  1. Not a problem! Thank you for the timely response. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. After rendezvous with AWACS at WP2, I make the F10 call out to relieve the F-16s. The F16s depart, but the AWACS will not push towards WP3. I did 3 laps in holding with the AWACS at WP2 just to be sure and the AWACS just stays anchored at WP2. I also re-loaded and made the f10 call out while much closer to the AWACS but still had the same result. I've gotta say, DCS 2.5 has really seemed to throw a lot of things out of whack!
  3. Just in case there wasn't already a dedicated thread for this problem I decided to start this one...:music_whistling: When trying to taxi out, the AI aircraft, in this case the F-5s, taxi onto the taxi-way but then stop in the middle for the duration of the mission. I was able to get around them, but my wing-man was not. Everything else seemed to work just fine, but when I reached where I was supposed to land I found AI F-5s on that runway as well. One was at the threshold, sitting kind of sideways, but the one in front was way weirder. It was maybe 1/3 down the runway with full afterburners on, but not moving. Again, I was able to land and get around these AI. But then once I shut down and quit out of the mission, DCS always crashes, and does not credit you finishing the mission. I've seen the AI trouble mentioned in different subject threads so I thought it would be better to just consolidate that and the DCS crashing issue.
  4. Roger that. Thank you for the info. Just glad to understand what the deal is!
  5. Wow, yea I'm having every one of those issues as well actually. I've just been taxiing around the f-5s.
  6. Need to see if I'm missing something with rocket employment guys::helpsmilie: Trying to complete the campaign mission where you take out a bridge. The rockets are landing well above my crosshair... QFE is set correctly, I'm turning off moving target but leaving radar ranging on. I'm waiting until two seconds after the range indicator starts flashing and the "wings" appear, I also have about a 30ish degree dive angle, but I've tried going steeper/more shallow but I still get the same result. I've looked through the manual as well as Chuck's guide but not seeing anything extra...Is there a detail somewhere I'm missing?:joystick:
  7. First of all, I would definitely recommend going to the user files on the Eagle Dynamics website. That's a great resource for all kinds of things. Skins, checklists, and most importantly based on what you said, missions! As far as the Harrier itself is concerned, I honestly believe it's totally worth having at this point in DCS World's development, because it's such a unique airplane to learn to fly...with VSTOL capabilities and such. Plus I'm personally HUNGRY for any asset that has any kind of SEAD ability, or ship-borne operations.:pilotfly: Oh, and with this being the night attack variant, it's a lot of fun operating it in total darkness. Being able to project an ir picture within the hud view is cool as hell if you ask me... There's certainly trade offs with an early access module. It's definitely a bummer and can be frustrating dealing with bugs and missing features. But in the long run at least you will get a better and more in depth understanding of the systems as they come online. Lastly I would say that as far as multiplayer goes, there are a few servers just dedicated to training or PvE stuff. That's about as far into mp I go. I've never really been into the PvP:music_whistling:
  8. Whew, Ok I thought I was losing my mind haha...I was re-reading the change log after seeing the empty training window. Thanks for the back up Baltic!
  9. Roger that, Sabre. Thank you for the info and support! Excited to make my way through more of this campaign! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I can at least add my two cents onto two of your questions, Hippo. You definitely have to ignore the hold short lines and stop basically right at the runway before asking for clearance to take off. Even though this is obviously super un-realistic I've just picked up the habit of clearing the runway myself, lining up, then asking for take off. Again, I know this would get me kicked off of a real airfield lol...Plus, correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think the Caucasus map has had hold short lines at the airfield (without mods of course) up until the new and improved map. To my experience, I believe all of the other airfields still use the exact same runway for take off and landings. Batumi seems to be the odd one out...My hope is that DCS is so awesomely realistic, that Batumi in real life may not allow landings on 31, due to the terrain to the SE...but who knows. I'm still stuck at the first waypoint before the EFATO waypoint...the FE never tells me to turn towards it. He just keeps me at 030 at 6000, 220 knots forever....
  11. So I'm having trouble as well with this mission. My problem is the trigger at the first waypoint isn't happening. I get to 6000 feet and 220 knots but the FE never tells me to turn right to the EFATO waypoint, like he does in the practice mission. All of my drivers are updated, and I have attempted uninstalling and re installing...I did this through the module manager...is there a better way to go about un/re-installing???
  12. So yea, normally the AM radio is the one to use for ATC...not trying to insult your intelligence, but are you using the correct mic switch?
  13. Oh wow, didn't realize those were ever even in DCS...What airfield(s) have you seen them at? I've only flown around Sukhumi a bit so far and didn't notice any...
  14. Man, the jolt they take flying off the bow of the carrier always looks a little painful. It may just be the camera exaggerating...
  15. Right on, I figured you guys had your reasons. Definitely can't argue with wanting more immersion!
  16. Thanks for giving us a peek into what this campaign is going to be all about, BD! I'm already familiar with your previous works, but you still impress the hell out of me. The lengths you go to make DCS feel more alive is just great. For instance, this was the first time I had ever seen a mission with an actual working ATIS freq. (not sure honestly if this has been done before by yourself or anyone else) Did I miss the IP mention changing taxi lights to landing lights? That's probably the only thing odd that stuck out in my mind after finishing. One legit question, though, is what's the story with the highlighting of switches like the vanilla training missions did? Is it too obtuse to throw in there or is it just impossible to add??? This would obviously make the campaign way more approachable to the newer guys... So...yea. Even though I've been flying and learning the charlie for quite some time, I'm still excited to throw my money at you! BZ!!!:pilotfly:
  17. Right on, man! Thanks for sharing and thank you for your service!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Man, the amount of research going into this simulation is impressive. This is awesome, great stuff! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. not sure whats more exciting, carrier cats/traps or multi-crew with a buddy.:drunk:
  20. So I am attempting to open the bin directory in cmd.exe, but on Windows 10 I don't see any command prompt item listed when I hold shift and right click over the open alpha "bin" file...what am I missing???:helpsmilie:
  21. Yea, this is way better than manually inputting all of the button assignments and axis curves. Thanks a lot for the info! ...Now if I can just get Normandy to install...
  22. Man, she is the single most beautiful thing mankind has ever created...
  23. No wonder it's so tough to turn fight with the ai. They keep perfect AoA.
  24. I personally do not set power by the rpm indicator. I go by the manifold pressure. Max continuous power (with radiator in auto) is between 1.25 and 1.35 ata. This should give you around 2300-2400 rpm as long as the auto prop pitch is still working. Whenever I know I'm going to be using full power with the mw-50 injection a bunch, I will just fully open the radiator.
