I think you could look at it this way. If they know the release is in July then a lot of the videos coming out now aren't aimed at us - the people that have already pre-ordered. We committed ages ago and we just have to wait for release. They're aimed at the people that haven't pre-ordered - get them interested to sell more copies. Watch them or not, that's our choice. No point in getting annoyed with it....

Well that's what it looks like..... Though I guess if we're being generous it might only be 5-6 weeks.

I suggest everyone immediately stops watching YT and reading these forums, and do something else until the ED newsletter says The Eagle Has Landed.

We don't know how close it is. We're all just speculating.....

Which is hardly odd and unexpected, given that's how pre-release marketing very often works. Give early not-necessarily-complete copies of your product to people that have influence over potential buyers....

Interestingly the F-15 is no longer on the site banner - it's Normandy now.

Well if BalticDragon has officially promised to have the manual out before launch, then feels like that's the next key indicator.

Let's face it, we've no idea how long it will be with the Beta Testers. That they've given it to previewers to make videos on before giving it to the beta testers group makes me think they're pretty confident that they're not going to find anything significant. But who knows

Depends how thorough ED's internal testers were.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion - I just don't see it that way. They opened a pre-order, gave us a discount, and there's been regular updates on progress since from various sources, so they clearly haven't just taken our money and are not doing anything. The only thing they haven't given us is a date. Ok if I was a Steam user I might be a bit miffed at no pre-order discount. But I can see why RB didn't do that, and it's not exactly a massive saving anyway.

Is the issue that they ARE doing that, but they're just not doing it here? I've seen plenty of stuff on twitter, youtube, discord etc. that keeps me updated that they're working on it and it's looking good. I'm therefore fine about how long it's taking. Yes, they should do that here as well - I wonder why they don't?

Devs can never win. Give a date, chances are it'll be missed for some reason and people get upset. Don't give a date, people get upset. Honestly the best thing they could probably do would be no preorder and just drop it one day out of the blue, since clearly many people simply can't cope with waiting for stuff

A version that's good enough for YT previews may well not be good enough for paying customers. That's up to ED and Razbam.... Personally I'll let them decide when they think we should be let loose on it.

I'm the opposite - I wonder if some of the delay is them trying to line up releasing both things at the same time. All the F-15E previews coming out are on Sinai.....

If they're happy for Youtubers to do as detailed a preview as GR did, it must be pretty close.....

I have to hope that if ED themselves are tweeting it's close, then it must indeed be close (i.e. a handful of weeks not months), given they have the final say and are testing it from their PoV.

Do people really believe RB want to drag it out? As soon as they release more people will buy their product. They're not thinking 'how can we waste time and annoy people, and make less money'. It's also not just RB. ED are testing too and I don't believe they'll sign off the release until they are also happy with the level of quality. I'm as excited for it as everyone else. But it's not something to get upset about.
