  1. All good points, but what I would really like is for George to actively look for threats/targets while just flying a route. On several missions, I have now been shot down because I passed over some APC or some such that I in the pilot seat never saw and George apparently is not looking ahead and searching for potential threats. Or am I missing something that is already there? EDIT: Just saw in a different thread that this is planned for the future. FYI
  2. Can't confirm. Runs super smooth in WQHD on high settings with 4x AA. RYZEN 5 and RTX 3060. Those guys we with 3080s and above must be having another issue. Gesendet von meinem BTV-W09 mit Tapatalk
  3. Thanks Flappie. The DCS Repair didnt do the trick for me. (Had tried that already when I read your post). But either the config.lua deletion or the renaming of the folder did the trick. Works now. Cheers, FS
  4. Can confirm. Same here. Splash screen then nothing.
  5. Dear Baltic_Dragon, First of all, I am massively enjoying your campaign, truely a great piece of work! As stated above, I found something that is likely a bug. In mission 3, I was refueling with TEXACO 55 (on the right basket) with my Wingman also refueling (on the left basket). Once my Wingman has concluded refueling he broke away to the right and crashes right into me. It always takes me a moment (or twelve moments) to catch the basket which results in me still refueling when he is done. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug? Best, FS
  6. Great tips guys. The "don't look at the basket" thing is what did the trick. After what must have been 30 very frustrating tries over the last few months, this immediately did the trick. That feeling when you hear "transfer complete" for the first time. :) Gesendet von meinem BTV-W09 mit Tapatalk
  7. Have to agree with Smashy. Another test run today showed it working fairly normal on both MP and SP. Was able to see and consistently lock targets. Apologies for the confusion. Don't know what the issue was yesterday.
  8. Can confirm. Easy test: Start up the "Fighter Sweep" Mission. Radar is unable to pick up enemy fighters until they are within 20-30miles. The SA6 was already launching at me close to WP3 before I even got any contacts on the radar. Before the patch, one was easily able to pick up the bandits after take off from the carrier. Now I am almost in visual range and still no contact... Was on BlueFlag MP server before and wondered why the F16 have their way with me. F18 radar has serious problems seeing targets and looses track easily. :(
  9. Hi Bignewy, thanks for looking into it. Will try to reproduce later tonight on my end. Will also check for the trk file. Best, FS
  10. Attack radar elevation is no longer controllable after landing and rearming/refueling. Did a sortie on Buddyspike's Modern Syria Server yesterday. As the title says, the radar elevation was stuck and unchangeable after landing and taking off again. Worked fine during the initial sortie and was stuck after taking off again. Sorry no track file. Could anyone check if this is reproducable? Cheers, FS Gesendet von meinem SM-G973F mit Tapatalk
  11. Very good performance (F18C) after the patch BigNewy, great job. Witnessed a marked improvement also on MP server woth 50+ players. Very little lag. No more issues with the DDIs on the Hornet as well. Just flew a night mission and got to say, the lighting system is just amazing now. Cockpit flood lights look great. All in all, seems very solid. 12. No need to apologise. As stated before by others, family always comes first. You guys do an incredible job! Just yesterday I went through the cold start routine of the F14B for the first time since a while ago and was again amazed by the level of detail and love you guys put in there! You don't hear that nearly often enough. Same goes for the ED crew obviously! Keep up the spirits and good work! All the best from locked-down Frankfurt, Germany. 13. Hey guys, All based in Europe? Just checking because of potential time difference... Happy to give you guys a bit of support and just do some flying together. PM me if still interested, anyhow planning a longer session for coming Friday/Saturday... Let me know! Cheers FS Gesendet von meinem SM-G973F mit Tapatalk
  14. I would second that. Saitek had issues with the X55 (I had one that produced a broken cable in the throttle after four years), which partly migrated to the initial X56 (the grey one). In any case, after four years I consider this not terrible performance, as I also used it heavily for DCS and Elite. It would even have been a relatively easy fix, if you have the time and will to do it. :) These issues should however be pretty much mitigated in the new (blue) version of the X56. This is a revision of the model addressing just the above issue. I have that one now for over a year and am very happy with it.
  15. Good question. I also should have been more precise in saying the AIM7 doesn't have an active radar seeker. It does have a passiv seeker however, question is whether that can filter as outlined above, I doubt it.
  16. I agree with the AWG-9 is not a magical tool argument. But AFAIK it remains a fact that Jester is incapable of dynamically adjusting the Elevation of the AWG-9. That makes tracking targets at closer range (<60m) difficult as any altitude differential you have to the target is likely putting it outside of the radar cone. The manual commands for Jester to adjust elevation are however resulting in too big a change in Elevation and make it more or less useless. In the absence of TWS Auto, it would be up to Jester to try and keep the contacts in the radar cone. But he doesn't. So, valid criticism of Jester's capabilities in my opinion. :)
  17. The AIM-7 doesn't have its own seeker head. It's guided all the way by the AWG-9. Hence, it shouldn't loose track as long as your STT lock remains valid.
  18. +1 Was frankly shocked by some of the posts in the other thread yesterday regarding the latest OB. People don't seem to be able to comprehend what is being done here. The level of detail and depth of the systems is straight up breathtaking. I hadn't even dared to hope to ever get something like this fifteen years ago. @ED don't let some individuals (with insane feelings of entitlement) discourage you from continuing this great work! And for the record: I'm as greedy as the next guy for more features. :) Greets from Germany! FS Gesendet von meinem SM-G973F mit Tapatalk
  19. Used the Aim-7 against a M2000 on the Buddyspike (caucasus) server yesterday (latest Open Beta version). Mirage's Fox 1 got me about 3-4 seconds before AIM-7 impact, immediately destroying the hornet. However, AIM-7 kept tracking and splashed Mirage a solid 4-5 seconds after my plane got shot down. Might be that the AIM-7 behaving like a Fox-3 bug is back? Sorry no track-file. Maybe somebody could recreate and check? Cheers, FS
  20. Great, thanks for the Info Naquaii. How about the AWACS? Any chance to link up with that as well? Gesendet von meinem SM-G973F mit Tapatalk
  21. CBU-99 bug Hi guys, this just happened the third time in a row, so decided to report as bug. During the F18 mini-campaign mission #2 (Bombing of BMP-2s) DCS crashes right on bombing the BMP column. Each time when I bank after release of the RET DCS as a whole crashes. I send a crash report on this (about 3 minutes ago). Sorry no track file. :) Best, FS
  22. You do understand that you also play the "open beta" version of an Early Access product? If you stick to the "stable version" you will get exactly what you ask here for. Really do not understand where you are coming from, with this? You know, not a controversy, only a suggestion for more reasonable forum posts
  23. True. Currently, the F14 pilots are all too eager with their AIM54 and launch long distance and tend to launch multiple times. Notching works really well and you can often get them to launch on you multiple times. If you defeat the missiles and manage to close the distance somewhat in the meantime, they are often caught pants down as they launched all Phoenix. Then, you can get an AMRAAM shot with good probability of splash.
  24. The thing does up to Mach 5. You won't outrun that sucker... Also, your RWR only lights up once the missile goes Pitbull (active) as the F14 have TWS already. If you hear the warning the thing has already closed half the distance. Notching really is your only hope. Or hiding behind a mountain to break lock.
  25. Notching, more notching and finally more notching. Throw some chaff in for good measure. This might also help: Edit: Keep in mind that it is an active missile and that it will reacquire if you stop notching. So do not get over excited if you break lock once. Keep doing it. :)
