Which aircraft are you most interested in?
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to Griffin's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
No surprises here; Germans first, then Mosquito and Thunderbolt (the latter has been growing on me). 1. Bf 109K-4 2. Me 262A-1 3. Fw 190A-5 4. Mosquito FB.VI 5. P-47D-28 Thunderbolt 6. P-38J-15 Lightning 7. B-17 Flying fortress ... 8. Spitfire Mk IX 9. Hawker Typhoon IB 10. A-26B-15 Invader (never heard of this one before; why not the B-25 Mitchell?) Boy, that B-17 is shredded to pieces by the mighty Me 262! -
A different kind of pledge
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to hegykc's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
You better get ready to receive orders with the Fw.190 release dawning. Expected price, delivery time, fits Thrustmaster HOTAS both mechanically and electrically, all metal? Noticed this thread; http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3133178/all/MMaister_s_KG13A_project ... drool. -

A rhetorical question I would think. -
A different kind of pledge
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to hegykc's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Very nice ... I've wanted a WWII fighter grip on my HOTAS for long (although it kind of defeats the purpose, Hall-effect sensors aside). I'll register on the ATAG forum shortly. Thank you for your help! -
A lot of new pledge options.
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to OB1's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
You pay for the content, not the map (world). Essentially you buy plane models with your pledge (and hopefully early access to the game). The naysayers can try the Su-25T (free plane model) in the map, but I doubt there will be a campaign or missions :) -

Comment from Ilya on Kickstarter: A flyable B-17 getting closer? -
Great to see this flightsim will get some real-time flight data fed into it. To give the kick-starter a boost, a flyable B-17 will (add Me.262 later). Early Alpha/Beta-access, as per Kickstarter comment. Don't worry too much about the map size; this is a Hi-Fi study sim first. Some early W.I.P. pictures may get more non-backers on board. People may need to realize though this is early stage.

DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I know cichlidfan. Don't jump to conclusions, I was merely pondering the possible scenarios. Agree ... need a man-cloud to hide in and shake off trackers. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Same here ... ready for a surprise final push (if need be). A Normandy invasion scenario would seriously slow down framerates on any PC. There were hardly any Luftwaffe fighters engaging the Normandy landings. After-Normandy scenarios, like Unternehmen "Drohende Gefahr West", are more feasible. -

And that's the way any election works too I suppose. I like voters to have backbone, to stand behind their vote and not doubt and falter. I can tell you want this project to happen just as much as me; why not support it all the way? Who cares what is free and what is not; bottom line is making this project happen. -

Back with your heart or don't. I'd hate to rely on people who are not. Like some forum member put it; "I've just filled up my car with $80-90 worth of gas, so I think I can afford the loss". -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
In my opinion you back a project because you want to see it happen as presented, not because "what's in it for me" (bigger maps, better planes, "bang for your buck"-type of discussions). In effect, it's a donation rather than a (pre-)purchase. I like to have a hard-copy of the manuals, so it's a welcome incentive for me. -

A-10 Carentan, par example. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Received a nasty surprise yesterday (private matters), but reading and watching the Kickstarter helped me through the night. I felt the Kickstarter video was "from the heart". They don't need fancy pictures to explain their vision. Thank you Luthier and team for making flight and operations manuals available as hard-copies. Luftwaffe operations maps of D-day can be found here. Wishing you all a good weekend. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Okay ... forget about the night missions for now then, although those would be the most dramatic ones with orange-lit sky and distant FLAK thunder (and "invisible" night-fighters). For bombers you would need a large-scale map, so leave them AI for now. Most definitely a (or Ju 88 for that matter) ... may finally invest in a ButtKicker then :) Can I ask for a spiral-bound manual (checklists, engine settings, bombing procedures, etc.) and/or a foldable map with (for example) Jäger-Gradnetz as an incentive for stretched Kickstarter goals? -

That's what the Mosquito's are for ... target marking (Pathfinder mission) and defence. -

Add Lancaster and Mosquito to the mix please ... night bombing raids. UK: Spitfire Mk XIV, Mosquito, Lancaster US: P-51D, P-38, B-17 Germany: Fw 190D, Bf 109G, Ju 88G, Me 262 -

Ehm ... maybe it's my poor English, but how am I to read this? ;) And regarding "the other WWII flight sim"; I'm sure many here will play it next to DCS: WWII. No need for hard feelings on either forum. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Pointless bickering indeed. Decision has been made, period. Will there be night-fighters later on, like the Ju 88G or He 219? -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Exactly my point. I can already sense the underlying sentiment of the jet community pointing fingers at ED for cutting into development time of their beloved F/A-18, etc. I'm interested in a WWII world, with a WWII look and feel to it and without getting blamed for getting in the way. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
I'm afraid I don't understand this thread side-tracking into a discussion about separating worlds or not. DCS: WWII will have what it looks to be a Normandy-like map ... is that a map "jet jockeys" would be interested in (as the default, only map)? Having two theaters/maps is being spoiled with choice in my opinion. And with 3rd party developers like Beczl offering WWII content for DCS: World I don't see the problem, as long as modules/content can be used in either map. -
DCS WWII: Europe 1944
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to recoilfx's topic in Western Europe 1944-1945
Great to see WWII will get it's own, separate world within DCS. Bring on that Bf 109 and thick spiral-bound manual with coffee stains. If feasible, a foldable Jäger-Gradnetzkarte to plot missions and mark kill quadrant. It would be nice if kill quadrant, plane type, height, time and date could be logged. And a revenge mission for German blood spilled during the Falaise pocket massacre (strafing of white-flagged columns by the RAF). Best of luck to Ilya and Igor (the Flanker guy).
