  1. You can do 6 monitors the 'in-game' way of they are all the same resolution. If they aren't I think they will have to run at the lowest resolution. Have a look at this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2565701&postcount=1 For six screens you should be able to add BottomLeft and BottomRight and get a full eye-level and an instrument level cockpit around you. That centre instrument view, zoomed as it is, gives my a very useable size of TD scope and with 27" monitors feels 'the real size'. One thing though. You will need a powerful card to run it (I didn't see your specs) because you will be running a total in-game resolution of either ; 5760 x 2160 or 11520 x 1080 depending on how the screens are in Windows setup. (Plus bezel correction if you use it.) My GTX 980 4Gb runs 4 screens at 40-50fps (flying) in 1.5 but in 2.0 (Nevada) it drops to half that although Nevada is still at Alpha. You might think the lower side cockpit views are a waste in which case you could run 4 Screens and use the side screens to export MFDs etc. which would help the fps.
  2. Well, buying a larger SSD isn't a problem but I'd like some measure of what would be sensible. I do have 1.2/1.5/2.0 taking 93Gb of SSD. The key difference between 2.0 an the others is the /Mods/terrain/ folder which is approximately 25Gb larger than on 1.2/1.5. If that is a reflection of the EDGE maps then with Caucuses, Nevada, Hormuz and Normandy I'll need about:- 20Gb base game 4 x 25Gb for maps = 120Gb (before any more maps or aircraft come out). However Nevada may be subject to some major optimisation and could change so I'm hoping one of the devs will jump in here.
  3. My post works with all cockpits once you sort out the resolutions, if they are different. If you have a good sized monitor you get a good sized instrument panel and may not need to overlay the MFDs specially. It depends on how much you want to set the zoom in or out.
  4. With disk space jumping from around 24Gb in 1.2/1.5 to 44Gb in 2.0 (with only the new Nevada map), is there an estimate yet of what space will be required for v2.0+ with both Nevada & Caucuses maps (old map) and eventually v2.0+ with Nevada and the replacement EDGE Caucuses map? Or even the other new maps? It's not an idle question, I'm planning my next SSD upgrade. The new Nevada map appears to have a quite different file structure from Caucuses and is massive. Will other EDGE maps be like this?
  5. EDIT: the following does not remove the cockpit frame from the monitor, if that is what you meant. Yes. Try the attached. NOTE! It assumes you have two screens of the same resolution, side by side in Windows setup (right click on desktop, select screen resolution). If not you will need to change a few things. Start by telling us exactly what you have. Of course you will probably want to physically position the cockpit/HUD monitor above the Instruments monitor. 1Camera_OverInsts.lua
  6. You have posted in the Video Card thread so these posts may be moved elsewhere. However, check your stick calibration in Windows "Devices and Controllers", it may not be calibrated properly. Then also check it under DCS Controls for the aircraft you are flying: select Axis Commands, highlight the Throttle Axis and check Tune Axis to see that the throttle curve works from zero to max.
  7. Just shut it down - worked for me.
  8. Did you fix this witch?
  9. I don't think "the community", in the main, misunderstands and those that do only have themselves to blame. 1.5 and 2.0 are TEST versions but some are thinking DCS has already moved from 1.2 to a new version. It hasn't, yet. Probably some of those 1.5 and 2.0 players aren't testing, just playing. EDIT: oops, just saw mwd2's post.

