  3. Welcome Dr_Wigglespank, You are in for some fun! Starting when a crazy sale is going on doesn't hurt either. Chuck's guides are also a great help too but i think he only does guides for high fidelity modules. If you have any problems don't hesitate to post on the forum and ask for help. Tons of people will be only too happy to help, it's a great community. Best of luck and happy flying!!! :pilotfly: Here's chucks guides link for you, https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=135765

    DCS

Good luck burt,Hope you get all your gear soon!
  7. It's Fixed,:clap::clap: It turned out to be some files somehow got placed in the main DCS directory and one of them was a lua file that i think was the culprit.I deleted them and accidentally deleted a DCS file so it wouldn't start up. So i did another Repair and it all works again :clap_2::clap_2::clap_2: Thank you very much guy's for the help. I really appreciate it.:thumbup::thumbup:
  8. I did what you said and put folders where they are supposed to be and named them correctly but still no luck. I'm super confused and scared im going to have to learn russian. :( I appreciate your help Rudel thank you.
  9. Heu Rudel, Thank's very much for your help. I did what you asked and renamed the folder Mig-21_CP.bak but it didn't work. Also my Mig-21_CP folder was in the folder called saved games/dcs.openbeta/liveries/MiG-21bis/liveries/Mig-21_CP ,It wasn't in the folder you mentioned.Could that be a Problem perhaps?
  10. Hi guy's and Gals, I downloaded a mod to give the canopy cleaner glass so I could see a bit better. I seem to have well and truly buggered something up.The Cockpit is now in russian and the drop down menu is gone so i cant choose cockpit choices. I uninstalled the mod and tried many different things to get the english back but it just wont do it. I made sure in the gameplay settings i had english and metric set but no luck .I also tried the repair dcs world in the start menu but it still doesn't work, i did that twice!. I Have never repaired DCS before but i thought that when you did a repair you had to save all your settings ,logbook ,joystick bindings etc because when you did a repair it gets rid of all files that are not from original DCS. I then Uninstalled the module then reinstall it ,still didn't work. Anyway obviously i have done something stupid and this is technically not a bug but i was hoping that someone could help me out, Thank You .:helpsmilie::helpsmilie::helpsmilie:
  11. Hi Odin Welcome, Did you go into the Settings,VR and enable handcontrollers in the menu?you can also make it so you can slave the cursor to your helmet so you look at a switch and then bind the mouse buttons left and right to your HOTAS to make it so you don't have to use handcontrollers. This way you dont need to take your hands off the hotas you just look at a switch and do it that way.Anyway i hope this helps you.
  12. Yeah it is very difficult to reach some and there seems to be some i just can't get to at all.
  13. Thanks Alec.
  14. Howdy Fri13, Can you please clear this up I'm a little confused. Please understand I'm not criticising you I just don't understand what you mean cheers. How do click buttons and switches with your hands in cockpit yet keep hands on hotas?
  15. I just went VR for the first time this week.I brought a Rift S.At first i got sick,Very sick.I had to go lay down down for hours and still felt queasy the next day.My first time It was cool to be sitting int the seat of the jet and really feel like i could reach out and touch the controls and switches and believe it or not but i found myself actually trying to move things in the cockpit then giggling like a schoolgirl when i realised i couldn't. I was limited to flying pretty much straight and level at first because any movement like roll or aggressive pitch would instantly make me feel like throwing up. ( A TIP FOR YOU DON'T FLY HELICOPTERS TILL YOU GET OVER ANY SICK FEELING TRUST, ME YOUR WELCOME) Something else to understand is that if you wrote down all your start up lists on a notepad that you have next to you're desk like i do ,they are now useless. You will have to download kneeboard maker and make them again into digital form.(I haven't done this yet so i can't say what they are like in game as i just realise i haven't use the kneeboard in VR yet so i don't know what it looks like.I will have to check that)Any key bindings not on your HOTAS will require you to lift your headset up and use or if you have Pass through mode like rift S you can use that in a pinch not ideal but works Also something to take into consideration is what are your headphones like do they fit over the Headset? if not like mine you have to keep switching back and forward via the sound settings .Switching between using your headset sound and your headphones or speakers whatever you usually use. Sounds trivial but it gets annoying and will catch you out at times. Also for some reason my occulus software doesn't always remember my play area so i have to go through setup again and again also trivial but annoying. I can't say what other headsets are like but the Rift S controllers battery's go flat very quickly. So have some rechargeable batteries On standby.I have also started taking batteries out when I'm not using them so if you don't have rechargeable batteries, that's an extra expense you might have to consider.Another consideration