  1. Isn't there a Reliability setting ('Condition') for a/c in the ME? 109Ks could be set to 80%?
  2. The IXe (E wing) could carry 2 x Hispanos and 2 x 50 Cals, a pair each side, as you can see in the video, there are no 2 + 2 red patches covering the Browning .303 gun ports cos they ain't there.
  3. We can't have all our sweets at once mate. It started out as DCS WWII 1944 with, supposedly, a representative a/c of each type that was predominantly operating over Normandy. It went wrong when the 109 and FW190 we were offered - in Kickstarter - were not representative of LW a/c predominantly operating over Normandy. We knew that from the start.Quite a lot more work and testing would be required to change it now. Also I think ED have focussed on the MkIX because they have ready access to a real aircraft and pilots.
  4. Well, for a moment there I though I had stumbled back into the banana forum. And me short on Valium! A lot happened through '44 to mid '45. What we will be having is the Normandy map. Normandy, get it? It's about D-Day and the second half of 1944. Yes I know the 109Ks and 190D-9s are over-represented for the period because that's all we've got and yes, that thinking was a bit skewed considering it would have made more sense to reflect the bulk of LW aircraft numbers given our limited plane set. It's about 2TAF not ADGB. The whole 1944 spectrum can't be covered with what we're getting and at his stage 1945 isn't relevant. Maybe in the future. Meanwhile just roll the damn thing out asap.
  5. I've got enough pixels already! Any optimisation to come? Helipads are ok if I can destroy them down to a low pixel count wreck. :D
  6. In new missions I can go to Senaki-kolkhi and see all wing tanks available. However in my attached mission I get a limited list with a lot of blanks at the top. I can see all tanks at Kobeliti. So, at Senaki when I have set the payload as 120 and 200 gal tanks I only see the pylons. If I try to re-arm with 120 and 200 gal tanks even the pylons disappear. I have tried adding a Warehouse where I can see all tanks but it makes no difference. Can anyone see what is wrong (or I have screwed up)? btw, I have checked for updates and done a repair Korea_Late_51.miz
  7. Just give me a ruddy Spit IX and fly your 109/190 in front of me. Then we'll find out.
  8. Well, I'll step back because I don't use MFCDs like that, they are on my larger instruments monitor and I just realised that MFCDs are declared specially in Monitor Setup so I think you're probably right. My apologies.
  9. OK. I'm still not sure what you are trying to display on the mini screens, presumably the MFCDs, but be aware that if you go (5760+800+800) x 1080 in DCS settings, whatever portion of the view you display on the mini screens will move when you move your head with Trackir. My lower screen is angled down to look at the instruments but it swings round the cockpit when I look left and right giving the feeling that I am 'in' the cockpit even when looking at the lower screen. I think the only way to 'fix' the mini screen view for, say, MFCDs, will be either to not use TrackIR or use Helios. Anyway, good luck.
  10. I'm sure hansanb will answer but if I may throw in a few points as I am running triple screen in surround over one screen below (set up as a 'single' 3 screens in surround plus 1 on the end in Windows). First, if those mini screens are running 'external' displays as in Helios then performance wise you setup is ok because you will only be telling DCS "5760x1080" but if you are picking up parts of the in-game cockpit for your mini displays you may want to consider putting the mini screens on the end in your windows setup because looking at game settings and using Monitor Setup to pick out what goes on which screen....... Declaring to DCS 5760 * (1080+600) = 9,676,800 pixels whereas (5760 + 800) * 1080 = 7,084,800 pixels which is a lot easier on your graphics card. As for one wide screen versus 3 screens, in widescreen you will always get that side stretching because that's just the way the graphics work. In 3 screen you get three square on views but with those 'forward leaning' wings. however I don't notice them due to my closeness to the centre screen. The side screens are in my peripheral vision and really come into play until I turn to look at them. It all feels natural after a short while. For me they are more about Situation Awareness than critically accurate projection.
  11. Yes, I agree. I've heard them many, many times. The video (now removed) wasn't bad but it needs a bit of tweaking. It's just a little too mellow. It lacks a slightly harsh undertone, an almost melodic note among the roar as it goes by and a bit of a rasp as it goes away. btw I used my Medusa headphones.
  12. That's strange. To me the bass sounds a little too rich and mellow - just a bit - and it lacks a slight mixed-in 'organ' tone in the fly past. Also the sharp rolling exhaust reports are missing as it egresses. Actually it reminds me of a heavier engine - the Griffon perhaps?? I guess it depends on what we listen with.
  13. Yes, it was my misunderstanding.
  14. Well, that was confusing. I thought on 1.5 public release there would not be any more 1.53 open betas and 2.0 would be the future alpha/beta test environment. Anyway the 1.53 open beta install had to go, I was running out of SSD space and needed to re-install my P3D/photo scenery. If the release is going to take a long time can we have the beta in 2.0 alpha?
  15. No indication that the F-86 updated today even after Start... Eagle Dynamics....Update DSW but the Speedbrake doesn't seem to work properly any more - where is the toggle?

    Removing 1.2.16

You only need 1.5.3 and 2.0 . What would be the point of keeping 1.2?
  17. Yes I meant 4960 not 5960. There is clearly a screw up or a disconnect between what we think should be happening and what ED thinks should be happening (or what they are willing to work with). ED are looking at a possibly related problem with the squished map in 3 screens and this may have an effect on your problem. It seems that DCS assumes Left/Right/Centre will always be the same resolutions regardless of what we put in the lua file. As you can see the red area of the standard setup is what is spread across the entire 2560 of your modified lua centre screen no matter what you put in the lua. The Left and Right screens are really confused with part left or right plus a strip of 'something' then the right hand half of the centre screen on both side screens ! I suspect that when you put the screens the 'normal' way round and adjusted your desktop resolution you were stuck with a height of the side monitpr pixels (1200) which is what used to happen to me when I ran 1680x1040 + 1920x1080 + 1680x1040, it went to a height of 1040. Not that this matters to you, it just confirms there are problems running 3 screens with different resolutions. Looks like you'll have to run 1screen or save up for two more monitors
  18. The clipped wing "legend" really came from the MkV, already mentioned several times, in a desperate attempt to combat the FW190. I can't remember any performance comparisons or preferences with the clipped/unclipped wings of the MkIX in the multitude of autobiographies I've read, in fact I don't think it gets much more than a passing mention. So, don't get hung up on it or imagine that extremes of performance will save sorry backside when you've got yourself in too deep. Worry more about not putting your neck in a noose in the first place.
  19. Your screen aspects look wrong. Try: (left) aspect = 1200/1600 (centre) aspect = 2560/1600 (right) aspect = 1200/1600 EDIT: Did you select 5960 x 1600 resolution in game setup? And as previous poster said, is that how it appears in Windows Resolution?
  20. Well, there's the obvious - released 1942 along with the MkIX: [ame] [/ame] and no, 'another place' doesn't have sole claim on the title ;) of course if it had been the Mustang: [ame] [/ame]
  21. It is a photograph, I'd dropped my pencil. :music_whistling:
  22. Yes it's difficult especially since 1.5 / 2.0. There is some kind of conflict between the map, the GUI and click points in triple screen.
  23. It's a more general problem than just the F-15C campaign. Even the A-10C Enemy Within is saying 'Need another product' when I already have it. Probably an account lookup problem or something. Standing by......
  24. I would hope that the devs have this on their list of fixes required. Otherwise what was the point of us spending time beta testing and giving feedback! Their were many posts about it and it's still a pain. Any resonse here from the devs?
