  1. Hi all, When flying with the rift the image from one eye is displayed on the computer monitor (pre warp). I have managed to capture it with OBS but due to its size it can be difficult to watch. Any tips on increasing the size without loosing too much quality? Preferably with free software! Here is a video I captured yesterday. This is how it appears on my monitor. I have already found the setting to capture 60fps instead of 30 so that can be ignored.

  4. Don't confuse sli and VRsli. They are very different things. VRsli is part of a package of measures being introduced by the big two card manufacturers. Google gameworksVR and liquidVR if you want to know more.

  7. I had a radio mod in 1.2 that moved the menu to the middle of the screen and you could also increase the size of the txt. I'll see can I find a link.
  8. I'm interested to see what you come up with. I did notice that turning off civil traffic is not actually removing the traffic. I'm sure that is hurting frames for me. I'm only intersted in low to medium level Helicopter flying in DCS so I'm going to notice lower settings more than some of the high fixed wing flyers.
  9. I think in the long run we will require GameworksVR and LiquidVR features to be implemented by Eagle Dynamics. It's hard to see how any current generation card will run at 90fps/eye for vive or rift without the help of a second card.
  10. I have only a 780 OC. I manage 75fps in the desert but I drop to 40's -50's in Vegas. I just won a 980Ti on e-bay so hopefully I can get to 75FPS when it arrives. EDIT: Even on minimum settings it looks fantastic in the DK2
  11. As it stands now Sli will be of no benefit for the rift with DCS. Just so you know. Perhaps you want it for other games.
  12. Thanks. I've been told elsewhere that the gameworksVR and liquidVR APIs are not implemented in DCS. I got no indication that they will be in the near future. Your experience confirms that. It looks like a good single card will be the way to go.
  13. Can anyone explain the discrepancy? Same settings, same load on GPU and CPU but once I have a large airfield or a lot of buildings in sight my FPS tanks. This is on minimum settings with a GTX780 and 4770k with 8gig of ram. Windows7 64bit and latest Nvidia drivers. Edit: I know we are in beta and if this is an optimization issue then so be it. I'm just trying to establish if it is anything on my end that I can fix.
  14. Is there nobody here with two nvidia graphics cards who could answer this?
  15. Does anyone know if the two new Nvidia APIs (Gameworks VR and Designworks VR) have been implemented in 1.5? I'm currently on minimum settings in DCS with my msi GTX780OC card to maintain 75fps. Seeing buildings pop out of the ground in front of me is annoying but not sickness inducing like too low a frame rate. I will be upgrading the graphics card next year but with the 50% improvement that VRsli brings I'm considering a second 780 purchase now instead. An upgrade next year would mean waiting for Pascal and buying a single card only due to financial constraints. If I could spend less than half as much now and see a 50% improvement it might be a better option. Anyone with a sli configuration able to say if VRsli is working?
  16. Placed my order for a KW908 with Andre today. I also ordered an activation key to play around with the software on my buttkicker gamer 2. I had the activation key within minutes of ordering and great communication on my Jetseat order. Fantastic service from Andre as others have reported. Initial impressions of the software are very good. I will be doing some tweaking of gains to fit my cockpit and buttkicker placement as the overall balance is a little off for me. I'm getting little to no rotor/engine vibrations in the Huey for example. Still it is only a temporary measure until the Jetseat arrives. All I need now is a quick release of the gazelle and for it to be the next module to be supported. Hint hint Andre ;-) ha.
  17. Q: was the model developed with the Oculus Rift in mind and how does it look in the rift? Has it been tested? Q: will the model be able to output forces on the airframe for use with motion platforms. The Huey for example features a vibration and buffeting when transitioning ETL which is only graphical and can not be output to motion cockpits.
  18. Thanks Wags. My experience with judder now makes complete sense. When I move out of range of the positional camera orientation tracking was silky smooth and judder free. I reported this earlier. Hopefully further timewarp optimization will yield a big benefit.

  20. All gauges are more readable than before. The hud is legible if you lean in a bit or can be made to show larger characters with a mod if needed. As for zoom being "fixed" - No and in my view it shouldn't be. What's the point of going to all the trouble of direct mode and higher FPS to reduce latency and sim sickness only to ruin it and make everybody nauseous with a zoom button! 1.5 uses .7 and Frontier Have said they are 100% committed to supporting the rift in elite dangerous.
  21. Mine was doing the same after the update. Restarted the PC and got in first time. I am still having occasional crashes on load screen but not as bad as without running in vista compatibility mode. Whatever is causing the dk2 crashes it is still present after hot fix 2.
  22. I'm running a 780OC and have 8gb system ram. Resource monitor never goes far above 4gig. Is that normal? I was going to upgrade to 16 but it doesn't seem to be utilized in 1.5.
  23. Really want the doorless option for sling loads. I'm using the rift and currently opening the door to lean out and line up on a load. Doorless and associated changes to flight model and speed would be welcome.
  24. I don't think it is using timewarp vicx. The judder would not be so bad below 150 frames if it was. I kinda suspect it may be using super sampling though. The image clarity has improved so much since 1.2 it looks higher resolution.
