  1. I have the Saitek Cessna Pedals (just because they were cheaper than the combat pedals) and I am not very happy with them. There's no comfortable way to put your feet on it unless you are a female with shoe size 4 or so ... and there's too much resistance so I can't even precisely use the toe brakes.. Should have better bought the combat pedals...
  2. Ahh the good old times, wished Novalogic had continued these series .. this was exactly the right thing for me, not too complex to learn but still not so stupid like HAWX & other console arcade crap... But since over 12 years I just can't bring these 3dfx graphics to my monitor and even if, it would look very rough compared to modern games..
  3. +1 !!! It's the same here, until now every bad-weather-landing is russian roulette.. sometimes the ILS works, most times it just directs me to the nirvana (e.g. 50m beside the runway...). The same with using the radar and fire rockets.. in good old Jane's USAF an AIM-120C got a range about 22nm. In FC3 it's nearly the same like a sidewinder... in good cases 7nm.. I don't think this is normal for a medium-range-missile. This are just 2 examples, I think I've teached myself many wrong things so I just don't fly even the F-15C the right way. All I know I've teached myself, from Youtube or with many hours in several forums. A really step-by-step Tutorial like "ILS-Landing for dumbos" or "shooting down enemy planes for Noobs" would be very, very good. Jane's USAF did this the best way, I've never saw anything else like this. A huge flight-school-text is nice to read in bed for background knowledge about aviation, but ingame I need a fixed "Checklist" how to do things right... Attacking ground units with the A-10C and so on ... ha ha ha ... I don't even think so far, I'm glad if I get this beauty started, fly some rounds and the set it back to ground in one piece... So as said, a Nice Noob-Tutorial with "press here, then there, and then over there" like done for the startup-procedure of the A-10C would be very nice for FC3.:pilotfly:
  4. But you have to remember this game was von 1986.... 10 years later there was MS Flight Simulator 95 which compared to Gunship was a completely new graphic experience... and again ten years later, around 2004, there came Lock-On and this Georgia Map ... and nearly again 10 years later, 2013 ... there's as good as no progress concerning graphics while the hardware became ten times better again. It's a quite frustrating if you compare this 10 year old graphics to other titles like BF3 and so on ... Simulating the avionics of an aircraft is one thing, but let it look like an aircraft in a real world with real sounds is the other thing. lets wait for EDGE .. :music_whistling:
  5. Ya i know the "air hole" is based on g-forces which are not really simulateable. But even with maximum turbulences, I've never felt my plane got shaked (like reaching the max speed) or suddendly gains or loses lift, e.g. by blasts in final approach. It's quite unspectular, this could really be conducted with some sound-features (howling engines, whistling wind,..) and give a little bit "feedback" to the joystick. Even with maximum wind and turbulences, the only way you really feel it is when you're trying to land and it blows your plane (again, very calculable) from the runway...
  6. I think weather is one of the worst things in DCS .. it's just not realistic ... even with extremely strong wind and turbulences, my plane just glides like on rails, the wind is very calculable ... it would be soooo nice seeing my jet battling against strong winds, air holes, got shaked by turbulences and it gets hard to take it in lane because of volatile wind blasts ... Anyone who ever was in a aeroplane and encountered strong stormwinds knows how this feels... but nothing from it is simulated right here... Big wish :music_whistling:
