  1. Oh man, the movement of the airfoils while looking back was amazing!
  2. Being the OP of this thread, I'll just say that I 100% understand why this is the way it is. I'm MORE THAN HAPPY to basically just funnel my money at these guys...but seriously, I just look at it as supporting the awesome things ED is able to provide for us avid simmers. I sure hope I didn't fan the flames of a "conversation" that has already taken place! Even Wags had to get in here to try and settle things. Having said that, NORMANDY 1944 LET'S GO!:pilotfly:
  3. Sure hope the amazing attention to detail that LN has displayed up to this point will stay with these two new companies we are getting. Oh man, I guess this will put a little dent in the Tomcat's development time...sad face. Will still be worth the wait, I'm sure!
  4. I'm probably just re-iterating what others are saying, but the P-51 is definitely the easiest to fly. I would also say that the 109 is the most effective, once you master it.:pilotfly:
  5. Ok! this is how I figured it worked, but just wanted to make sure before I pre-purchased. Thanks to all who have taken the time to reply! There were even quotes from Wags thrown in there!
  6. Just needed some quick clarification: Let's say I don't buy the WWII assets pack...Is it possible to still see/interact with the WWII assets while flying on the Normandy map, or will I just not be able to join a mission/mp server that requires the assets? Do you only really need the asset pack if you plan on actually creating scenarios with them??? Appreciate the help!
  7. Really looking forward to jumping back in with you guys. Especially on the Normandy map. I was in the process of moving when the servers went down so this is great news to hear that DoW is coming back.
  8. Yea, since finishing this campaign I've moved on to other module's campaigns (not naming anything specific!) and the difference is pretty substantial. Baltic really knows how to up the immersion with the all-encompassing details he throws in there. Can't wait for what comes next!
  9. Well, based off of your previous work, I have total faith in your ability to produce some high-quality stuff. Eagerly standing by!
  10. Oh wow, the amount of information here is pretty impressive. Thanks for this! Looking forward to reading through.
  11. I'm happy to basically just echo what everyone has said so far: Really enjoyed the campaign as a whole. I am also new to the whole BVR thing so this was great for me to gain a little experience and confidence. The story was very well thought out, and progressing through the training into actual combat was a great touch. The build up definitely got me excited/anxious. Another, less spoiler-y highlight for me, was how well you constructed the operations as a whole. I loved how I was just basically one cog in a more complex machine. I enjoyed the hell out of that. Really the only weird moments I had was on mission 09 with the AI not taxiing, (which wasn't a big deal, and I saw that it was reported and resolved) and on the second to last mission I kind of got stuck in a voice over trigger limbo: My hat's off to you, sir. Great work and I look forward to those next campaigns you teased there at the end... Until then, I need to go back and finish The Enemy Within! :pilotfly:
  12. One thing that helped me reduce the oscillations you are talking about is to focus on the tanker aircraft, while using your peripheral vision to line up with the basket. I am able to better anticipate and make accurate corrections. Other than that, just good old fashioned practice I would suppose. Good luck! This is definitely the most difficult part of DCS in my opinion.
  13. Goes to show how stoked people are for the Tomcat...myself included. Besides, we now know when the Viggen is releasing so why not poke and prod for the next???:pilotfly:
  14. Ok, so I had this problem as well, the whole not being able to access sound files. Make sure your install directory is correct. That's what fixed it for me. The correct install directory is listed near the beginning of the Vaicom user manual. Hope this fixes it because I definitely feel your pain. I was ready to murder someone by the time I figured it out.
  15. Yea, so I've tried calling on battery power, apu gen, then finally engine gens but still nothing. I've yet to try just on external power, though. I'll try that out.
  16. Thanks for the reply, Hollywood! Seeing your list, the only thing I can think that I didn't check was what the wafer switch on the ICS panel was doing while VA was working...I'll have to check that out. Other than that everything else, on the DCS side, is set up correctly for me to hear answers. *EDIT* Ok, so it's definitely something I'm missing with the radio set up in DCS because everyone answers right back in easy communication mode...Not sure what I'm missing. When trying to call ATC for start-up, I tune the correct frequency, MAN set, TR set. I turn the volume up all the way on the VHF1 panel, and the COMM panel. Oh, and I know for sure that VA is using VHF1 when I transmit. I've gone through the flight manual but I don't see anything else that is needed...
  17. So I'm up to the point now where voice inputs are indeed going through VA into DCS, but DCS isn't responding to the commands at all. For example, I'm on easy comms off, tune Batumi to VHF1 on 131.000. On the deck I call for a start up (using the VHF1 transmit in VA) but ATC won't respond. Basically the same thing with UHF. The player character will tell 2 to engage ground tgts, but the AI will not respond at all...:joystick::cry::joystick:
  18. Wow, thanks for the quick reaction guys! Certainly appreciate the help!
  19. Nope, it's all the same account. The fact that FC3 installed confirms that. Sure is weird. Really weird that the module isn't even found on the module manager at all. ...Wonder if this has anything to do with it coming out of early access...
  20. I am unable to physically tell DCS to install the F-5.
  21. So I just bought the F-5 and FC3 bundle. On both DCS 1.5 and 2.0 the module manager, when opened, does it's normal thing and installs FC3. The F-5 doesn't pop up to be installed, nor is it even anywhere on the module manager list...I definitely have the module, because I can view the activation key on the ED website. Is there another way to activate that I don't know about?
  22. Well if we were going to be totally realistic about it, you should only be able to do it while inverted.
  23. I just want to go off topic for a quick second and state the fact that Red Barchetta is an amazing song, written by an amazing band:thumbup:...ok back to topic! Can't wait to play this campaign. Just hoping/waiting for a change with having to own both modules, OR the Mig-15 goes on a good sale...
  24. Here is what the campaign creator had to say about the issue:
  25. I may be biased, having only owned the F-86... ...But I would rather pay 20 bucks to buy two separate dlc campaigns, than have to shell out $49.99 plus $9.99 just to be able to play the campaign at all. All us single owners can do is wait until something is changed, which I know is already being worked out.
