    It doesn't work like this, it's a company that is selling a product, you can't deal with your customers (the ones that are paying your salary, that are basically your employer) like strangers that should blindly follow you, neither it would work the naive sentences like: "if you don't like this, don't buy it...", whoever comes with this idea of "early product" doesn't know anything about the gaming industry. Instead you must communicate with your customers, and you must communicate properly, and if something doesn't go as planned (it happens!) it's your solely your mistake (because you didn't carefully planned your work) and you post your excuses, with the details of what happened and you'll accept all the critics from your customers. This is how the game industry works, and this is what you do if you want to have success in this world (they didn't started with this job yesterday, don't think they are a bunch of noobs or a alone developer launching its 1 man game on steam EA). Said this, I will happily wait another week (I mean.. 7 days.. it's just 7 days, wtf), but those ppl blabbing with "it's early access.." .. "have patience..." "if you don't like don't buy it.." ...doesn't know the basics of this world.

Hi, I seen the thread about the update (that is now closed), however I didn't understood the last sentence from Wags, does he means that there won't be any update or that there would be a new update before the end of the month or what? Please no flame... I'm only interested to know what this mean: "Correct. We have stated for sometime that JHMCS, FPAS, Maverick, and updated AA radar are slated for the end fo this month. Nothing has changed." So I can check the updates next week.. or next month. Thanks.
  5. Multiple: how many bombs to drop together. Quantity: how many bombs to drop in total. If you set QTY: 10 MULT: 1, it will drop each by each bomb, following the interval set, up to a total of 10; if you set QTY: 10 MULT: 2, it will drop 2 bombs together up to 10 bombs in total (5 launches). If you set a not matching correspondence, in example MULT: 2 QTY: 1 .. it should match the total and drop only one bomb. If you set QTY: 5 MULT: 3 it will drop first 3 bombs and then 2. If I'm not wrong, the QTY takes always the precedence, and the computer doesn't return any "error".
  6. I can confirm now that is server dependent, but I yet to figure what setting is affecting the performance. Vitormouraa above said it could be related to the air temperature in the server... so that's another thing to check, coz I cannot replicate it yet. On my own server it's working fine, same procedures, same payload, everything goes smooth... on these "random" servers (we was picking random servers, so I cannot be specific... but next time i'll write down the names) we (both with the F18) were having the same issue, like I reported in the first post, it's not just on the ground, when/if you manage to take off, you can barely climb, it's like the engines were lack of power, despite the full throttle and afterburners. What settings you can put on the server to affect the flying model or the engine power? Air temperature..? Air density..? Anything else?
  7. Yes, we were in two and the AB were on by "visual" (F2 external view) and yes I know the nozzle indicators below the left MFD. However I'm now convinced that it's a problem with some servers.. however how a server setting can influence the performances is a mystery, even by setting a strong wing it's impossible to replicate the same behavior.
  8. I'm gonna try this (the "+" added to the throttle). I have seen the AB detent option but I didn't figure what's about? May you be more specific? The HOTAS I'm using it's the TM warthhog. However I did some other tests on local instances and it's not bad as those online servers I tested, so it may be related to a server settings (wind? restrictions to the f18? ..).
  9. Thank you for the help. Do they engage at 100% thrust (I'm using a hotas) or I have to setup a different command? There's something I can check that would make me sure that I'm full thrust + AB? (i see rpm 99/100..).
  10. I don't know the (real) F18 so it could be an expected behavior, but I want to be sure I'm not doing anything wrong. Is it expected that the F18 has a such low thrust? I mean you can barely takeoff with mid-payload? If compared in example with the other DCS fighters, like the F15 or even the Mirage it's like flying with half engine. Is this normal or i'm doing something wrong? (except the obvious like.. did u checked your flaps, airbrakes.. :) ). Thank you.

I have a 4.6ghz 6cores CPU and a 980Ti OC, and I can't even maintain 45fps in VR in multiplayer (I have experienced 20 fps in certain circumstances!)... so you see ghosting while playing (unplayable). I don't want 90fps.. but the hell, at least 45 fps! ...at the moment you can't even constant 45fps, neither with a 1080 (sometime it drops to 30 fps in multiplayer..).

