  1. This is from a thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103099 "With version 1.2.3 now available, work is underway on version 1.2.4. The primary focus of this next version will be: 1 - Further improvements to network play and stability 2 - Coincide with the release of DCS: UH-1 Huey 3 - Improvements to air-to-air missile performance 4 - Changes and adjustments to beyond visual range combat systems 5 - Further GUI improvements Moving to 64-bit Operating Systems Only" So the answer is no. It will only be for 64bit
  2. Yeah it was a while ago when I tried, and I read multiple guides. Unfortunately, I couldn't overclock it the slightest bit. And all I had was a multiplier
  3. I don't overclock. I tried overclocking my CPU, even a little bit, from 2.93 Ghz to 3.1 Ghz, and my computer crashed each time. And I have a pretty good fan, a CM Hyper 412S. Maybe it's my motherboard, cause it isn't a overclock motherboard. The only part I was able to overclock successfully was my GPU, but I hardly noticed a performance increase. I will stay at the standard clock.
  4. One of the reasons I am upgrading in the summer is because the new Haswell CPU's. Plus, the 8000 HD series of ATI is coming. I am not saying I will get those, but like you mentioned, the price of previous gens will drop. That's what I am aiming for. I also heard recently that the GTX 700 series is just around the corner. I have considered getting the i7-3770K and the Sapphire 7950 OC 3gb. However, now I am also considering getting Nvidia. I am very interested in getting the GTX 680 now, because I have heard so many positive things about it. I just prefer ATI myself because, from what I've heard (from LinusTechTips) is that multimonitor support is better with ATI GPU's because they've had more experience with their eyefinity. I am almost certain I will get a i7-3770K, but I am still uncertain about what GPU to get. Here's the deal, I do play FSX once in a while, but only for carrier ops in the F/A-18. And now that the F/A-18C by ED is going to be released, I will probably not even use FSX anymore. I am mentioning this because Nvidia has much better support and performance in FSX than ATI. Someone, persuade me! Tell me what GPU you would get in my situation. Thank you!
  5. Ok. Why should I not get a i7 2700K. I heard that one is pretty good as well.
  6. I'm looking to buy a new GPU and CPU. Currently, I have a 6870 and a i7-870. I want to upgrade both, but i'm not sure if I should get Nvidia or ATI for my card, and what CPU to take with that GPU. I have a 3 monitor setup, all 1920x1080. I can play in eyefinity in FSX and DCS, but the smoke etc. really slows it down. Usually I play on one screen, but even on one screen, the smoke slows it down a lot. Any suggestion on what CPU and GPU to upgrade to? PS, I don't have lots of money. I will probably upgrade in the summer, and I will have around the 1000 euros to spend on an upgrade. Thank you.
  7. Currently, I have a static IP. 192.168.0.226. Outside of the scope of the DHCP. The port is open on that IP (but like previously mentioned, port check tools report that it isn't open). The ED support did mention PID, however, they did not tell me how to solve the problem.
  8. I have been trying to figure out this problem ever since I got DCS in December. I noticed that every time I left the actual server list in DCS Multiplayer, and I went back to it, the server list would not refresh itself. Even when using the New Search button. The list would be empty. I need to quit DCS and wait for about 5 - 10 minutes until I can refresh and see the full list again. I tried to figure out what the problem was. I went on 3 different forums, including this one, and submitted a ticket to ED, however, they weren't much of a help. Eventually, I tried to use my iPhone's 3G connection and tether it to my PC, to see if it was my router or my computer. Using my iPhone's connection, the problem did not occur. I reset my router settings and this seemed to fix the problem. I manually added all my security settings (password and MAC Address filtering) and the problem didn't occur. Until I got to Port Forwarding and DMZ. I noticed that if one of these is enabled (even if 10308 is open or my pc is in the DMZ) the problem occurred. I went on a forum again to figure out why this was happening. One person said I needed to set up a static IP address and make sure it was outside of the DHCP scope, so I did. Didn't work either unfortunately. I got the static IP to work, however, when I opened the port 10308 and I would check if it was open with multiple online port checker tools, it would say the port was closed. The server list would still show up, but the same problem would occur where the server list would be empty when leaving and returning back to it. This has really been an annoying problem. I cannot live without DCS, but I cannot live without Port Forwarding either. Why do I have to choose one? Is there any chance I can fix this problem? Thank you!
  9. I got a response on my ticket. This was the reply: "Your description makes sense - it is possible that your router forwards the port to the process directly, especially if it is a software firewall, and when you then switch back to menu and then return to the multiplayer screen, the DCS.exe gets a new PID (process ID). It is possible that the firewall or router then gets confused because it is trying to send everything on that port to the old PID. The solution in this case would be in the firewall or router configuration, but how to do this will depend on the manufacturer of this equipment or software. Most likely this hypothesis can be tested through running without this equipment (for example, if you have a cell phone with internet connection that supports tethering)." I tried the cell phone tethering, and indeed the problem did not occur. I just don't know how to do whatever the support mentioned. The stuff with the PID. Any help? I have a Sitecom router.
  10. Yes, it acts as a router. I have wireless internet in my house whih also uses that router. When I go to my router settings, its the sitecom router.
