  1. 1080ST. Problem is one of them is actually a 1080ST+ model. So it has a brighter output that the other one... Makes blending much much more difficult. Plan is to pick up another older one when it pops up used somewhere, then use the + model in the centre and two older ones on the sides. Either that or sell these ones and buy three of the newer 1210ST at the same time. Need a pc upgrade first. Rendering two viewports has hit me right in the FPS. Hard.
  2. Got it done! This pic shows the two viewports that DCS is outputting to each projector. And here it is with Fly Elise-ng running in the background and blending both images. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  3. Nothing special. Just 10m long hdmi cables from ebay. 30 AUD each and they do the job well. The computer is on the ground just while I test it. Once it's all finished plan is to rebuild it into a smaller case and hide it on a shelf behind the screen.
  4. Got it working with one wide viewport. Still trying to get the warping software to successfully blend two so the sides are not stretched. Once I do that I'll pull the trigger and spend the money to buy a licence for fly-elise.
  5. Both projectors working! Can wait to get this running in DCS. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  6. The only real special tool I have is a cheap Chinese K40 laser that I mentioned earlier in the thread. All the woodwork was either done by hand or cut for me by a local shop. All 3D prints are done via shapeways. The entire screen assembly cost about $150 and was done by hand with a jigsaw. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  7. Two beamers roof mounted for 180 degrees. The gap will be covered with tape once everything is finalised, it actually helps a lot to leave it for now so I have a half way line visible when aligning everything. The screen also has yet to have its final coat of paint, it's just flat white at the moment but will be finished in a 'black widow' mix. That'll go over the tape as well. I've got another 90 degree section ready to bolt on for a 270 degree setup, just waiting until I can afford a third projector. That will need to wait until after a major PC upgrade and a few other things. Plus I'll need to install the third screen section when the wife is overseas and hope she doesn't notice...

  11. Cheers lads. I'm pretty damn happy it's finally up and working. First decent video is up on my new channel! Make sure you guys subscribe! ${1} No major issues anymore, just ironing out a few minor bugs- its amazing the things you don't think of or realize until you are actually sitting in the pit and up in the air. Working on the fuel panel at the moment- its a complicated one! Haha - my drink was held securely in my hand as i communicated with the MiG-28 mid four G negative dive Running in 2.5. I update every time one is released. Request recieved! It shall be done!
  12. WOW. Brilliant work. I am envious of those MFD's. Time to break out the laser... Also where did you find the map light on the right of the MIP. I've been hunting one for ages! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  13. Big milestone tonight. For the first time it ran a full mission from cold start to landing 100% keyboard free and without issue. I'm a happy man. Sort of wish it was a Hornet though...
  14. Mines updating right now. I'll let you know asap. Edit- Turns out I previously migrated to World 2.5 and had deleted Open Beta. I didn't realise PG and Hornet was only being released on the Beta Version . So... I've downloaded Open Beta and have to reset my entire pits controls from scratch. Again. Fun few hours ahead then.... And a further update- I did a fresh re install of Open Beta, copy and pasted all LUAs direct from my 2.5 install and... all my old viewports are now working in Persian Gulf.
  15. I use deadmans 3D printed knobs in my pit. His knobs are printed for the real rotarys/pots, I just drill the holes out wider (6.5mm) to suit my cheap ebay rotarys and pots. I use M3 set screws to hold them in place. No metal brackets or nuts, just drill and tap the plastic to M3 thread and the material holds the screws very well. The Shapeways prints are very good quality, and with the frosted material they backlight very well. I have only damaged one, and that was because I threaded the set screw hex head and couldn't remove it. Had to drill it out. Still use it but with an m4 set screw. 16. Few more photos just because I can! Finished my TACAN, not entirely realistic but it gets the job done. Designed so I didn't have to buy any more segment displays for the x y. The knobs are temporary, the better ones I bought don't fit the rotary encoders I used... Buttkicker! Scored some real ACES seat cushions! Made some F-16 style indexers.
  17. I haven't actually tried the cockpit in multiplayer yet... Although I modified the viewport LUA on my old triple monitor rig and had no issues in multiplayer servers. Maybe someone else here can answer that? Im putting off multiplayer right now until I update my graphics card. I get very low fps when there is a lot going on in 2.5.... On another note - today I realised that this is basically impossible without a canopy frame for reference! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  18. Fixed the LUA editing problem... By not doing it anymore! Tried Helios to program the switches and it works brilliantly! I don't know why I've never used it before. No ghosting, double toggles, nothing. The random switch throwing continues but seems to be contained to the AHCP, and that's running from a GGG card not an Arduino. I sat staring at the AHCP in the sim for about 20 minutes (that was fun), and realised the CICU switch randomly throws for about a millisecond. I'm hoping it's just a wiring problem/faulty switch- so off comes the main panel again... I've been more active with photos and videos on Instagram now, have a look if you have it. @thewarthogproject The pit is almost at the keyboard free cold start stage... I CAN'T WAIT! And here is some eye candy.
  19. I had nothing but trouble with helios for a very long time. I recently tried again, this time using Capt Zeen profile as a base and Loz LUA Export file. Hasn't skipped a beat since. Entire pit, including switches and my Phidgets LED 64 caution panel now working in 2.5 and hasn't crashed once. Ikarus looks great but I just found it very hard to use. Took hours of thread reading just to work out how to install it. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  20. Lots to do. Most of the left console isn't wired up yet. Still have to build the radio stack. I've got the steppers and drivers for the fuel guage but haven't designed it yet. Right now I'm drawing up the AOA indexers and refuelling lights. They will be F16 style ones, pointing slightly inwards next to the UFC. I'm not building a HUD- way to complicated. I may put on a fake one just to complete the look though. I took it for a quick flight last night for the first time actually seated in the pit. It was fun until all systems and both engines randomly shut down... Im having some issues with switches in the sim randomly throwing. I think it's likely a USB power issue. I may have to run each (3) usb hub from separate wall plugs rather than all share the 5V out from the PSU. Also, I need to continue working on LUA editing. I got each on/off toggle working, but for some reason they are only being recognised by the sim after you throw it twice? As in the first toggle does nothing, then the second time it works as it should for the rest of the flight. On/off/on switches- no issue. Weird. Here is the fuel door lever. 3D printed and given to me for free by Blue73! Legend!
  21. Thanks mate. Installed and works brilliantly. I owe you a freeby! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  22. Safe to say I'm pretty happy right now... Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
  23. It's a Benq W1080st. Does the job well, although I'm having a problem with it overheating now. I think the lamp may be on the way out. I've had it a few years now and have never changed it Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
