  1. Right. Do the Su-27 have any tricks up their sleve that I might not know about? I've briefly tried the IRST-mode, and got shot down from other players using it on the 51st server :D
  2. Ah, that makes sense! I'll try to apply this. Does shooting a missile in TWS mode on the Su-27 have the same effect? (No missile warning?)
  3. I see. I always thought the AIM-120 used the F-15Cs radar until it were close enough to track with its own radar (Pitbull?) But wouldn't the AIM-120s radar give me a warning itself anyway?
  4. I set up a few 1 vs 1 scenarios against an AI. When playing as a F-15C vs a Su-27 everything went as expected, but when I switched to playing the Su-27, I rarely ever got missile warnings from the enemy F-15C. Is this working as intended? I studied the track-files in TacView, and indeed the enemy was firing missiles at me. Usually didn't get any warnings at all. Sometimes I briefly got a launch warning, but it was usually from AIM-120B/Cs that was defeated and passed me. Can anyone enlighten me on this? I also have another question. Sometimes I feel that the R-37ER lose track, even if I always got my radar locked on the enemy. Am I missing something here? Sometimes they even lose track shortly after being fired. They turn, and suddenly they just fly straight ahead until they run out of energy.
  5. For a UK keyboard, I believe it would be these keys: For a Swedish keyboard, it's Left CTRL + Ä
  6. You're right. Mixed up the numbers.
  7. I'd put in another vote for the MK-81s. I have no idea if they're better or more useful thank the Mk-82 AIR, but they sure look cooler!
  8. When you're in Air to Air Master Mode, press DMS right or left to cycle the different preset funnels. You'll have the growling Sidewinder selected along with your gun funnel.
  9. Why model AFM when you can model photosynthesis instead?
  10. Every time this thread has a new post I get my hopes up for new eye candy! :D Even though I know this module won't be out for a good while, I', still as excited about it as if it were to be released tomorrow.
  11. I can imagine it: Pilot 1: "Last target destoyed. Mission Accomplished. We are RTB." Pilot 2: "...Hey, you know. Vegas ain't too far away from here."
  12. +1 The server browser need an overhaul.
  13. I got DCS on a SSD. The loading times are pretty good compared to what they used to be on my HDD.
  14. The autopilot is engaged when you hear the "bip" sound, yes. Some autopilot modes require certain conditions before it can activate. For example, ALT HOLD, requires you to be almost level. It allows for a slight bank so you can form an orbit pattern. I think the PATH HOLD requires you to have close to no bank at all. You can have a climbing or diving motion though. The ALT/HEADING HOLD requires you to be level in both pitch and bank.
  15. See that 'ALT ALERT' button under the MK and ENTER buttons on the UFC? Press it, then punch in a low numer "0" or "10" or something, then press the ALT ALERT button again. It will change the alert height to the value you entered, and betty will go quite. At least last time I tried, which was a while ago come to think of it. Don't know about the TM Warthog related aspect of the question though.
  16. If you're going down, you might as well do it with style! 8)
  17. I'd get A-10C first. It's a beast. All the other modules are good as well of course. Priority wise, it really comes down to what you like to do in the air though.
  18. ALT + C switches between mouse look and mouse cursor. As said above, it is only useful in the cockpits that are clickable.
  19. To change the text on the plane would probably involve texture editing. Only you would be able to see the changes since only you would have that specific texture file on your computer. A feature to somehow project your callsign onto the plane would be a nice touch, although it would probably be placed #1574 on ED's To-Do list right now though.
  20. Grab each others wing pylons, close your cockpits, take a deep turbine spool up, and say "I disagree, but I respect your opinion". ;)
  21. I like your idea. Just wanted to express my support :)
  22. Nice! I'm going to pass these along to my beginner-level friends! ...Am going to take a look at them myself as well...
  23. I don't know if it's been talked about before, but would the countermeassures dump feature on the A-10C be a reliable way of decoying a missile more effectively than just dumping flares like you noramlly would? I'm mostly wondering considering the speed of which the flares and chaffs are dumped when the switch is activated.
  24. Nice guide! :D Are you sure you need to press "P" three times to open the landing chute? Isn't it just once?
