Would like to make a high fidelity Airframe.
Gloom Demon replied to Dafflesdoob's topic in How To Mod for DCS World
Funny things aside - the Soviet Union before WW2 had military gliders capable of stealthly transporting troops across the front line - so a glider, potentially, has military applications - like the troop transport in the UH-1H. -
Great! Thanks :-)

I would presume, that in vertical mode, the radar will roll with the airplane, or vertical mode wouldn't make sense, but what about LRS or TWS?
-
Thanks for the help everyone - now I understand where I was thinking wrong. I still don't get it what happens when the radar is pointed upwards, but that is not important, probably. Another question - when the plane rolls - does the radar compensate or it rolls with the aircraft?

I am having problems understanding how the radar elevation coverage control works. For example, below is an image of the default position of the radar elevation coverage in Long Range Scan and to the right I have pictured my understanding of it. The lower circle is the lowest elevation the radar can scan and the higher circle is the highest elevation. So, assumingly, we are scanning the vertical plane from 25 through to 36 degrees (or, maybe, cockpit measurement units?) or an arc of 11 degrees. I have always thought, that degrees start at zero at the top, so maybe these are the cockpit measurement units from the AOA indicator with zero being the horizon. In the second picture I have tilted the elevation coverage a bit down - supposedly, we are now scanning the vertical plane from 23 to 34 degrees. Now, if I tilt the elevation all the way down I get a strange situation where both of the circles show an elevation of zero. Now, surely, such a radar mode would be useless. And - an aircraft wouldn't be able to scan below itself, which is not true... The same thing happens when I tilt the radar's elevation all the way up - both circles show zeroes - where would the radar be pointed? I am pretty sure that I am not understanding something right here - maybe someone can explain this to me? Thanks! :-)

The F-15C manual does not have any mention of the autopilot and it's modes of operation (the FC3 manual, apparently has).

Does the F-15C have an autopilot IRL. Or it is not modeled in the game? I have not found any mention of it in the manual...

А как правильно пользоваться штрихами ввода углов? Мерять расстояние до цели лазерным дальномером и брать соответствующее возвышение?

Thinking of Upgrading and Need some Advice

Another thing - we don't even know if the software, which is used by the TS, even supports Hyperthreading - what's the point of i7 if it doesn't? -
Thinking of Upgrading and Need some Advice

Any upgrade before EDGE arrives and, most importantly, is bug tested, is a gamble. Nobody knows how EDGE will be able to utilize multiple cores, so who knows - maybe 8 core will be better than 6... or not. I would wait till EDGE and then make my decision. Another thing to note - it is said that AMD video cards have poor performance in DirectX 9 applications - but EDGE will support DirectX 11, so it is possible, that after EDGE, DCSW will start running faster even on the old computer. -
Can someone please review the attached track file and tell me if this is realistic. I have played around with the F-15C, ran out of fuel and have managed to land the plane with no problems whatsoever. If I had attempted a landing like that in the Su-25T the landing strip would be littered with my remains. And this is the second time I even attempted a landing. And two more questions - for some reason I cannot seem to extend flaps while in flight - they extend without problems on the ground, though - maybe there is a speed limit or something? In the track it is visible, that the F-15C was constantly trying to roll to the right - why is that? Thanks in advance :-) P.S. The landing is, unsurprisingly, at the end of the track - everythiong else is just me trying out the plane. LastMissionTrack.trk

cichlidfan What a relief - thanks :-)

Maybe it is possible to find the sound file in question and overwrite it with something quieter? Or just lower the sound level in some sound editor like Audacity and resave?

What relationship does Belsimtek have to F-15C?
Gloom Demon replied to Gloom Demon's topic in F-15C for DCS World
AFM maybe? I thought that a PFM ahould have a clickable cockpit. Anyway - it's amazing, that a byelorussian company can do flight models for an american superjet  -
The F-15C manual says "Belsimtek" on every page - how is this company related to the F-15C? They have an F-15C stashed away somewhere? Or they were outsourced by ED to make this product? The reason I'm asking is that neither the Su-25 (A) or A-10A had any mention of Belsimtek...

А где можно почитать о причинах сворачивания и переформатирования проекта?

Page 62 on the Vertical Scan AACQ Mode states that "Two vertical lines are displayed on the HUD.", but there is only one vertical line on the picture on page 63.
-
The picture does not correspond to the text on the page 79 of the manual. It is said, that "At 12 o’clock, your aircraft is being illuminated by the acquisition radar (Snow Drift) of a "Buk" SAM system." - but there is no Buk on the picture. "From 2 o’clock, your aircraft is being illuminated by a ship-borne radar of a "Neustrashimy"- class patrol ship. Because it is a newly detected emitter, it has the semi-circle above it." There is no semi-circle above it on the picture.

Do I understand it correctly that there are no training videos for the F-15C, possibly because of it's beta status. DCSW gives me an error when I attempt to download them.
