WWII started on Sept. 1, 1939, with the battle of Westerplatte (invasion of Poland). Plenty to look forward to in absence of the F-18, like the MiG-21Bis or Mirage2000 (okay ... after the T-2 Buckeye). Don't care much for the flying coffee grinders. -

Must be ... If you're looking for a good FSX model to practice on in the meantime, check the Flight Replicas Bf 109 series. -

I knew you meant that ... was just having some fun following the "guess not only Americans like big guns" comment. And yes, you're absolutely right about the Bf 109, except the disappointment part ;) But of course I hope there will be one modeled soon ... My sigpic is a HA-1112 (as used in the movie "Der Stern von Afrika"), as some forum members have rightly pointed out already. I like the paintscheme. -

No, I miss the Wags update anticipation excitement this week ... we're not all 65+ you know. Why not invite all (ED/3rd) parties to give their respective updates on Friday and combine in a single thread each week? That way, each 3rd party developer will (hopefully) garner interest for their product instead of being tucked away in some dark corner of the forum. And it's kind of competitive too ... -

If you fly low-level into Russian-occupied Berlin you sure have balls of steel. And she was a test-pilot, so certainly more skilled than many a pilot. -

Ah ... der Fliegender Bleistift (Flying Pencil), the Do 17Z. Nice choice! I hope you will model Hanna Reitsch in it ;) -
Ah, more delta wing to spend my hard-earned cash on. I feel a little spoiled now ...

That is an early Christmas gift for sure Double D ... fantastic news! Hmmm ... more eyecandy. Hope it will become more than just an AI plane ... it deserves to be flown as a nightfighter with those antlers. -

No problem ... looks promising! The backbone fighter of the Luftwaffe. Now, if only someone were to model the G so I can play some Schräge Musik in the pitch-dark night ... Are you focusing on the Eastern front Beczl? -

Ju 88(G) requested. It's an all-round fighter-bomber and can be used for dive-bombing, raiding and night-fighting against Allied bombers. And of course I'd like to fly the legendary . ©2008 - Mark Postlethwaite -

Very true ... but seeing your other works of art and the fact that you really seem to be into WWII, I had hoped for something better than just "filling gaps" until a RRG Studios game is released (like a Bf or Ju, or even a Il ;)). -

Ah, I missed the thread closing part. It's well-explained in this thread that Beczl is in a lull regarding the MiG-21Bis project now, waiting for other team members to finish their parts. He chose to add his side-project to his signature ... and why not? But I do hope that DCS: WWII is a combined effort of parties and not a stand-alone RRG Studios game and some separate mods for DCS: World. -

Most certainly welcoming this new WWII content in DCS(:Combined Arms?), but how (if at all) does this fit in with RRG Studios' WWII game? I'd really like to see a combined effort, not two separate ones. As enhanced models in the RRG Studios' game, absolutely. Edit: Looks like Beczl was already working on WWII models long before the ED/RRG Studios partnership announcement ... http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=107685 -

How about a Grumman HU-16 Albatross or Consalidated PBY Catalina? It would be nice to have a plane that can land on water. Enough daydreaming ... -

I can see Lockheed Martin showing interest in DCS if ED keeps up the good work, just like they bought some of the FSX rights from Microsoft and repackaged it as Prepar3d/P3D (with some code changes). There seems to be a void in the civil flight simulator market that even X-Plane 10 cannot fill at this moment. There are military planes in FSX/P3D (notably A2A, IRIS, Razbam, Milviz), so why not have some civilian aircraft in DCS? There can be a fine line between military and civilian aircraft ... think Learjet 35/36 and Cessna O-2 (Bat*21 anyone?). It's all about the fun of flying and blowing stuff up when you like to, something FSX/P3D is not very good at (even with the VRS TacPack add-on). -

A great oil painting indeed ... I wish I'd have some of that artistic skill. Don't worry Matt, we're patient old-timers. Just trolling for a Dora update. Keep up the good work! -

what to expect from Su-27 module?
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to nap0leonic's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Flanker fanboys galore ... The question begs, what would you rather have; a poorly modeled Su-27SM or a precisely modeled S? Or, no Flanker at all ... Some like the old stuff you know ;) -

Maybe it takes more time to develop a realistic simulation of the SM's MFD systems? Anyway, more time to enjoy the outside view ;) -

Didn't we already have this in the 1990's? Recently re-installed the 1997 Squadron Commanders Edition and it plays surprisingly well, even with an AMD processor and ATI graphics card ;) -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Hans-Joachim Marseille replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I think that's indeed more likely to happen than a Vietnam scenario. Not really sure how Orbx models Vietnam in FSX/Prepar3d, but as far as realistic simulated scenery they would act as my benchmark. Photorealistic scenery (aerial photographs transposed onto mesh) looks nice from above, but hideous at (chopper) ground level. FTX Papua-New Guinea may act as reference for map possibilities, but missing the Vietnam-typical rice paddies; http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/60953-ftx-global-papua-new-guinea/.
