  1. There is one already on the map (IIRC somewhere at the southern end of the map, i don't remember the name), but it's overgrown with trees and not (yet?) connected to any roads.
  2. Some more info on the history of Army Airfield Finthen: https://usarmygermany.com/Sont.htm?http&&&usarmygermany.com/Units/Army Aviation/USAREUR_8thAvnBn.htm Looks like Chinooks were based there until the late eighties. The pictures show also some hueys and kiowas (earlier models than what we've got in DCS, though).
  3. Oof...that looks rough.
  4. If that picture is not worth posting twice, I don't know what is
  5. Well, there is not much "cheating" needed. Not more than in any other DCS trailer anyway. What do we actually see? A humvee inside a chinook and the ramp opening. It never drives out (or moves at all for that matter). While modeled cargo would certainly be a first for dcs, this can be cobbled together easily by taking the WIP chinook model and importing the existing, raw humvee model from their library. To me it looks more like the usual Trailer-tactic of implying an idea/possibility and cutting to the next shiny thing before the limitations of the actual implementation (or lack thereof) becomes obvious. That being said, I'm certainly excited about the Chinook (and the Logistics Gameplay, whenever it will materialize). Starting a Pre-Sale without any idea of what you are actually buying or at least a rough idea what is currently planned is utterly bizarre, though. Even by Eagle Dynamics Standards. I will probably buy it at some point, but certainly after it is clear what they are actually selling.
  6. I am more curious if they ever will maintain a minimal presence here in the forums, now that a release is imminent. I don't think I have read a single sentence here in the forums that was directly from Orbx, only others like NineLine, BigNewy or regular users sharing tidbits on their behalf. The usual utter radio silence from Ugra in their section of the forum is already weird enough. I'm not sure how I feel about a developer not even having an account on the official forums of the game they are developing for.
  7. When asked about revamping older ED maps to current standards on a recent Mover & Gonky show on YouTube, Wags said they "may do it" and NTTR was the first map he mentioned as being talked about internally. The map-developers are currently busy with Marianas WWII, Iraq and Afghanistan maps, though. So it may be a while until they actually do it. However, no details were given if that may or may not include expansions of the map area or improvements to currently low detail areas of the map.
  8. Also an interesting remark of Wags in that Interview: ED has no plans for a tilt rotor module (like an Osprey), but he heavily implied that a 3rd Party might at some point. ("We are not doing it, but I'll leave it at that.", approx. at 1:32:47 in the video) And I'm pretty sure that regarding the Mig-29 Flight model question Wags was saying that all currently flyable Flaming Cliffs 3-Versions of the Mig-29 are all using basically the same flight model. Nothing was said about the flight model of the upcoming full fidelity Mig-29 (approx. at 1:34:17 in the video)
  9. Wow! Just wow. Kudos to you. Not only for the result (these screenshots do look amazing) but also for putting in the effort researching all this and making the skins not only pretty but also authentic.
  10. You really know how to make compelling Screenshots. Each and every one is a banger! The front turret is coming along nicely.
  11. What a beauty!
  12. At the southern end of the suez-canal there is a group of Helipads in Grid VT38 that are duplicate, slightly offset and intersecting each other: Camera Coordinates: -camera -37.586696 0.040190 102.177882 -cameradir -0.247817 -0.423329 -0.871424
  13. Follow-up: Happy to report this is fixed in 2.8.6.41066: Now there will be no more dispute if the ball was across the line or only across that other line
  14. @winghunter Who is making a "South East Asia" map? Did I miss an announcement?
  15. They look gorgeous. The Dora almost feels like a new plane with these.
