  1. I know that DCS is by far the best combat sim available, and the F/A-18C by ED and F/A-18E by Coretex Designs will be much more advanced, but I just want to perform carrier ops really badly (in an american fighter jet). My 2nd favorite fighter jet is the F/A-18, and I just cannot wait to fly it. And I will most likely be in uni by the time the F/A-18 for DCS is released, which means I wont have any time for flight simulation at all.
  2. What about the F/A-18E from Coretex Designs?
  3. I am eager to fly a carrier aircraft. I currently own both DCS and FSX, because FSX caters to my love of commercial aviation. I really badly want a very realistic and good looking +well performing carrier aircraft. The F/A-18C by ED or the F/A-18E by Coretex Designs are obviously the most promising ones, but it could take a very long time for these to be released, and I might already be in college, which would mean I won't have any time at all. My question is, should I go for the VRS F/A-18E or is it worth waiting for the F/A-18's for DCS? Thanks in advance!
  4. The DCS Newsletter from August 30th has a attached image of a F/A-18C I believe. There is no mention of any F/A-18 in the whole newsletter, unfortunately, so I'm not sure what this entails.
  5. Yeah I had seen that. It is what led me to this question. Thanks anyways
  6. Yeah that is what I meant I was just not sure what it's called. I would appreciate it a lot to see both vapor on the wings, plus that which you showed in the picture above.
  7. Is there any information whether EDGE will include things like sonic boom effects when breaking the sound barrier and vapor?
  8. Haha :megalol: sounds like great fun. Maybe I can convince my English teacher to let me study that instead of Shakespeare  Thanks for the info
  9. Ah, thank you:) I'm clueless in forums, my bad. Unfortunately for me, this will be during my final year in high school studying for the IB exams, so I won't have time to do any DCS related things anyways. :(
  10. Thanks for the info. Could you please post the link as well? I would like to see it. What I also would like to know is, is the F/A-18C going to be the next module by ED? Because lately Wags has been talking about the Su-27S and F-15C. Or are these the Flaming Cliffs modules he was talking about in the same 21 June 2013 post Anyways, I just want to know if this is still ED next module. Thanks!
  11. Is the F/A-18C the next ED aircraft? So I remember reading the DCS News update from 21 June 2013 mentioning that after the DCS Flaming Cliffs modules were released (A-10A & Su-25) that the next ED Module would be the F/A-18C. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=108764&highlight=F%2FA-18C I haven't heard much information about this yet. Has anyone heard any info about this module? I haven't seen any updates about it, apart from the external model being part of the AI in the current DCS version.
  12. Thanks. So there is no such thing as a DCS engine, like lets say the frostbite engine that includes all the tools etc. , am I right? Everything is guilt outside the actual DCS engine and put in? Thanks
  13. I'm not a developer, I was just wondering, as other developers sometimes release their engine for free, if ED released the DCS engine as well. I can't find anything about it, but I thought I might just ask just cause I'm curious. Cause if it's not, how do you develop aircraft without the engine? Do you use something like 3Ds MAX to develop the models? Thanks in advance!
  14. I don't know if the physics of the DCS engine is good for larger aircraft. I don't know much about the engine but from what I've experience so far it would be a great engine for any type of aircraft. +1 My opinion is YES! I would love to see this sexy beast in DCS at high quality!
  15. Is it more difficult to develop an aircraft in DCS rather than MSFS? I thought it was only taking so long for DCS modules, by ED and 3rd party devs, to be released because almost all of them are extremely high quality, plus all of them have weapons, which MSFS devs don't have to do. A lot of MSFS add-ons aren't as high quality as DCS modules. PMDG and VRS perhaps, but none of the others get it as right as them. And AFAIK, the PMDG 777 has been under development for quite some time and the VRS F/A-18E took quite a while to be released as well. I honestly think it's about the quality of the add-on, and since most 3rd party devs sign a contract with ED saying that they will produce A-10C quality aircraft, which means it will probably take a really long time to develop. At least the DCS 3rd party devs have a active team (ED) to work with and a simulator that is often receiving updates. Thank god for that!
  16. The monitors were all setup and worked great in other games. This fixed it for me. I had a slightly higher resolution so I tweaked a bit and got to 190. Only thing is it takes a while to start up now. When I press fly and after it loads it shows the briefing and the "Fly" button, only the background is all blue for a bit and I can't click fly. Then after waiting a bit I can start flying and there is no lag at all, even on high settings. So I'm not sure what's going on with the blue background, but the FOV is good.
  17. Yeah I did that, it's just that I saw other people talk about editing the view.lua config file and changed the Field of View so it doesn't looked so zoomed in.
  18. Title says it all. I am able to play on 3 monitors but it looks kind of weird. First of all, the view is zoomed in quite far, which doesn't make it look as nice. Secondly, it seems as if the side screens don't align correctly as soon as I look upwards or downwards in the cockpit. I did bezel compensation, and it works, it's just that the side screens twist in a way when I look upwards or downwards. How do I fix this? Thank!
  19. Thanks. I know that the 690 is faster, but it has only 2gb per core. The Titan has 6gb for one core, so its better for high resolution gaming. Thanks though. Plus I don't have a large enough PSU and good enough airflow to keep the 690 or 7990 cool.
  20. Great! Now I feel confident about my choice. Thank you so much and everyone else as well!
  21. So...? GTX Titan a good choice. Let's just say that I want really good performance on multiple monitors, but NO SLI or CROSSFIRE. Is the GTX Titan a good choice. Please anyone? Thanks
  22. I think some of you may have overlooked my previous comment. As some said that SLI and Crossfire won't be so good, I thought maybe the GTX Titan would be a good option. I mean, the Titan is a single core GPU and it has all 6gb dedicated to it, so its good for high res. It is Nvidia so it has advanced PhysX (for Arma III), plus it is Nvidia, so better performance on FSX and DCS. I can't wait till September, though. I would like to buy it this week or the week after. Thank yoU!
  23. i7-3770K, Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz, 800W PSU.
  24. So what about a GTX Titan 6gb. It's a single GPU with 6gb that means I would be able to use all the 6gb, so that would be good for my multi monitor setup right? I'm eager to buy a new GPU because I just got my salary of my summer job and I got birthday money from yesterday. So price is not really an issue unless it goes higher than a 1000 EUROS! not dollars. I can order from Amazon though, so that will save me some money.