is getting some sort of anti fog treatment for your lenses as they will fog up a lot. Also it takes time to get used to flying in the headset. It felt like learning to fly all over again to me.I would jump in and try do do a very simple circuit that i have done a thousand times and found i would have to go around as i have completely misjudged the landing, especially the height. This sorts itself out after a while. Also you will have to get used to physically moving your position to reach switches in the cockpit and to see behind your Aircraft.I literally have to move in my chair to look down on the side panels in the hornet to flick switches it takes some getting used to that's for sure. Also you will have to choose Do i use the headset controllers in game to flick switches or do i use the mouse?I found using my HOTAS all the time that using the hand controllers just doesn't work for me so i ticked the use mouse setting in game. The headset for a reason I'm yet to discover when you use the mouse will still follow the headset view position. So you have to get use to when you use mouse to keep your head very still. This is very annoying and i hope i find a solution. It took me a few days to get used to the Motion sickness but one day i jumped into game and was doing tight turns and realised hey i don't feel sick. Some people don't get sick at all and some like a squad mate took a full month of feeling awful to get used to it.Your mileage will vary. One of my first reactions was wow this looks like crap because i had just gone from a 32 inch 2k monitor with crystal clear graphics to the Rift S resolution it felt like i had gone back to my first days of 800 x 600 8 bit graphics it was a major downgrade to say the least and so far is my biggest Gripe and reason to go back to monitor. Also say goodbye to high FPS even with a high end system like mine i get a steady 40 with a lot of tweaking and compromise.Spotting things from a distance is just plain harder and your view distance will be turned down also. This is my experience and take from it what you will.I know I've sounded pretty Negative in this review but it's not all gloom and doom as i have am getting used it more and more every day.The positives are there as well. Like doing a carrier takeoff and landing in VR is plainly amazing and will have you giggling like a schoolgirl over and over.Hitting the tanker feels great and flying formation is awesome.Once you get used to the motion sickness flying a helicopter is awesome and in my opinion way easier to do. Getting a headset just for the heli's is reason enough.I fly heli's way more now than i used to.Immersion Is amazing .So there is a few thing's for you to consider.I'n my opinion if you have the disposable income and understand it will take getting used to go for it. Best of luck to you.:pilotfly:
  16. This would be great.
  17. Hi i can't cold start the L39 anymore.I'm in the instant action L39 ZA cold start for Persian Gulf. I enter cold and dark pit.Flick Batt On,Eng On,Turbo On,Engine Button press,Wait for 3 to 6 sec,Put throttle to idle fwd then as engine is spooling up it crashes to desktop.Have tried multiple times and does it at same point every time.I checked my saved games Logs and found this ( file attached) dcs.zip
  18. Hi you can add liveries to your saved games, dcs open beta, liveries, FA-18C_hornet or whatever aircraft you have liveries for. Just keep in mind that you may not have the aircraft folder in there and may have to make one yourself.Just add folder but make sure it's named correctly. Also not to be confusing but sometimes liveries can be put in a different folder. When you download them from the user download site just check to see if they have a read me .Some skins can go into drive you have installed on (c for me),program files,Eagle dynamics,DCS world open beta, core mods,aircraft,FA-18C_hornet(or whatever aircraft),Liveries . Here's a video to help also.:pilotfly:
  19. @Gaff Thank you for that it worked for me also. Thankfully i still had the orignal blackshark 1 disc and box.
  20. My BS2 isn't showing either. I've put a post in the Blackshark bugs section.
  21. This keeps coming up every time i start DCS. I click bind and it closes then when i start game Blackshark 2 is missing. I click on module manager and it says Blackshark 2 is installed but when i click show key it says no key.I f i restart DCS It happens again.I also can't enter key from clipboard When it comes up at game start into module manager.
  22. I didn't see that i will give it a try ty.
  23. I just watched the track and it shows the kneeboard working and you can also hear jester laughing at my for getting a 2 wire. But when i did the mission i sat in the cockpit for quite while and it never came up on kneeboard also jester never opened his mouth.(also jester keep it up pal, you ever hear about a RIO called goose! )
  24. Hi, As it states when i practice my carrier landings and then go to check the kneeboard to see my results it doesn't always rate them. Also it seems to coincide that when it doesn't rate the landing i don't hear jester call out the wire catch from the back seat. I call inbound over ATC and i don't have shut up you little judgy jerk mode on with jester. BTW this is the case 1 practice instant mission that comes with the module. I've included a track file if that helps.Any help would be great thanks.:pilotfly: F14 Trap issue.trk