  11. Not to mention your (well, my) friends who haven't ventured from 1.2 into 1.5 openbeta yet. Can't play on line with them with my 1.5 :( Roll on end December :)

  13. I have those missions too. You may not need JSGME to use those missions, I have the full FC3 package which includes the F-15C and I just ran the installer. In my case it installed them under the \Mods\aircraft\Flaming Cliffs\Missions\EN\Campaigns\ folder and for a standalone F-15C install will probably install them to your \Mods\aircraft\F-15C\Missions\ folder. I have to select them via the Campaigns menu. You can work your way through them but you have two ways to approach it. Either battle through learning from mistakes and re-flying until you learn what the instructor is precisely looking for (it isn't always clear) or start out learning the basics yourself from reading the manual and practising takeoffs, landings, using the ATC etc. before taking on the training. Apart from ground handling there are no basic aircraft management training sessions, you are expected to have completed your 'basic training' but these guys do not provide that. These training missions are more 'advanced' training, beyond 'F-15C familiarisation and basics'. There is also sometimes conflict or misunderstanding between what the ATC tells you and what the 'instructor' tells you. It took me several attempts to get the 'Traffic Pattern' and 'Approach and Landing' precisely correct without getting failed. You have to fly very precisely to get 'passed'. For example the landing is best achieved by joining the traffic pattern first before attempting a landing although the ATC has already given you clearance to land. That is not spelled out by the instructor who presumably believes you already know this. As there is only one training mission with the normal FC3 install (and perhaps the F-15C standalone?) you might find the attached useful. Save them to your \Saved Games\DCS\Missions folder ("My Missions" in the Mission menu). They are just very simple setups that allow you to familiarise yourself with startup, taxi, take off, flying around and landing in a 'safe' environment while you practice what is in the manual (these missions are easy enough to make in the ME if you want to do it yourself). Another is in the air ready for you to practice landing where you simply follow the flight plan, call up ATC and gain ILS for landing. Landing instructions are messaged to you in-flight. There is also one very simple setup for locking up and shooting down some tame targets. When you're comfortable do the training missions where you'll have to be much more precise. 14. Seems more likely and I suspect it won't be until we get the Normandy map either. There's so much work going on with 1.5/2.0 at the moment.
  15. I'm sure they have and there are some crude workarounds for bezel correction and for the GUI in 3 screens but the squished map makes it very difficult to work and appears to be a mis-application of the MonitorSetup Viewports/GUI settings. I doubt it would take much to fix it. I have played with the settings for hours. I can even get the map across all the screens, the key point being it is not distorted, but then the Viewports collapse to the one-third left hand side of each screen with the map in the right hand two thirds (!). There is a mix-up somewhere. On knowing what ED are actually working on or have on their to do list, one thing I am not clear about: some bugs have the word [REPORTED] in it. What does that mean - and what does not having it in the title mean?
  16. It seems we do have to get more specific about entering the resolutions of our individual monitor setups. It does seem that the way in which the parameters are used has been messed up. My post above, pointing here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2565701&postcount=1 offers a solution for Bezel Correction and if you remove the bezel correction elements it might also work for you. Even so we are still left with the squished map which can be infuriating. ED have been very quiet on this whole issue since it was raised in several threads.
  17. It's a Speculation thread. What else would it bring but endless speculation? Still, so far that's over 2,600 posts we've kept off the more serious threads :) To speculate further, was this a cunning plan by ED? <.... mumble mumble.... must get out more.....>
  18. Not sure I would have chosen the Viggen and it's an ugly brute. Still, I'm really looking forward to the F-14 Tomcat, F-4[C/D/U?) Corsair and carrier operations. :)
  19. KirkaFordis Rex Thank you. That is a much more elegant solution than mine and saves chasing pixels. I was using screen.width / 3 but that was clearly the wrong way to go about it. Mine is a little different as I have an upright T monitor setup with a full instrument panel in the lower screen and that forms one of the Viewports. I have edited my OP to suit! Here it is anyway
  20. We don't need a Harrier any more. We sold them, sorry 'gave' them, to the USA in a deeply thought through defence cut back.
  21. Did someone say small? Did someone say Gnat? Oh well.......
  22. Ouch, I misread your post: "It has not been confirmed that we will get the option." as "It has now been confirmed that we will get the option." :(
  23. We're getting both Mr T :)
  24. Well, swedes don't taste too bad........ not that I'm really suggesting... well, you know.... of course the nights can be long and dark.....
  25. :wallbash: I have no idea why it does that. I put my system back to no bezel-correction and had the same result. I tried editing all kinds of daft values in there but nothing works. I am afraid you'll have to go back to '1 Screen' and have the GUI spread across all three screens. Sorry. I started this thread for guys with bezel correction and we seem to have strayed of-track. I am now beginning to think the 3 screen thing is so porked that even my ideas may not work for someone else with bezel correction. My solution was a bit bizarre.. Sorry Guy, best of luck.