  11. Oh and I tried to file a ticket to ED, but no one responded. I sent them a ticket on the 5th of April, and they said they would respond within 48 hours. I was patient, even after the 48 hours, but it has been 5 days now. Still no response.
  12. The "New Search" button empties the list pretty much. It isn't a new problem to me. I have had this problem with FSX servers as well. First time starting it in the day would give me a normal looking list. If FSX crashed or I logged out, then logged back in, the server list would be empty. Logging in works. I don't encounter any errors or problems. All DCS.exe's are added to the firewall and checked boxes are under Home/Work and Public. Includes Launcher, updater, update_apply and DCS exe's. Still not success. Port forwarding works, I checked if the port 10308 was open through a website, and it was. When I closed it again, it said it was closed. I have a Sitecom router, I am connected through a ethernet cable to my router which is then connected to my modem. I have a static IP. DMZ is on, but not for my computer only for my brother's xbox, my computer's IP is not in the DMZ because I prefer opening ports. (I am mentioning this because I know Steam doesn't work when DMZ is enabled). uPnP is enabled. We have mac address filtering enabled, plus a wireless password, WPA(TKIP). My anti-virus scanner is Microsoft Security Essentials. That is all. Thanks for your help! (PS. Network speed in DCS is selected to LAN and the sources is put to Internet.)
  13. TZeer sent me a private message, informing me about a squad I could join. So I'm good to go. Thanks for the replies though and especially thanks to TZeer. I am very happy to have finally found a squadron.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if they would do that. I don't think they will create whole new HOTAS however.
  15. I think he was saying that the TM HOTAS Warthog will do, because most of the buttons on it are also on the F/A-18's stick. Same goes for the F-15 of course, especially because the A-10C's right throttle is the same as the throttle in the F-15C.
  16. I have network problems as well. Unfortunately, the DCS support system is not very good. Tried to create a ticket, but never got a response. Posted on the forums, but never got a response either. I have tried the same things as the people above mentioned. Nothing seems to make my connection any better or get the servers back into the list. Btw, this thread is in the wrong section. It should be moved to multiplayer I think.
  17. Like the Skatezilla said, there was no discount of FC3 since it was still in Beta. And to be honest, I would wait for the F/A-18C or F-15C instead.
  18. To be honest, it seems like they have been at it for quite a while. Some people are speculating it might (possibly, this is just speculation) be released in this summer. I think someone in this thread even speculated it might be released in August, which is actually quite early and quick, when comparing it to the amount of time we usually have to wait for PMDG and VRS products to be released. It is quick for most game developers. Thank god they do parallel development. I can't wait either, but it's definitly worth the wait
  19. I don't understand. I use ALT+TAB to go to my web browser and other programs, but I have to quit multiplayer to go to the settings of DCS. I think you misunderstood my problem. Basically, the server list is empty when reloading or refreshing it. It has nothing to do with going to my desktop and back.
  20. I have had this problem ever since I owned DCS: World. I bought the A-10C and FC3 during the winter holiday sale and i bought the P-51D and Blackshark 2 during the Spring sale. Everytime I go to the server list, it looks normal, just a list of servers. However, when I exit or re-enter DCS, by pressing exit and going back to multiplayer, the server list is empty. Sometimes I want to go into my options to change something, and when I come back, the list is empty. It happens everytime. Then I have to close DCS, wait for 5 - 10 minutes, start DCS again and the server list will be there again. What is wrong? Am I the only one with this problem? Is there a way to fix it? I opened port 10308 for when I am hosting a server, but I don't think it uses that port when playing, am I right? Thanks in advance!
  21. I want to upgrade my GPU. Right now i have a 6870 1gb, a i7-870 and 8gb of RAM. Would it be wise to upgrade my GPU or will my CPU bottleneck mu GPU if i do so. I was thinking of getting the 7950 oc from sapphire, with 3gb of mem. I have 3 monitors, all 1920x1080. I only use the three monitor setup with DCS. Any advice?
  22. I recently purchased the A-10C, Flaming Cliffs 3, Blackshark 2 and the P-51D. I just came from FSX since I have been more and more interested in combat simulation lately. I have familiarized myself with the A-10C and the FC3 F-15C quite well now. I was wondering if there is a European squadron that speaks English, that is noob friendly and accepts members under the age of 18. I am currently living in the Netherlands, but am American and am 16 years old. Is there a squadron that would accept me? I have been trying to find a squadron in the database, but most don't have a website anymore or don't accept people under 18.
  23. We are talking about DCS: F/A-18C, therefore VRS and the DCS: F/A-18C are the same, only that VRS is a F/A-18E. The only thing I can agree on is that FSX and DCS are two different sims with different purposes. However, VRS and DCS have the same purpose more or less. VRS wants to create a F/A-18E that is supposed to be as close to reality as possible, which includes weapons. Same goes for the DCS: F/A-18C. Thus, they kind of have the same goal. However, I think DCS will have an advantage and will become a better simulator overall than VRS because it has so many more capabilities. Flight dynamics are more realistic, performance much better, better multiplayer etc. (and not to forget, more realistic combat) Only advantage in VRS would be that you have the world to fly in. We'll see what happens
  24. Just had to share this F/A-18 video. Enjoy!
  25. Yeah, unfortunately, I don't have that much money. I think I'll just attach my joystick to my chair. Thanks for the info
