03 and 07 May 2013 Updates
EchoMasterMind replied to element1108's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I understand the decision. I would like to see these modules available at a lower price to those who bought FC3, but I won't blaim anyone if that won't be the case. It will be great to eventually see these birds as fully DCS products in the future, even if I have to wait for it. But as we all know; the one who waits for something good, never waits for too long… -
That's why you got to wear your seat belts. If the Huey has any, that is. Anyway, that sounds like a pretty cool experience :D

Some pretty good advice here :) The little online combat I've had with FC3 often seems to end with players being suicidal with the "As long as I get a kill, it doesn't matter if I get shot down a second later" mindset as they fire all their missiles while almost ignoring evading the ones I fired at them. That aside, I've had some pretty adrenaline filled close range fights in the mountains. It's pretty exciting playing hide and seek with heat seeking weapons :megalol: Are there any good video tutorials on how to fight properly in flaming cliffs 3? And to add another question: Is the F-15C vs SU-27 a "fair fight"? I've always thought that the F-15C has an advantage because of the active radar guided missiles they have, which the Sukhoi doesn't. I'm pretty sure that this is just me being a noob though. Feel free to enlighten me :D

Nostalgia for the Old Flanker Heads...
EchoMasterMind replied to Shepski's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
My box looks slightly different from the images posted above, but I guess the content is the same. It's a thing of beauty :D -
2 years later, I'll add my +1 to this thread. It would be really immersive and neat to have this effect. Also, it would give the windshield wipers on the Shark/Huey a purpose :)
-
One can say that the purpose of the server is successful! This just happened: I've never seen so many SU-27 in the air at the same time before :D
-
 Haha, hilarious!

I tried refueling with the A-10C for the first time since 1.2.4. Has it become easier? I was barely able to refuel for longer than 5~ seconds before breaking contact a week ago, now I refueled everything in one go. It felt like I could manouver a little more without breaking the contact. Anyone know anything about this? Maybe I just became a better pilot during the past week  Also, I don't know if it's a bug, but when my tank was full, the tanker didn't say "Transfer complete" and just wanted me to stay connected. Someone more refueling-experienced should check it out.

Ejected pilots now visible in MP! Thank you ED!

I'd love a neat animation of you climbing the ladder and getting comfy in the seat before starting the plane/helicopter  -
Nostalgia for the Old Flanker Heads...
EchoMasterMind replied to Shepski's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
I still have the SU-27 FLANKER (I guess it's 1.0?) box here on my desk. Played that day out and day in when I was young :D -

Interesting. I would've prefered the F-18C first, but I can live with it. Wouldn't be sure which one to learn first. I've always had a crush on the SU-27, but I like american avionics more. Tough decision  -
I see your points :)

Would it be possible to sometimes mix up the map with a night/evening version and a stormy/rainy version for a few hours per day or something? Would be cool with some diversity. Also, formation flying with shiny position lights on ;) Landing on the carriers with the huey during a thunderstorm? Just throwing ideas out there :)

That person is more than welcome to be my copilot when multiseat comes to the Huey, so that I can take all of the credits while predending to do all the work!

Ah, missed your post. Good to know the reason behind it!

That was fun! :D Virtual Aerobatics is a great server. It's where I spend most of my online DCS-time :)
-
I had the same problem with F-15C, SU-27 and UH-1H >only< when playing on the Virtual Aerobatics server a few days ago. It magically disappeared yesterday though. Now everything is fine.

Sounds like a good idea! On another note: I think the encyclopedia is a little crammed in size (it covers about 40% of my screen size). Why not copy and use the shiny new module manager interface for the encyclopedia as well? :)

I set up a similar scenario. Took me 6 attempts before I got a non-explosive landing :D Are pilots covered by explosive life insurance?

Great improvements on DCS World

Pieces before landing: 1 Pieces after landing: 1 Good job! :D

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
EchoMasterMind replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
+100 The hotswap idea is fantastic! It would totally eliminate the "I'm stuck in the backseat for an hour" feeling for those who would grow bored (I wouldn't mind being the WSO for an entire mission though ;) ) Oh man, oh man! Can't wait for the F-15E! -
Flying the Shark vs Flyign the Huey - First Impressions
EchoMasterMind replied to Shein's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
I tried flying the KA-50 again today, for the first time after flying the HUEY. The Shark almost feels like a breeze now. I even turned off the autopilot in it and flew like that instead. -
Belsimtek should be proud of themselves (They probably are :D). The Huey module is fantastic! Good job!

I like how the other pilot sometimes turn his head towards you with that "You don't have any idea about what you're doing, do you?" face :D
