    MiG-21 with Aim-9

Only the R-13M isn't supposed to look like the Aim-9B, but like this:
  2. +1 That would be great :)
  3. Is this guy for real?
  4. The F-86 was a day earlier than we expected it here in Europe as well ;).
  5. The last newsletter listed among the features of DCS 2.0:
  6. You can fold mirrors in the Mi-8? Wow, I never noticed that, I'll have to try it out! The "black circle" you see when you just turn them off always irritated me, and I could use the extra fps.
  7. Propagation of radio waves in the air differs greatly with wavelength, weather, time of day and a ton of other factors. So if a radar will detect clouds or precipitation is not a simple yes no question. For example, weather radars are designed specifically to see rain, hail and snow.
  8. Currently there's no way to do it (without modding the game at least). You could try turning off the mirrors (you can make them off by default in the options or you can toggle them with "M" in the game). That'll buy you a few frames.
  9. I think the Syrian MiG-21 that landed a hit on an Israeli F-15 with an R-60 missile was a bis. At any rate, the Syrians used the bis variant in the 1982 war. Though F-15 vs MiG-21 is hardly a fair match up.
  10. Does the CC have a laser rangefinder?
  11. Sorry but I have to... on which part of the desert do you want to plant both of those carriers precisely?
  12. The Mi-8 is still in beta.
  13. Can't wait :). Great job, guys :).
  14. The sole ASM ground attack aircraft is used by only 1 country in the world, subsonic, unable to employ ARMs and ASMs and doesn't fit into any scenario set before 2006. If that makes the ground attack category well represented, I say the fighter category is at least as well represented by the current 3 ASM fighters and the big bunch of upcoming ones. And who says the modern battlefield is any more interesting/important than the Cold War one? ;)
  15. Ground-attack: A-10A, A-10C, Su-25, Su-25T Fighter: F-15C, F-86F, MiG-29, Su-27, Su-33, P-51D, Fw-190D-9 That's almost twice as many fighters as attack aircraft released already and the next couple of planes will be either fighters or trainers.
  16. Great idea :)
  17. Thanks Cobra :).
  18. Comment?
  19. It's not explicitly said in the newsletter. In the same way the Normandy map is supposed to support the WW2 aircraft collection, yet it's released separately. It would seem logical to me to release whichever comes first - as the map can do perfectly well without the aircraft and vice versa ;). But of course you might know more ;).
  20. The mysterious new map doesn't have to be released at the same time the F-18C is. That's another hole in the theory ;).
  21. I also can't say I notice it... does using TIR influence this somehow?
  22. The IAS problem, as KLR Rico said, looks like pitot icing. As for the aircraft behavior after you opened the speedbrake, maybe you entered a pitch-up? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pitch-up
  23. I don't know where you got that idea? The F-15C has PFM.
  24. Gun camera
  25. Hi, On our Polish forum we've been researching the use of those two missiles on the MiG-21 and pretty much all sources we found suggest that only aircraft with RP-21 family radars could employ them. The RP-21 and RP-22 despite the similar names are very different designs - the first uses conical scanning, while the second is a monopulse radar. This leads to the first radar being compatible only with the older Kh-66 and RS-2US missiles, and the second with the newer R-3R. Since all three missiles are available in your module, I'm guessing you have some sources that prove this is not the case? Could you possibly provide them? Thanks in advance!
