but in regards of KG(J)6, everything i found states that they were placed in Graz at the end of the war.even a site about the airport itself iirc. some sites though say that the transition from a Kampfgeschwader to Jagdgeschwader could not be finished before the end of the war. Salzburg is the next airfield which definitely had K4s.there are photographs, but all in black and white and not detailed enough to make skins out of them. its a tough search :) -
^^its never too late! everything is subject to change isnt always a bad thing :)

searching for 109K4s stationed in Austria during 44-45
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bf 109 K-4
ah its a lovely little "airfield", and luckily cheap to land there even! -
yeah sure thats what i was saying...still for us non testers this isnt really worth a dime unfortunately.as i said, im really looking forward to the day it is installed on my non-testers machine.thats what counts for me.whether it is this year or next i dont care at this point.i just know it will be a great day.

searching for 109K4s stationed in Austria during 44-45
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bf 109 K-4
yeah sure there are active ones!most if not all are still in use. Graz is even international haha... -
@Nevo yes if you read back a couple of pages you will see that i am also of the opinion that we should be able to toggle off the flare gun...why?because pilots could do so in RL as well...and as you pointed out, it covers important gauges, levers. but stick and throttle dont really cover any gauges and were probably not attached to the pilots suits...or who knows? :)

searching for 109K4s stationed in Austria during 44-45
9.JG27 DavidRed replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in Bf 109 K-4
yes, thats exactly our approach... and yes especially II/JG52 was active as well as III/JG27 in the late days of war in austria...though there were quite many, and most of them stationed only for a few days at certain airfields then moving to the next....most of the squadrons we had a closer look at had K4s....but then again its hard to say which paintscheme was actually used during those narrow time frames in austria...and yeah, its fun and frustrating at the same time to search for such stuff... -
not for us customers though. while they certainly made progress during the past years, its true that we heard "its almost ready,we hope to release it before the end of the year" not the first time... im looking forward to the newsletter on 3rd december though, and whether its delayed again or not, once we, the customers, have it installed, im sure it will be a great day.

^^you are welcome to join the ACG server for your very first take off and landing attempts :) should be fun
