I just ran across this thread and I also have just bought the a-10c module and have downloaded iron's profile for my x-52 (non pro) I have not tried the profile yet and hope to have time to try it soon(real life stuff). I have already seen some changes I want to make to the profile but have never messed with .lua files and x-52 profiles together I have always made my own x-52 profiles with the SST editor so I don't quite know how to change bindings in the .lua files that came with irons profile is there anyone or anywhere I can look ,kind of a tutorial or something to show me how to change key bindings in a profile like irons x-52 profile?

This is a very interesting discussion.ihave had FC3 every since it came out in fact until recently it was the only module I had.i have flown the a-10a model every since LOMAC came out because it was easy to jump into and go but recently bought the A-10C and MiG-21 modules and have kinda been apprehensive about the C model just because it is so involved but after reading scarecrows quote above I am wanting to try exactly what he said, yes it is still a pain to start up but dropping some of the things that make it more complicated (tgp, tad, etc) is going to make the learning curve a little bit easier for me to just get used to flying the plane itself.plus when I start flying a new aircraft I always create a mission where I can just fly a circut for a few times just to get used to the systems without having to worry about being shot down or employing the weapons.:book:

+1 please ED let's see the full potential of this great Russian dogfiighter.

Thank you both for your advice it has been very helpful.:notworthy: The mig-29 is going to be awesome when it's upgraded like the su-27.maybe it's true dogfighting ability will come out with PFM.then all we need is an f-16 to play with.

Thank you very much Weta43 that information is very helpful. Definitly a different process than western type radar and is definitly going to take some pratice to master.so how do you estimate the range to target to set that number at the bottom of the HUD.do you use GCI or AWACS or is there some other procedure you can use to get that number.:joystick:

Now that the mig-29 hdd is different than it used to be before the update I'm having some trouble getting all the information presented on the HUD in BVR mode straight.i think I have most all the info figured out except for 2 things,is the radar range number the one on the left side of the HUD just above the ILV/HI/MED indication and what is the number at the bottom of the HUD below the radar azimuth bar (it's a number with a decimal in it and usually starts at 10).if someone could post a screen shot showing what each symbol and numer is for it would be very helpful.:book:

[NO BUG AND WILL NOT CHANGE] MiG-29 HUD shows up on MFD
steve65 replied to otester's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
I checked on the net and found some info on this.GG is right the slew indicator is above the distance indicator.so I fired up dcs and flew the mig-29S and I did not see the indicator like they show in the pictures the only thing that moved when I used the radar slew left and right keys was the target box on the HUD.maybe the slew indicator is modeled incorrectly could someone else confirm? -

So if this is true my original question still stands.also how do you tell if the radar is slewed left or right. -

So how do you tell what range your radar is at if you can't see it on the hdd -
I would take a FC3 level F-4 granted it wouldn't be as good as an asm but it would be better than no F-4.

I am getting rid of freetrack since I can't get it to work in DCS 1.2.10 and going to facetracknoir is there anything besides uninstalling the freetrack software I need to delete in DCS so it doesn't interfear with facetracknoir?

Next DCS (Russian) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
steve65 replied to Milene's topic in DCS Core Wish List
IIRC Russia dropped the TM version in favor of the SM upgrade. -

I'd settle for FC3 plane to start with then if it became very popular then make the hi fidelity model. -

SU-25SM Would it be very difficult to upgrade the exsisting SU-25A to SU-25SM in DCS?i know there are a few external differences (4 pylons instead of 5 ) tail cone is different and the cockpits are different (shares most analog gauges)but the basic shape is similar and I'm sure that the cockpit could probably be modded with exsisting HUD from SU-25T.the MFD on the SM might be a problem.just a thought. -
Especially the mig-29k since it will be replacing the SU-33 by 2015.http://www.ruaviation.com/news/2014/4/25/2291/

And the saga continues:glare:

Maybe one day DCS will add all these upgrades to their F-15C and even the silent eagle upgrades
