  1. Is it possible to fix-mod HUDs of 3D cockpits for FC3? Such as Su-27, F-15, Su-25?
  2. I did that some time ago, results are quite good but not "consumer grade" good, also it requires for quite a hectic setup. Here are some of my experiments I did back in 2011:
  3. Rift Dev Kit 1 - tracks only 3DOF rotations with inertial sensors (Accelerometer, Gyro, Magnetometer) But latest prototype they were demoing on public: Crystal Cove - does optical 6DOF tracking, they put IR LEDs on the front of the helmet and track them with external IR camera, like TrackIR.
  4. I hope this hype is for good :)
  5. These are awesome news Wags! Thanks for sharing, thanks to all the team for efforts!
  7. Cool, I also use Noctua F12 fans with my H100i :)
  8. Just built my new rig. Still waiting for my graphic card and SSD. I opted for Corsair H100i, for CPU cooling, my first water-cooler actually, and I must say I'm very impressed. Initial impressions are very positive. Having about 23-24 degrees Celsius in my apartment, when iddle CPU (i4770k, stock clocks) heats up to 27-30 :) For sure I need to check it under load but that's already impressive!
  9. Wow, if this is true I would order some, for Warthog with throttle, for Cougar, for MFCDs and TrackIr would be nice too
  10. Nothing to worry about? Are you serious? If money and greed involved, you never know.
  11. Eh, as usual, some great models are just hidden at somebodies closet. This is sad as well, as latest news on 21. But yes, model looks awesome, too bad nobody can fly it.
  12. This is very sad day. I cannot imagine what could be so messed up so badly to make these kind of statements. I hope team will find resolution, finish and publish the project. Trust me there are many many people who live last two years with hope for this project. There is even small group of people in Kiev who make MiG-21 trainer cockpits to teach small kids how to be a pilot, with real MiG-21 test pilot being a teacher, so far they use some FSX models as a software, but whole their group had HUGE hopes for DCS MiG-21. You cannot imagine how this project is needed. Mnemonic out.
  13. DCS is open for any company to do any addon, including maps. But I would guess it is also much harder to do than FSX or P3D, as buildings need to be destroyable, bridges collapsible, network of roads need to be functional for AI, trains need to run on schedule, all the map should look differently in 4 different seasons and so on. Plus DCS player base is so far smaller than FSX.
  14. Please guys stop reposting crappy articles. Just look: Or this pearl of frustration, insead of (it was 3DOF, now 6DOF): Bullsh*t fest, clearly author of the article have no clue what he is writing about, and didn't made minimum homework before posting it. Check better this interview instead, many question answered: I'm sure it will be great HMD, this low persistence mode sounds very interesting, however I have my concerns of how it turn out in terms of flicker. As side comment - Oculus developers don't know if they will use optical tracking in the end, and they are not sure about panel - as said "at least full HD or higher".
  15. Why would you imagine that ED does optimizations for specific brand at all? In general, it was reported on forums that DCS runs very bad even on R290, probably because it is still DirectX9 and AMD don't optimize drivers for it already, so I'm afraid that's life we are living in.
  16. Extremely high speculation
  17. Correct, it is not compatible with TARGET or FOXY when you use it through TUSBA, but it acts like a regular joystick in the system so you can bind axes and buttons within DCS or Falcon. I just set it up, and I plan to use it together with HOTAS Warthog stick and throttle, to have additionally authentic F-16 throttle (without connecting it with Cougar stick). And in general to have more axes and buttons in my setup. I found Cougar Throttle much more ergonomic than Warthog one, and cursor thumb-joystick on Cougar throttle is much better and comfortable that Warthog one, also seems to have higher resolution with TUSBA.
  18. Just got TUSBA R1 - works beautifly with my Cougar throttle, no driver required, just plug in, calibrate min/max ranges for axes, and it works. All axes are very smooth and have high resolution. I'm very happy with this great little adapter!
  19. "Stuka Pilot" by Hans Ulrich Rudel - best book I read about WW2 german pilot: http://www.amazon.com/Stuka-Pilot-Hans-Ulrich-Rudel/dp/1908476877/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1389052382&sr=1-1&keywords=Stuka+pilot
  20. I found this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=117316&highlight=R9+290 An I guess I'll stick with PNY GTX 770: http://www.amazon.com/PNY-GeForce-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-VCGGTX7702XPB/dp/B00CZ7Q028 770 as reported should be faster than 290 in DCS, also quieter, cooler and less power hungry. Moreover I plan to play with one screen so far, I guess just Full HD.
  21. Thanks guys! Some valuable opinions here! This is interesting. Original R9 290 cost in Switzerland almost as GTX 780, which I would say too much, but newer generation with aftermarket cooling like this Saphire comes bit cheaper, 100 bucks more than GTX770, but it just came up. Should be better cooling than stock one, especially in my case (Bitfenix Prodigy). I didn't yet ordered videocard so I consider options. Is DCS any good on Radeons? Are there any issues with drivers / settings? Price for both OSes at my place is exactly the same. Support from MS for Win7 valid till 2020 which doesn't make it old OS. I'm afraid some of my devices will clearly have problems, as well as potentially FSX and DX7 based sims (Orbiter, Condor), but not sure about these. I must say I'm not a fan of new UI either. Appreciate that!
  22. Hi guys, I intend to build a new gaming / simming rig. Not getting into details completely, specs are following: - Intel Core i7 4770K (presumably will be overclocked to 4.5 GHz) - 16 GB RAM - GeForce GTX 770, 2 GB VRAM Also, I want to use M.2 (NGFF) SSD for the OS. I want to keep my simulators on a separate SSD (SATA3), presumably from Samsung 840 Pro Basic series. I want my peripherals to be fully supported: - HOTAS Warthog - Thrustmaster Cougar MFDs - Simped vario F-16 USB pedals - TrackIR 5 Support of HOTAS Cougar would be nice as well, but not necessary. I just ordered TUSBA F-16 module, to use Cougar Throttle independently, new stuff should work fine on any Win. Sims I want to use: - primary - DCS - Falcon BMS - IL2 BOS - FSX (with many addons including Switzerland Pro from Aerosoft, A2A modules, PMDG NGX 737, REX) - ROF Would be good if runs: - Orbiter (2005, 2010) - Condor (still uses DirectX 7) - AeroflyFS - Falcon AF Now the only question is worrying me so far is to what version of Windows should I choose. I heard there are some issues for Cougar MFD's support, as well as people experience blue screens with FSX when using Windows 8.1. What OS would you recommend? - Win7 64bit Home Premium - Win 8.1 64bit OEM versions of either of them comes for about 100 bucks at my place. So price-wise no difference. I know for sure everything supported on Windows 7. Should I avoid 8.1? Anybody have the experience with similar HW, peripherals and software on Win8.1? Thanks in advance!
  23. Happy New Year! Hopefully next year we will celebrate on the edge! ;)
  24. О да! Отлично, и Вас так же, с Наступающим! :)