I'm trying to say it by weeks already.. no matter what GPU and CPU you have, nor you will never have 90 fps in VR on a crowded multiplayer server, but you will never have solid 45fps either = you will experience severe ghosting in many circumstances because you will be in the lower 45fps and the reprojection will stop working. Who's claiming "rock solid" fps, is playing in single player or on empty (few players or basic campaign with just few objects) multiplayer server. If you try to ask those people to provide a video where they have solid 90fps while playing on a server like the 104th (one of the most crowded servers) they will just disappear. :) At the moment the performance in VR (especially in multiplayer) is very poor and I don't know what's being done or if anything can be done at all with the current engine. It's an unfortunate situation, because in VR the game is very cool.. until everything turns in a stutters festival. :(
  13. Yes, people are confused by the statement of "solid 90fps", when those 90fps are only obtained for some moments in single player at specific stationary points with no much objects rendered. In the moment you land in multiplayer on a crowded server (those server with 25 players or more and complex campaigns), your fps will goes from 90fps to sub 45fps and the crazy ghosting will begins... no matter if you own one, two or three 1080's. There could be people playing their own single player missions, doing 90 fps... but all the other people out there who are enjoying the fun of playing against other humans instead of the stupid AI, will only dream those numbers.. so saying: "I do 90fps no problem.." is an half-truth.
  14. No need to LOL.. install 1.5.3 or wait for the 1.5.4 to hit the stable and do your test on the 104th. I said the 104th, because I know their missions and how they hit the fps... so I can compare your result. Doing a test on your own mp test (that could be much mure lighter than the 104th contents) wouldn't help much. There's no way you can do constant 90fps in VR on that (or similar) server, nor by owning ten 1080 and a 8ghz CPU... because of the engine limitation, nor because you have a "poor" system, in fact there's no system on this planet that could do it. :)
  15. That's not exact, and you can do test it yourself. A 980Ti or a 1080 is barely used considering its fully potential (and it's not just because of the CPU bottleneck, but because of the bad engine optimization), when you pump the resolution or the AA up, you expect to have a better result at a zero-cost (to use your words), because you imagine that it will load only your GPU, but this isn't going to happen: despite the board having a lot of unused juice, the fps will tank... even by having a 4.6ghz 6core CPU (like me), and the GPU will remain unused by its 40%. DCS need a heavy optimization, it's not up to the modern "standards"... I expected that with EDGE they would have changed everything, but it didn't happened, or it's just a matter of (very bad) optimization... let's hope for the future.

You will not ... you'll drop below 45 fps and you'll have ghosting... even with two 1080 in SLI and a 5ghz CPU. :) If you aren't convinced... please you post a video of 10 minutes in a MP server (in example on the 104th), from when you start in the hangar to when you are in the air where you do 99% of the times 90 fps. Thanks. PS: yes you can have 90fps in single player.. you can have it even with a 980.. until zillions objects are rendered and your whole machine will put to rest. ;)
  17. You can't do (always) >90fps .. neither with TWO 1080.. :) ...it's not because of your specs, but because of the bad optimized engine. There's nothing you can do.. the devs must fix it.

It's the super-sampling and it's not new.. and it's the most resource intensive antialising method available, and when we're struggling already with the performance to obtain some solid 90fps, decreasing it even more isn't that smart. Increasing slightly the readability but doubling the ghosting is an advantage? Nope it's not. It still have a limited usage in the single player mission with no much objects, where you can have high enough fps already to not pay the price of this "feature".
  19. Don't be surprised when you'll find that it won't be enough.. especially in multiplayer (doing 25 fps, in certain circumstances, with all the sets to low with a OC'ed 1080 is pretty frustrating). Unfortunately DCS is not optimized for VR... let's hope in the future. ;)
  20. When I talked about the radar (losing) lock issues, they said that the radar is working as expected and there's no patch coming. Can we have a official clarification of what's is being worked on?
  21. It's due to no frames updates (stuck game), in this circumstance the SteamVR playground will popup instead of the freeze frame. It happen when the frame rate is very poor and when the game is stuck doing something (in example while loading the menus, etc.). There's nothing you can do .. it's a game issue.

  24. I would normally agree, but considering what's happening and the damage FB is doing to this new users experience, it's worth it IMO. Remaining in topic of course, because after all we're talking about VR, not about potatoes. This is not "politic" btw, this is a serious concrete issue that should be handled today by using any channel in our power, or it will be too late.

They are designed to be placed in front, look at the E3 setups: with all those games demoed, you will lose the tracking if you try to turn 180° ... and in fact all those games are "facing front" experiences. With the rift you can move in a whole room, no matter of your position. Oculus come out with a inferior product (even inferior than the OSVR), and they started to use the money to buy the developers out there (ALL of them have been reached by Oculus, proposing to remove the VIVE support to offer a timed exclusive for the Rift). How do you call this? They have also closed their platform (Oculus Home) to the other HMD's, so if you own a VIVE or a OSVR you cannot access to the games purchased there. Imagine Valve doing the same: how you would react if they will make the Rift not working with all the Steam titles? Will you be happy? I guess not... So yes, Oculus, and FB in general is the cancer of the VR, and I hope they will fail.. since we don't need another console war and a bunch of exclusives, it will only bad for all of us.. risking to be forced to purchase TWO headsets (that are expensive as hell..) to play all the available games.
