Your thoughts on this (possible) new rig please
Rangi replied to CPS_Bomber's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I would go with the 7600k and spend the savings on a 1080. So option 2 (better psu and a storage drive) but with 7600k and 1080 gpu. It is very simple to build the pc yourself, I mean very very simple, just watch a you tube video or 2. If not your style then your local computer store should be able to put together the components you want for a small fee (at least thats how it works here in Australia). . -
Next round is on me!

Who is that masked man? 1000 rep power and 76 posts, what a star. Also, thank you for the answer, my SSD can cope with that until "the big merge" and I can go back to just 2 installs.

How long is a piece of string?

I think you have the wrong feeling. I don't see any 3rd party developers doing what you alledge, can you point to any examples to educate me? I see developers developing aircraft that they have have the access to the detailed information for and the interest in developing. Also they have to start somewhere to get a time period / scenario going, the gaps will have to be filled in in time. When it takes a few years to develop an aircraft, it may seem like they don't fit together, but in the long term we will get the gaps filled. Also I don't think we should force devs to develop aircraft they are not interested in just because it will flesh out someone's wishlist. ps. I don't really know if any of this is true, it's just my feelings.....

Good question, I assume he means it works as a blood thinner ie. a drug used to prevent the formation of blood clots by hindering coagulation of the blood. I have not heard if the mechanism of action (or even effectivity) has been proved yet but some studies suggest it may be an antiplatelet rather than an anticoagulant.

2 banner changes in a month, someone has too much time on their hands and should be working on my Jug instead.;) ps. The banner looks great.

I think we might get a Normandy date today. I at least hope for some news more interesting than a discount.

Model Enlargement - Does it do Anything More than the Obvious?
Rangi replied to kronovan's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
ED has not said anything about it as far as I know, it just stopped working a couple of patches ago. Edit :there is a discussion about it in another thread, a very long one, strap yourself in. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=157129 -
It's sad if you have a bicycle and the best spot you can find is McD's.....

Has there ever been or will be CONFIRMED engine modeling?

Model Enlargement - Does it do Anything More than the Obvious?

This feature is not working in the current builds. -
While I agree with you about the confusion, I do think there may be some frustration. Say I was a new player discovering dcs on steam, I give it a go and I fall in love with it and buy a few modules. So I start looking into it more, come and visit these forums and then there is the "aha" moment and I realise that if I want to best support my new love by cutting out the middle man and get access to the latest updates and early access modules I have to either have 2 (or more) installs or write off the money I have already put down. I can see that scenario being a little frustrating. Perhaps ED could look at some sort of system where players looking to migrate from steam could get a one off discount for a small administration fee to come into the fold. I haven't really thought it though so if there is a hole in the idea, let me know. Also with Wags mentioning in one of the Normandy videos a "better copy protection" coming, maybe this is just a temporary situation, if so, I would love to hear how it works.

I like it.

Looks like the threads have been merged and I assume that means the answer to your problem is in the runtimes as mentioned at the start of this thread.

+1 for typhoon and tempest

For question 1 it may help to post your logs to see what is going on. For question 2, no Normandy is only available for 2.1 at the moment.
-
I am not sure my nerves and stomach could take a feature length movie after watching those trailers. It certainly looks like it will be a well produced film.

I hate to think of the technology that will be available when world war eleven starts.......

Thanks for the answer, I hope that eventually we get a period specific ATC system. Can't wait to see these flame details for myself when I "accidentally" over prime my Spitfire engine in Normandy.
-
I totally agree with your realisation that negative thoughts are most damaging to the ego that creates them.
-
I also notice the WW2 radio call, is that the new ATC system or a triggered sound effect?
-
I always buy from ED, I would prefer the (minimum) 30% that steam takes from each sale, goes to ED to continue to create more content and keep dcs world updated.

I am surprised no one has talked about the "better copy protection" Wags mentioned in the Spitfire over Normandy video (if there is a discussion about it in another thread please link it for me). I think an overhaul of the current copy protection would be great, especially if it includes a deactivate all button. Wags also mentioned "better GY" (I think that's what he said). What is "GY"?
