  4. Can someone please explain to me - what is the sense of lowering those leading edge control surfaces (slats?) on the F-18 during takeoff? I mean - lowering the flaps makes sense to me - that creates a low pressure area above the wing and a high pressure area below it, so the aircraft is pushed up, however doing the same thing at the front of wing accomplishes exactly the opposite. A low pressure area below the wing should be pulling the aircraft down, which is not what you want during takeoff right? Or is my thinking wrong somewhere?

  8. Кому-нибудь удалось заставить ПТ Ту-154 работать под FSX в версии от стима? Установил его в SteamApps\common\FSX, самолет в списке отображается, а в полете вот такое... И, если нет, то как его теперь удалить?
  9. Why are the former Soviet Union countries not eligible for the Flash sale? I recall, that ED planned to introduce special prices to for this region, but the E-Shop shows me the same prices as for all other regions...

  15. Reaper6 So essentially I only need to uncage the Shkval sensor at startup once and forget about the whole thing altogether? It's just that on several occasions I couldn't unlock the destroyed target by pressing Lock and pressing uncage Shkval sensor helped...
  16. What is the difference between the Lock Target and Cage Shkval seeker in the Ka-50? The Su-25T doesn't have an uncage Skval seeker option and the Lock/Unlock target is sufficient.

  18. Thanks for the answers guys :-) Another question - I have, never thought I would say that, "only" 2Gb of VRAM. How much in terms of FPS am I loosing from not having enough VRAM?
  19. What is the maximum VRAM usage by DCSW on a system with 1 display - say 1920x1080?
  20. I know - I probably have a thing about Homeworld's music, however I find the soundtrack to the posted above trailer incredibly nonhomeworldish! It sounds like the kind of music you would expect to be in Battlefield or GTA - quick action paced games. But Homeworld is about SPACE! It (space) is enormous and mind staggering in it's colossal beauty. And it is deadly. Homeworld is not just another click or die action based strategy. It is about a civilization that has lost it's homeworld and has a choice of traversing the tremendous abyss of space to find a new one... or perish trying. It is a tale of hope and desperation, a sole wrong decision can drive your species to extinction. It is about humanity and the world turned against it. As a true fan of Homeworld and an amature astronomer I am very disappointed. Hopefully, the ingame soundtrack will be from the original game.
  21. I am having trouble steering the F-15C on the ground. It is as if this bird has a very large turning radius - in some online missions I cant even get it out of the parking space without rolling out to the ground. Could it be that there is a calibration problem somewhere?

  23. vicx Thanks for Your comment :-) I am not trying to argue with ED - after all it's just a game that I play. I recall a thing some guy said about some other game: "The zombies are unrealistically fast". That is funny, because there are no real life Zombies. I am not sure I want to live to see a real zombie to consider whether it's speed is realistic or not, however I would like to have realistic expectations in DCSW. I want to know the real range that I can be shot at, so that I can fly above it, or avoid it. And if the game has certain approximations, that is not a problem to me, as long as I am aware of them. But, strangely enough, I am not. If in the game a Tunguska shoots at 4.5 km it's fine with me. What puzzles me, is that the .lua file, which supposedly contains information of the Tunguska's tactical characteristics, shows a ceiling which does not correspond to ingame experience (3.5 km)... P.S. I am bewildered. I have just checked the ingame Encyclopedia and it states a 6 km ceiling for the Tunguska...
